I have read some negative comments on this blog about the gentleman in question, which seem to indicate that he may not have atypical neurology, or may have mental health difficulties, and if any of the comments are true then he still needs to be freed immediately, in fact the need to do so is even more pertinent, he is not a criminal. Prison is not the a holding cell for people who do not function in mainstream society. There needs to be other services to support such people. Prison should not be a holding cell for the mentally ill. If the negative comments are untrue, he still does not belong in prison.

Judging my some of the comments left by his neighbours on here and on fb the poor old chap is probably safer where he is. One young man has at least had the decency to admit that kids have made his life a misery. So why are they then surprised when he becomes introverted and isolates himself? Surly not all his neighbours feel the same way about him. This is all about conformity and community. We are all different but once we step outside what some people consider normal, they attack. This gentleman just wants to live his life his way. Some think that deserves ASBOs and prison. Well I don't, I think he has got some mental health issues but that besides the point. So feed your birds Mr Wilkinson and live your life your way......

A measure of the values of our society, is how we treat the most vulnerable. This man is neither violent nor a danger to society. He may be a nuisance and probably needs help, but imprisoning him brings shame on our Justice System. The magistrates who imposed this sentence should be suspended and investigated.

The world has gone mad, people commit the most disgusting crimes and get let off or not even arrested, and poor john feeds a few birds and gets locked up!! Even people who are cruel to animals don't get locked up, yet he gets punished for being kind to them!

some of his "neighbours" are binge drinking anti social nutters who are feared not respected by the local community, no shock that they are trying to convince people that they are victims when the media spotlight is starting to focus on why this has happened, they do not want people to find out about their shameful inhuman behavior - devious sly people

This man is a compassionate person and to send him to prison is disgusting. Not harming anybody is a crime?
