My niece is a student at Swansea university and her water is out yet again for the second time in two months. She can not shower or use the toilets!

(Bridgend, 2017-03-31)

#410

I unfortunately live there

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#413

I am signing as I believe we shouldn't be charged full rent as we are not getting the services as agreed within the contract.

(Northam, 2017-03-31)

#416

Completely out of order.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#420

No running water is so frustrating!

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#421

There is no water in the student village, this has happened for on numerous occasions and is rediculous

(Newport, 2017-03-31)

#422

Need water !

I think it is extremely unfair that students are paying full rent for accommodation that is substandard. Students in the Bay Campus or Singleton don't experience any of these issues. If they were private renting they would legally be allowed to withhold rent due to these issues. I'might horrified as a parent to learn that water drips through the bathroom light fitting, which blows half of the flats electrics and nothing gets done about it and it's days before someone comes to look at it. There are so many issues to many to list but as a parent i'm deeply appalled at the university allowing this to happen when I know my daughter has complained on numerous occasions.

No water

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

I live on HSV and I'm sick of constantly being freezing and without water and the uni doing nothing about it or accusing us of making up excuses. To the point our bathroom floor fell through because they wouldn't fix the flooding that went on from the day we moved in and lasted 5 months.

(Newport, 2017-03-31)

#455

This is not acceptable, if this was a regular housing estate as opposed to students we would be treated fairly.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#456

I'm signing this petition because the standard of accomodation is not suffice, especially when considering the amount that's paid for the accomodation. The persistence of the problems makes me feel as though there has been no real attempt to solve the situation and that we are being taken advantage of as students.

(Windsor, 2017-03-31)

#465

I'm signing because no water, electricity cuts, unreliable wifi, a closed launderette and continuous noise pollution from the building site that is HSV is neither what I signed for or what I pay rent for.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#466

These students are denied basic rights to running water and clean living space and should not have to pay full price for it.

(Bristol, 2017-03-31)

#468

Frequent lack of basic necessities: water, electricity, internet.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#477

I want water

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#479

How can anyone be expected to pay rent, which includes utilities, when utilities aren't being provided. It is unfair to ask someone to pay for a service they aren't being provided with.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#483

Perpetual drains smell in Caswell accomm Singleton Park - share your frustrations about Swansea Uni accommodation standards.

(Bristol, 2017-03-31)

#488

It is an absolute disgrace to be taking over £300 a month for a room even a mouse would struggle living in and then to not even provide the basic utilities required for everyday living is disgusting! Compensation is required.

(Swansea, 2017-03-31)

#507

This is unacceptable

(Swansea , 2017-03-31)

#530

I am dissapointed to see these students living in such poor conditions!

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#531

Lack of service

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#533

I used to live there and the same happened to me

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#534

Due to the shortage of water and constant problems we have faced as students living in the HSV

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#535

The water thing is a*****kng joke

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#542

We deserve money back

(Kettering , 2017-04-01)

#543

Don't believe HSV has given their residents a suitable and up to standards accommodation

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#555

there is a lack of updates on the situations, and when there are updates they are often vague and unhelpful. Perhaps we'd be more forgiving if we were told when we were selecting accommodation that we would be living on a construction site

(isle of wight, 2017-04-01)

#557

my nem jef

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#558

I haven't been able to eat for 4 hours.

All the issues that have been created by the building works have affected the students that live here, our learning has been disrupted due to power cuts and lack of wifi. There are many health care students that live in the student village e.g. nurses who work night shifts who have been disturbed by the constant drilling and building works going on. They have also been unable to get to placement on time as the buses refuse to travel into the village due to the building works affecting the road entering the village. Numerous water cuts have affected washing clothes, being able to have showers and being able to cook properly for several hours without alternative provisions.

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#577

Live on HSV and have been provided a completely unacceptable service

(Swansea , 2017-04-01)

#583

This has happened too frequently!!!

(Swansea, 2017-04-01)

#586

Woke up and went to make a coffeeven and shower, and lo and behold, no water. Can only think of all the stagnant toilets right now

(Bristol , 2017-04-02)

#590

My daughter is a student living here and I'm always being told everyday something is not working, this is getting stupid, any other landlord would have had to legally sort it by now!

(Gloucester , 2017-04-02)

#591

I disagree with the amount paid as it is not credible with the facilities provided

(Windsor, 2017-04-02)

#598

Weren't informed we would be living in the middle of a building site with highly inconsistent water, electricity, wifi. Lacks basic living conditions

(Exeter, 2017-04-02)

#599

It's outrageous that these students are getting sub standard conditions for a premium price

(Wigan, 2017-04-02)
