I agree with the lions name being retained as I fear that at some latter date their could be a take over and the wonderful work which they have done and are doing at present will be lost to the people of North Kent J w e

I agree that a takeover is possible in the future.

If the trustees carry on with fighting the Ellenor v Lions childish dispute of the 1990’s, then the reputation and the income of the organisation will suffer.  When the Clinical Commissioning  Groups (CCG) get serious, and control of expenditure is paramount, then the following two actions are possible.

Demelza takes over the work done by chYps – they have £3m of long term investments, and Marie Curie takes over the home care function – they have £77m of long term investments.  Both have the management and clinical expertise.

This will leave the Hospice as a small fish in a large ocean.  Amalgamation or being taken over by a larger organisation such as Marie Curie would be a sensible option.
