They should leave things as they are as people
can associate with what they do, such as help very ill
people that need them badly. Change the name,
And people will be upset.

Please do not do this it's always been known as the lions hospice total waste of money

Changing the name of this Hospice
is not good for our Community who
have come to know this as very good
cause to support as the Lions have done so much to
provide this wonderful service in the begining.Their name needs to be recognised .

The Lions Hospice were wonderful to my Mother-in-Law when she was ill and sadly passed away. They gave great support to the family too and will always have a special place in our hearts. This is why I feel the Lions name should continue.

Should definitely keep "Lions" in the title

The local Lions logo must remain part of the new rebranding. The Lions Club was instrumental in fund raising for the creation of the hospice and their support should be recognised and appreciated. To remove the logo is disrespectful to the Lions and could provoke diminishing financial support in the future for the hospice.

We cannot believe how badly this has been handles and how shamefully the Lions have been treated. We hope the management that made the dicision hang their heads in shame.

There would be no Hospice without the Lions so it would be an absolute scandal to remove their name from it's title

This Hospice is widely known locally as 'The Lion's Hospice' which reflects the fact that it was the Lions who raised funds to pay for setting it up. To take Lions out of its name would be a real 'slap in the face' for a most worthy organisation

I agree with the lions name being retained as I fear that at some latter date their could be a take over and the wonderful work which they have done and are doing at present will be lost to the people of North Kent J w e

I can not see the point of removing the lions name from the hospice as every body knows what you do for them

I agree that a takeover is possible in the future.

If the trustees carry on with fighting the Ellenor v Lions childish dispute of the 1990’s, then the reputation and the income of the organisation will suffer.  When the Clinical Commissioning  Groups (CCG) get serious, and control of expenditure is paramount, then the following two actions are possible.

Demelza takes over the work done by chYps – they have £3m of long term investments, and Marie Curie takes over the home care function – they have £77m of long term investments.  Both have the management and clinical expertise.

This will leave the Hospice as a small fish in a large ocean.  Amalgamation or being taken over by a larger organisation such as Marie Curie would be a sensible option.

Regardless of who actually manages the operation, whether it be a rebranded 'EllenorLions Hospices', Marie Curie or whoever, there is no reason why the building in Coldharbour Road should not remain a tribute to those who built it by staying officially known as 'The Lions Hospice' in perpetuity.

The Lions founded it and should continue to be recognised.

The Hospice was the idea of Lions Members of Zone 4A who raised the necessary funds for it's construction and have continued to help with running coats by providing Hospice shops for over 20 years.

Lions are part and parcel of this Hopis, and should be recognized for all the help given.

After all the support that Lions have given this charity it seems rather ungrateful and petty to drop their name from the hospice.

One also wonders how much of the charity's money will be wasted in such a rebranding.

I have contributed to the hospice since I joined Lions in 1986. It has always been a lions hospice and should retain the Lions name. With out the lions backing the hospice would not exist!

As there was no Hospice in the area at the time a Past Lions Distrcict Govener decided it was in the interest of local resident to build a Hospice thus saving people traveling to London or Canterbury for these services .So a major fund raiosinf throught the South East of England through the Lions network resulted in a Hospice being built and funded through the lions alone. So if it wasn,t for the Lions I doubt this petition would not be taking place

the proposal is outrageous and appalls those of us that know the history of the foundation and the tremendous and contionuing efforts by all the local Lions to raise such large sums to finance the"Lions Hospice";How sad for those whose loved ones benefitted so much in their last days by such special care

I feel that the seminal and continuing contribution by the Lions deserves permanent recognition.
