STOP THE SHISHA BAN

The UK government has decided that a complete shisha ban is needed and they are using the Tier system as an excuse. I spoke to a councillor in charge of this and she confirmed the ban. This is the new world order the governmnet is aiming for where we cannot socialise, enjoy ourselves or have friends!!! This ban will affect a lot of people's livelihood! Businesses will close and employees will be made redundant. It is ok for people to stand outside pubs, bars & restaurants to smoke cigarettes

Keep Bocs Pwdin in Rhydyfelin

RHYDYFELIN WE NEED YOUR HELP! It has come to our attention that apparently the residents and business owners of RHYDYFELIN aren't happy with the placement of the trailer. We are located on land that is owned by the community of Rhydyfelin, which is parked in a corner out of the way and not causing an issue with parking or taking up unnecessary space. We are clean and tidy. In fact we have taken it upon ourselves to clean the area of rubbish left from other businesses... Chip papers and trays, ca

Open Bowring Park Changing Rooms Car Park

Bowring Park Car Park, off Herbert Avenue is locked, except when the Changing Room facilities are in use. This 30 space car park is much needed by the increasing number of park users who otherwise have to leave their cars in the road. This petition calls on Telford & Wrekin Council to unlock this car park so that it can be used by all visitors to the park. The Council currently refuse to allow this car park to be used due to an apparent historic agreement with neighbours in the houses adjace

Protect and prioritise the safety of Leighswood Road residents and those accessing it by banning or restricting Heavy Goods Vehicles.

Leighswood Road is an extremely busy road and its proximity to local industrial estates means it sees a high and ever increasing number of heavy goods vehicles using it. The road is a narrow road and large goods vehicles have no choice than to drive right next to the footpath. This is dangerous for any pedestrians using the footpaths which, in places, are very narrow themselves. Recently one resident’s jacket was torn when a large lorry brushed past him and I also have details of another reside

We feel that Stanwix should have its own Village Council

Many areas around Carlisle have the benefit of Village Councils, but Stanwix does not. It could apply for lottery funding for projects. It would have a legal input to development planning proposals. It would build community spirit, civic pride and disaster resilience. This is a community governance petition to the City and County Councils for a community governance review under the provisions of the under the provisions of section 80 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act

Delay the introduction of school uniform at Avanti Park School

As parents, we are asking Avanti Trust to delay the introduction of school uniform until September 2021 for the following reasons: 1. Avanti clearly stated, in writing in the curriculum review, to parents that they would not introduce uniform until Septemeber 2021. There has been no parent consultation over this early introduction.  2. We are in the middle of a global pandemic. Many schools have held off on uniforms as they have insisted on clean clothes every day. It is much harder to keep unif

Securing the long-term future of Latin and of the CSEL at the University of Salzburg

(Deutsche Version unten) The Rectorate of the University of Salzburg plans not to fill the only existing full professorship for Latin at the Department of Classical Studies following the retirement of the current position holder. This does not mean that the Latin program would be discontinued. Nevertheless, there are solid arguments for preserving the professorship: Only a strong Latin department with research-oriented teaching – for which a full professorship is essential – will be able to insp

NI Health Minister ROBIN SWANN should RESIGN immediately!

This is a call to the Stormont executive to ask for the immediate resignation from Robin Swann of his position as Northern Ireland's health minister. Mr Swann refuses to make available to the public the "compelling Scientific evidence" he supposedly has been using to support COVID-19 restrictions which the executive have been and are continuing to put in place. Several requests have been made to Mr Swann to release this information to the public under the Freedoms of information act 2000 and he

Petition to revoke the decision to stop shooting on the Fens

The Grimston Fen and Allotment Trust held a public consultation in the March 2020 edition of the Village Link regarding shooting on Sugar, Derby & Hudson Fens.  The majority of responses were in favour of keeping shooting twice a week, however the total return was low.  The Trust published the decision to stop shooting in the July/August edition of the Village Link, stating the Trusts new focus on conservation and protection of the fens for leisure. This can be evidenced by work commenced pr
