The Crown is a very important part of the community and hobbling it could permanently harm it.

Bruce Kilner (Leeds , 2022-08-09)

#603

I’m signing this because I can’t believe what I’m reading and that a handful of people as always can ruin things for the majority
I also can’t believe the council don’t have better things to do than pursue what sounds like a very reasonable request ….
All these man hours required to monitor and put a case together for what amounts to a total of 8-12 hours of live music a year for good causes being held in a “public house”
I would have thought with the limited resource we are led to believe the council
now have their time could be utilised much more effectively impacting on many more than a very very small minority

How can the new forest show go ahead on this basis? Or the events at Woodside Park or the Seafood Festival that is held over several days with live music
Some serious perspective is called for here….

Sue Moore (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#607

Local pub with much needed live music. Supporting the local community

Rowan Totczyk (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#609

Small pubs need the support of the community. Also it's great to have some fun and live music. As long as it isn't all the time. Which it isn't xx

Samantha Holley (Lymington , 2022-08-09)

#615

You should never ever live near a venue that may emit noise occasionally

Paul Spacagna (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#616

A local pub is trying to raise money for charity and maintain its livelihood after the past two, difficult years. Many local people and visitors enjoy it. I believe it is an acceptable compromise, with near neighbours, to have live music twice a month in the afternoon

Deborah Minnock (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#622

Any live music / entertainment should be encouraged

Clare Crain (New milton, 2022-08-09)

#623

Although not a local resident of Everton I support the efforts being made to keep the pub running and providing entertainment for the community and support of charities. As a charity trustee I know how valued any help with fundraising is.

I live a short distance from the Beachcomber in Barton and have been delighted to have entertainment provided here and would be extremely disappointed if a similar notice was served upon them. Please NFDC support our local communities not object to their initiatives.

Lindsay Mills (Barton on Sea, 2022-08-09)

#625

I’m signing this because I am very happy for live music to continue at our local pub.

Alison Boulter (Everton, 2022-08-09)

#626

I live in the village and I see how much the Community has come together. I’m supporting out local pub as it has made an amazing turn around and this will unfortunately be a downward slope on their business

Benjamin Haley (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#627

Pubs are the heart of the community, the action being taken is disproportionate to the livelihood of the pub.

Paul Littlejohn (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#631

I support live music - and pubs.

Judy Kyle (Christchurch, 2022-08-09)

#632

Music brings people together, any decision to the contrary on this matter speaks volumes about those that make it.

Andrew Havard (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#634

I’m signing because we frequent the pub regularly with our family who live in horde, it’s generally a lovely afternoon/evening with everyone enjoying the music & soaking up the atmosphere. Why would you move near to a pub & then complain about its popularity??

Donna Jessop (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#638

A pub is part of the community, a place for meeting, conversation, music and some are keepers of history. It is part of the life of Britain. It is sad to see any pub closing down.

Roy Mills (Sydals, 2022-08-09)

#640

I know from first hand experience how important the local pub and its entertainment is critical for a small local community, take that opportunity away and the pub will potentially become just another statistic of a locked down boarded up building in a beautiful surrounding, the locals will have lost their 'local' meeting community establishment for it never to return, times have changed, business is tough, the pub needs, no, rephrase that to keep its life line open, do not cut it and kill it,
I am still curious as to why and how people buy a property near a pub and then complain.
Times do move on, let the pubs which are part of our British culture survive, please don't strangle them

Garry Bree (Barton on Sea, 2022-08-09)

#644

I am moving around the corner from this lovely place and would be upset if these events ceased. They bring together the community and for such good causes too.

Harley Smart (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#645

We should support local businesses surely a compromise could be reached

Bryan Colley (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#646

I am so fed up with the minority always getting their own way. Why cant people occasionally enjoy themselves. COME on all councils stop being so woke get a back bone

Leet Chandler (Christchurch , 2022-08-09)

#649

It’s good to see someone doing something for the community as well as for musicians, employment and general fun.

Michele Gale (Lymington , 2022-08-09)

#650

My Son is a musician and performing is his livelihood. Without pubs to perform in there are no events. My Dad, Ray Wilcox was born in Hordle/Everton and The Crown was his local. He loved listening to music at this venue. Neighbours should not buy a house next to a pub if they dont like the noise level!

Lucy Wilcox (Christchurch, 2022-08-09)

#651

The majority of people love live music and we should be supporting our pubs and musicians not being kill joys. I cant understand why you are trying to impose bans its a sorry state of affairs. Music and pubs go together if people complain why live near a pub in first place! Its ridiculous its come to this

sandra bentley (new milton, 2022-08-09)

#657

A regular user of the Crown, the 'noise' is not excessive and the live music does FAR more good than harm.

