Close DDT College of Medicine and Transfer Students to Accredited Institutions

We, the students of DDT College of Medicine, demand immediate action from the Botswana government to address the fraudulent and unethical practices of this institution.

DDT College of Medicine has misled students by offering unaccredited courses, falsely assuring them of quality education. In January 2025, we discovered through the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) website that the school lacks accreditation. Despite our efforts to engage with the management, we have faced threats, intimidation, and legal intimidation instead of solutions.

Our Demands:
1. Immediate Closure of DDT College of Medicine:The government must shut down this institution for operating without proper accreditation.
2. Transfer of All Students : All current students must be relocated to fully accredited schools without academic or financial penalties.
3. Clinical Rotations at Government Facilities : Students both going nd those already on clinical rotations must be allowed to practice at government approved hospitals and clinics.
4. Compensation for Graduates: Students who have graduated with unrecognized degrees must be either hired immediately or sponsored for further education.
5. Regulation of Private Institutions: The government must enforce strict laws to ensure transparency, democracy, and adherence to educational standards in all tertiary institutions.
6. Monthly Allowance Increment:The UDC led government must address delays in student allowance increases.

DDT College of Medicine is a symbol of authoritarianism, oppression, and human rights violations. The  SRC faces suspensions and bans when raising concerns.They are currently on a probation. We call on the government to act decisively and demonstrate its commitment to justice and quality education.
