Terrible idea. There are better places in Richmond for the Gloriana. the Jubilee Gardens or Radnor Gardens are just two.

Total waste of local taxpayers money

I grew up playing in the park area, it was vividly memorable, and I would want it safe for future generations.

Please save this beautiful part of river from being destroyed by this development. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and it should remain this way for all to enjoy.

Stop this development. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty that needs to be protected for future generations to enjoy.

The idea of Gloriana being somewhere in the borough is not necessarily a bad one, but this is a completely inappropriate spot to site it. Orleans riverside is meant for locals and is suited to mainly have people walking or taking buses to access it. There is not the infrastructure for such a grand project and adding that infrastructure would severally damage this beautiful and relaxing area. Please start re- considering other sites, such as Richmond riverside which have much better access and infrastructure.

This area is a real haven in an increasingly built up, densely populated neighbourhood.  Children savour the tranquility as do adults.  We need somewhere to escape the busy-ness of life and this spot provides it.  Please don't destroy our riverside by brining in more cars, busses and people.

I completely agree with all the key objections in the Friends of Orleans leaflet

What an ill thought out idea that will ruin a much loved children's playground and cause unnecessary traffic on narrow roads. There must be many more suitable sites both in and outside the Richmond/Twickenham area.

Sacrificing a space of outstanding natural beauty to a boathouse for a "replica" boat - who's idea was that ?

Open green spaces/parks are too valuable for a personal vanity issue.

Local elections would have been the vehicle to gauge public opinion on the project.

Why ruin a peaceful area of great beauty at great expense for a commercial, tourist attraction which will give local people nothing but disturbance?

Boats need appropriate harbours. Why not Hampton Court or the Tower of London? Why change the nature of this last little corner of peace and tranquility and create conflict with nearby residents and users of the area?

Orleans riverside is an area of beauty donated to families for personal fun & pleasure!. I do not support this area being used exclusively for the commercial purpose of the Queens jubilee barge.

This could be a good initiative if it was at the right location. Orleans riverside is not the right location for it considering the price that locals will have to pay in return. why not give it to places like Ham, Richmond, or Brentford which are either equipped to deal with large numbers of visitors or are in need of regeneration.  The construction and visitor access challenges make the proposed site totally inappropriate and it will greatly detract from a beautiful undeveloped area which we understood to be in a protected area.

Eel Pie Island is the proper place for Gloriana

Everything possible should be done to prevent this vandalism. This site is a valuable tool.

It smacks of Royalist toadyism. Would the council back the scheme if the boat were called Oliver Cromwell? Fine replica, but wrong location.

The park is beautiful and gets so much use every hour of every day. It would be such a loss for the community!

This is one of the most wonderful parts of the borough and certainly one of the best kept secrets in London. I love Twickenham riverside and honestly can't understand why anyone would want to destroy such a cherished area of the community.

Absolutely no need for a special boat house right slam bang in the middle of a great park

I have lived in and loved this neighborhood for 66 years, I think it would be a tragedy if this plan goes ahead.
Gloriana was built in Brentford not Richmond I think this or Hampton Court would be a more appropriate location.

Yes, this would be an act of wreckless vandalism destroying or at least adulterating a peacefully green environment enjoyed since chilhood. Brentford is a far more practical location for the Barge or upriver, Hampton Court would be appropriate