David Allen (Barton on Sea, 2022-08-09)

#658

Don’t buy a house near entertainment if you don’t want to be entertained.

Folbigg Sandra (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#660

I'm signing because I don't think a minority should have the power to spoil musical enjoyment for a majority. Or to endanger a person's livelihood

Nick Kenchington (Christchurch, 2022-08-09)

#661

It is very important for the hospitality industry and local community that these events are allowed to continue

John Kimber (New Milton , 2022-08-09)

#663

Everyone loves to hear music at their local, whether it be a band or a fantastic DJ!

John Towers (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#664

I feel all local businesses need as much support from the local community as possible especially after what they’ve have had to contend with over the last 2 years. Anybody who purchases a house in close proximity to a public house should take into account when buying that there will
be on occasions a certain
level of noise. We have lost so many public houses in the New Forest area already.

Jennie Ralph (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#669

It lovely to have a local pub playing live music.

Meg Heneghan (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#670

This is a village pub that has been here for many years.
We do not want it to close . Give it a chance to survive in these difficult times.

Kay Edgeworth (Hampshire, 2022-08-09)

#673

One person shouldn't stop everyone else’s fun. Music is an important factor in life and it shall play on.

#678

As long as not stupidly loud.... music cheers everyone up & we need cheering up after the lousy couple of years we have had!!

sue read (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#680

Absolutely love this pub. Live music here is always so successful and a pleasure to be around

Brooke Collins (Hampshire , 2022-08-09)

#681

Live music is essential for the future of pubs and creates such an amazing atmosphere

Sue Benoke (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#683

I’m signing because The Crown Inn is a delightful traditional village pub. It’s probably a lot older than the Residents complaining about a little bit of music. When I lived in Hordle we visited often. Residents need to be considerate of the struggles a Landlord has, especially at the moment. Please don’t let the minority close another pub down.

Catherine Skew (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#684

I believe music should be allowed at these venues why should the minority yet again get their way The pub has been there for years and needs to stay

Chrissy Gough (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#687

I'm signing because i love live music. Not only does it help raise money for charity, it also helps keep our local pubs in business.

Harpic Bryant (Brockenhurst, 2022-08-09)

#692

Support local business and enjoy live music

Sharon Woodrow (Christchurch , 2022-08-09)

#693

I regularly play music at this venue. I play for free at any fundraisers. The pub regularly raises money to help others and always respectful of cutoff times.

Nic Prioleau (Southampton , 2022-08-09)

#694

We all need a bit of music and fun in these sad times

Sheila Maund (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#697

Well-established business offering good food and service that is simply trying to survive.

Anita Gresham-Hale (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#702

I believe to keep this venue going and live music should still be allowed to proceed it's part of the local community hub and would be missed so many venues like this have had to close and are then left abandoned or built on

Tony Austin (New Milton , 2022-08-09)

#703

I feel Martin is very responsible manand I do t believe he would upset neighbours by playing the music after care few and we should have more live music in venues it brings life to the place and community togheder

Mariana Carr (Sway , 2022-08-09)

#706

Martin and his staff have created a wonderful community hub for locals and visitors to enjoy food, drinks and music . They have helped numerous charities raise thousands of pounds through music events . Shame on anyone who wants to complain about this outstanding effort !!

Caroline Noble (Milford on sea , 2022-08-09)

#712

Playing music at a pub is a British tradition, part of our way of life! A way for many years people have been brought together to be a COMMUNITY!! This isn't raucous party's it's social gathering which benefits all local people and is great for mental health and well-being

Alvin Robinson (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#714

I want the music licence to continue so the vast majority of the village can enjoy our afternoon/evenings at our local venue without it we will surely loose this lovely facility which will be the beginning of the demise of our village

Ken Kilford (Lyminton , 2022-08-09)

#719

I love live music and village pubs so rock on

ruth bainton (Bournemouth , 2022-08-09)

#720

People shouldn't move somewhere and complain.

Sue Hudson (New Milton , 2022-08-09)

#725

It’s a brilliant pub and raises loads for charities

Tina Fielderpage (Southampton , 2022-08-09)

#726

I believe that live music in pubs, hotels, restaurants and similar venues is beneficial for happiness and wellbeing of people in the community and also is good for valuable local trade.

Brian Mills (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#727

I believe the Crown Inn has brought our community back together. It offers a wide range for all ages to enjoy. Living next door to the pub it is great to see how the music brings everyone together.

Charlie Ryde (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#728

I remember the exact same thing happening to the ( woodpecker) oak and yaffle , Ashley now a few houses

Len Bungard (Bourmouth, 2022-08-09)

#729

I am local to the Crown and fully support the use of live music and various events during the year the music does not go on late and surely its good that people are enjoying themselves x

Ann Spriggs (Everton, 2022-08-09)

#732

I’m signing because it is absolutely ridiculous to think live music events can’t go ahead due to a minority. Music brings communities and ages together and happiness to many.

