Premature leave

This petition is so we can get parents the right to be beside their premature child's incubator with the knowledge that they aren't using up their maternity leave worrying and fighting for their little ones life, and will be able to enjoy their maternity leave at home where both parent and child belong to form that special bond which will be with them both for the rest of their lives.

Mothers and fathers should have the legal right to start their maternity and paternity leave when their child is at home, and should not have to suffer any financial hardship or loss whilst their child is in hospital fighting for life. Both the government and employer should have a legal obligation to help and support any family that is going through the traumatic stresses and strains it has on them if their child was born prematurely and has to stay in hospital for a number of days, weeks or months.
