I believe that the Proposed Developments will have a major environmental and visual impact on Longridge and the surrounding area. Any development should be based upon a neighbourhood plan and should be executed on a gradual basis using small sites to reduce the upheaval and disruption to local residents and the increased likelihood if flooding in an already susceptible area. These large scale estates as proposed will have an enormous effect on the volume of traffic in and around our village which is already being affected by the smaller developments which have already commenced.

I am born and raised in longridge and feel that the village that once was has now been altered beyond all recognition for the worst I might add. (When will it end.) If I had a choice I would leave the once village, despite being a thoroughbred. Please stop this over development of my birth place.

Longridge is big enough without any more housing. Often the people who move to these new estates don't become part of the community, they go elsewhere to shop & to spend leisure time so contribute nothing

Most people are not against reasonable development in the area...houses that are affordable for our young people to raise their families as the rest of us has done....main problem is, Preston council is allowing building to take place on our green belt land because they don't want it in Preston...they see a rural area where all these developers can push their properties in but Preston reap the rewards of extra council tax..but its Longridge's facilities that are stretched!

People are right to suggest that fat cat developers are only interested in profit..they dont care about upheaval in a community..they dont live here! Fox development built Buckshaw village, that's what they'll do to Longridge. So-called consultation meetings are a joke...decisions are already made, money has changed hands, even before planning decisions are made public..thats' democrasy for you! Disgraceful!

What a shame that Longridge residents don't have a say in what happens in their area. We will never get back the 'feel' of a market town again once green fields are grabbed. We are told that local schools and doctors have said they can absorb the extra population, does anyone know if this is actuall true?

Preston council decision to allow Fox development is based on the ridiculous fact that a main concern was access roads and increased traffic on the Whittingham road to Broughton. As this is now 'improved' the council can see no reason to disallow the development. The MAIN problem will be increased traffic at Stonebridge (not Broughton) what a nightmare that will be. Get ready to leave home an hour earlier folks!!Incidentally there has been NO imrovement at the lights at the end of Whittingham road, where the lights only let tree cars through at a time at peak periods!

How can one start to comment on such things that are happening to our lovely area? It makes everyone so angry. Is it because we need so many new houses in Longridge? No. The only ones really benefitting are the developers, builders and planners. Please keep our green areas green and out of the hands of the greedy.

Longridge can't cope with all the new houses proposed, the roads and schools are full now. We are being bullied by greedy developers who will make a fast buck then disappear . It's time we stood up and be counted.

Longridge has changed considerably since my childhood - where we once had green fields to play in there are now housing estates.  Longridge does not have the infrastructure for such a development.  At peak times roads leaving the town are extremely busy. New houses are not linked to mains sewrage systems. Bottom of Dilworth Lane towards Corporation Arms already gets flooded. Will lead to shortage of schools and medical facilities.  Will these greedy developers leave any green spaces for our children to enjoy!  We need to save our green belt areas from these greedy people.

Building companys have always been the same, they are not interested in building houses to fit into the environment, but only to build as many as possible for the highest price, to make as much profit as possible, which is considerable.
That is also why they are not interested in building affordable housing and choose to apply for housing development in higher priced housing areas where it seems to some people the planning authorities are a soft touch.

What happened to the greenbelt? Is this just around Longridge that so many housing applications are being submitted, or am i dreaming?

The proposed development by ''Fox'' was rejected, twice, partly because of the increased traffic congestion that this would produce and Brabiner Lane would become impassable. This will also be aggravated by the Hospital development. It appears that at a 'secret' meeting that approval may be given.Within a few years there will be tailbacks in Whittingham Rd.The infrastrcture of Longridge will not support all of the planned proposals.
N.B. In their original Presentation, Fox Developments suggested that this would account for one additional vehicle per house increasing the hold up at Broughton by a mere four vehicles. It wil now make it worse than the 1960's Please do n0t bring the 'By-pass into cosideration and the improvements at the motorway roundabout hs no significence.

A lot of people are mimbys for a very good reason. We moved into Longridge nearly 40 years ago but there has been more development in the last 15 years that has doubled the population. This small town cannot stand much more without becoming a horrible communter town.No brown field sites have been used why not?

it would be a lot more sense to build more true bungalows at reasonable prices to enable older people could comfortly downsize to release larger family sized homes

We moved to Longridge to get away from living in a built up area. Also the infrastructure of Longridge can not sustain any more houses.

We have a lovely little town here, why should it be spoilt by more traffic,. We need to think about our children, where will they live and go to school? Doctors are overrun and schools are full, there is very little entertainment as they get older and little prospect of work in the area. Then we are losing habitat got the wonderful wild life that surrounds us. Who keeps saying come to the ribble valley? It won't stay lovely for much longer iff the greedy builders get their way!

The inspector from what I see has based his decision to develop the Ridings Depot and adjacent fields soley on one particular issue: this being the improvement to a roundabout 8kms from the site!!. He bases this on one days viewing of the area. I note he visited Broughton at 1700 to watch the traffic heading north, yet the north/south route gets two "goes" at the crossroads for each one trying to get out of Whittingham Rd so its no wonder the traffic was moving at a reasonable speed. He should have been there at 8.15 in the morning trying to get out of Whittingham Lane!! There is little mention of the traffic chaos that will ensue at Stonebridge and through Grimsargh at peak times, pressure on infrastructure in Longridge and a host of other reasons
Fox appear to be able to make one appeal after another so should not the residents who will have to live with this foolish decision also be allowed to appeal continuously?

To build extensively in and around longridge will have a negative/ massive impact on this beautiful and rural area. In order for the town to remain in its natural state we need to say No to these unnecessary and unwanted builds.
