Yes I do need to comment - after Elvis so generously donated to this precious Memorial of our Country, it is so sad that they dishonored him by removing his name. He was a Great Man with a Great Giving Heart, but had troubles like we all do.. Too Bad at the time he was suffering, this happened to make his troubles worse. He so needs to be recognized for being the Giving Man he was. THIS ENTIRE STORY OF THE MONUMENT NEEDS TO BE SPREAD WORLD WIDE... Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention

Because Elvis was a great patriot and loved his country. He gave to many charities during his lifetime and often helped people who were less fortunate and yeah his 61 benefit show helped to pay for the Uss Arizona Memorial!

It's a good reason for all the Elvis legacy left to the US.

His name should have never been removed in the first place. He did so much for this country. If he helped make the funds for this memorial he deserves his name on it

Elvis deserves the recognition. He helped build it and he deserves to be recognized for it. He only took what his Dr. told him to take. More than anything I really believe Elvis died of a broken heart. He was nevertthe same after he lost his mother.

To save his name on it...he raised money to support that ship.

Please do, Elvis did A lot for people and was the greatest entertainer of all times. He raised money for cancer and a ranch for children.  He also raised the money for the ship.

I am an Elvis fan. I think Elvis's name should be remembered as a wonderful, caring, generous man.

Ridiculous to take his name off - the drugs were prescribed by a doctor and not illegal.

He raised the money and his name deserves the recognition. If they don't want his name associated with the USS Arizona, give back the money he donated to his estate and move on.

Whoever responsible for the removal of Elvis name should realize the importance of Elvis contribution and his influence to so many American lives

I can guarantee you that there'd be a few seedy shady characters left on that Memorial with skeletons in their closets.
It just so happens Elvis was famous and nothing was private.
What an insult to his fans to remove his name.

After all Elvis did to help Veterans of the Arizona its a Slap in his face to have taken his name off. Back then they did not know prescription drug abuse like they know now.

Elvis did so much for so many in his life. This is just not right you must put Elvis's name back on the monument with out him, it would have talken so much longer to complete. We all have problems there is not one perfect person. How dare people judge him for his perscription drug use/ abuse. They were ordered by Drs we dont know all of his health issues, that caused him to use the meds so dont judge only God can judge!!!!! Do whats right put him back on the monument so people will know that he helped by donating a large amount of money for completion.

He's an icon.how he died has nothing to with what he did,or who he was.if we were to look back on some of these people who ships were named after them,we would shocked.
