GROSVENOR LANE CARPARK- COLES DA

North Sydney Council at its 26 April 2023 meeting agreed to grant Owners Consent to Coles Group to incorporate Grosvenor Lane carpark into their DA proposal for the current supermarket site.

The owners of small businesses in the area are concerned that the Council has done so without consultation with dozens of small business owners directly affected, potentially abrogating their rights in law and contract, causing an irrevocable trading disadvantage. Meetings have been held between Councillors and Coles but not with us businesses and retailers.

We seek your support to stop Council from granting this Owners Consent and commence a thorough and meaningful discussion with the businesses in the area.

Councillors FOR the motion of granting Owners Consent to Coles were:

Mayor Zoe Baker

Deputy Mayor Godfrey Santer,

Crs MaryAnn Beregi,

Crs William Bourke,

Crs Shannon Welch and

Cr Georgia Lamb

Councillors AGAINST the motion:

Crs John Leopouris

Crs James Spenceley

Crs Ian Mutton

Crs Jilly Gibson
