Its up to all of the people to help protect our Glen..not interested in finger pointing at police or council..we need to work together and make positive changes if we want to carry on enjoying our park, too much has been lost allready through vandalism n selfishness.

i have been brought up on fun days down the glen then i did so with my family and grandkids .Surely soemthing can be done especially tougher laws on the vandals not a slap on the hand and behave but make them clean it and make them build walls bit hard labour might stop them doing it again and make them wear bright pink so all the public know they are the baddies like american jails do !! This beautiful Glen was gifted for the people dont let the minority waste it for the majority ,if you are there and see vandalism or neds misbehaving dont walk away not your problem phone the police then they will deal with it this needs the public's help to , not a , its someone else s problem walk away attitude .if the Glen was taken away and houses built you would moan so cant have it all ways stand up for it united front will at some point deter neds hopefully x

I was a teenager once many years ago. My friends and I had great fun in all areas of the Glen and we were a bit boisterous at times, but we never spoiled it the way it is being spoiled today. It is a sad reflection on today's society that young people these days have no respect for others in the way they act and destroy property for a quick laugh. Put in some covert cameras and act on the footage gained.

This has gone on for too long. I walk my dog in the glen nearly every day and it is slowly turning in to a rubbish strewn junkie hangout.

waste of space these delinquents, last year they burnt down part of the boundary around the greenhouse in the park where the big gardens are, as for the police they are a joke when it comes to something like this.

It's one of the things people in this town should feel proud about, and should look after. It's a shocking state of affairs to allow idiots to ruin it.

I was in the Glen today with my daughter and a friend with her children and seen the burnt swing. The Dunfermline area hasn't got much for kids as it is. It is such a shame that this destruction is going on.

It's sad that such a lovely area is being ruined.Due to the major housing development going on in the Dunfermline area, there are fewer and fewer places that people can go and chill out in nice surroundings, and now the one or two places that are left are being ruined by thugs, who it seems can't bear to see anything beautiful around them. Something really needs to be done to help save the park.

Can't believe what's happening at the park. I used to have great days out at the park and remember the pool we all used to paddle in. It's really sad to hear the news :(

Born and bred in Dunfermline. Loved visiting The Glen and still do when I visit Dunfermline. Remember all the Galas as a pupil and then a teacher. My own children also loved visiting the Glen. It would be heartbreaking for mindless people to destroy Andrew Carnegie's gift.

On a recent trip to the Glen, my 13 daughter made numerous comments about the bottles of Buckfast lying around.... pretty disgusting state for it to be in and a sad state of affairs when a young girl notices it all... Beautiful place to visit so something does need done!!

When I was a kid the extent of vandalism I think I ever committed was maybe writing my name on the stage. Something the was easily fixed with a lick of paint. We didn't destroy things for no reason. Things need to change.

I was born and brought up in Dunfermline and the 'Glen' will always have a place in my heart. My children were also introduced to the magic of this lovely park and hopefuly their children too but only if measures are put in place to maintain and secure it from mindless acts of vandalism. The Police in Fife could also set a curfew and fine/imprison anyone seen to be breaking this. Community Service conducted in the Glen would also make people think twice about vandalising it too.

I think it is disgusting that the minority of thugs have spoiled things for the majority of good law abiding people. Something has to be done. I have many happy memories of days put in the glen and would like to be able to take my grandson to the glen toake new memories and I wont let these thugs spoil that.

The hooligans that are destroying Pittencrief Park's infrastructure need to be apprehended, and made to make repairs under some kind of community payback order such as Mr McCaskill has mooted. Police need to spare more time and manpower to protect the great heritage that Andrew Carneigie gifted to the people of Dunfermline in perpetuity.