Marie Spriggs (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#733

It brings people to the pub the music is so enjoyable and it’s never on for very long or to late. I cannot believe people do not like it!

Julie Harris (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#736

The council is a joke

Jay Delahunty (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#738

Old people can’t take over everything

Isaac Trovato (Lymington , 2022-08-09)

#739

We need live music in our community

Simon White (Lymington , 2022-08-09)

#741

It’s nice to have live music, people who work hard and practice should have places to show off their talents!

Bryan Steele (Lymington , 2022-08-09)

#742

I am signing because four complainants should not be allowed to hold a popular pub which raises money for charity to ransom. The pub has been there a lot longer than them I would imagine.

Marian Rickman (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#743

Because we love going to the Cliff House, not only for the excellent food, staff, atmosphere & sometimes live music overlooking the fantastic scenery- what more does a body need!!!

Angela Higgs (Reading , 2022-08-09)

#745

I believe a few miserable people shouldn't be able to ruin a business that is part of a community and whose events bring joy and jobs to many.

Andrea Smith (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#746

Live music helps with happiness and depression . It great to be able to socialise again . We need to support our local pubs or we will loose them .

Lorraine wallis (Highcliffe, 2022-08-09)

#749

Live music brings joy to the local community - it's fantastic that The Crown supports and encourages local musicians…. Why is there alway a few that feel the need to spoil it for the rest ..

Nicky Ryde (Everton , 2022-08-09)

#750

This Pub has been a big part of my life having live in Everton through most of lock-down. It’s the beating heart of Everton village and a real joy bringer that has helped bring the community together through what has been a tough couple of years. The new owners are wonderful and have really helped bring the excitement and happiness to the village throughout the village. The music has been an integral part to this. The pub has lit up the community with such happiness and brought everyone together in a way that was unimaginable at times. Even my grand parents love to go up and listen to a good band, have a sing along and be on there way. So many different demographics come to enjoy what this wonderful happy place has on offer and it’s a lifeline to anyone lonely, needing a conversation or indeed a sing along. The music has very sensible hours and never goes late into the evening. It is very upsetting that someone would want to spoil it. The music also helps to fund raise for particular charities, and gives back to local communities, which is fantastic for such a small pub. Do not let the voices of a few people disrupt the happiness of a 1000.

Hamish Ryde (Winchester , 2022-08-09)

#752

Music is an essential part of everyone’s lives. It is noise pollution.

Stuart Prior (Barton On Sea, 2022-08-09)

#756

I’m signing because I think the pub is crucial to the wellbeing of the village. I live two doors away from the pub and have no issues with the live music.

Andrew Ryde (LYMINGTON, 2022-08-09)

#757

I am signing because this pub does a lot for charity and having live music is part of it.

Penny Gayler (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#758

We need to keep local pubs for visitors and locals. When the people near by are complaining reference the pub they knew it was there. (Long before them).

Brian Crouch (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#762

Why move near a pub then be upset about the noise from the pub.. if I was going to be a problem then maybe living near a pub isn't for you ... nimby!!!

Brian Dickinson (New Milton , 2022-08-09)

#765

It is vital, both for the sake of live music and promoting new talent. Also we must protect our heritage of local pubs and give them every chance to survive.

Peter Ive (Broadstone , 2022-08-09)

#768

I feel it is only a few disgruntled people that want to spoil it for the majority...let the music continue.

Steve Leach (New Milton. , 2022-08-09)

#769

Full disclosure - I haven't lived in the local area for a number of years - I moved to Bournemouth around 25 years ago. However, my parents still live in New Milton and I have many friends who still reside in the surrounding villages including Everton, Tiptoe, Bashley and Hordle. Live music is, in my view, an essential and valued part of a local pub and it's connection to community life. It is also not age- exclusive ie good music and fun appeals to most regardless of age. Live music not only supports local bands and musicians but in this particular case it goes beyond that and is raising valuable money for charity in a time where cost of living and covid has seriously impacted us all. Pubs are on the decline unfortunately, and in the case of a village may be the only social aspect of some community members' lives. From what I understand, the music is occurring during the day (at the weekend!) and is not on a regular basis. I cannot understand how this has caused such a problem for the complainants. Would they contact the council if their neighbour had an occasional afternoon bbq with music playing in the garden? The whole thing seems like a madness and from what I have read and heard from local friends, the team at the Crown are very mindful and considerate of their neighbours. Please consider this my full support for the team who are, like us all, trying to support the local community, sustain not only their business but a village commodity and have a bit of fun doing it.

Karen Rees (BOURNEMOUTH, 2022-08-09)

#770

You choose to live near a pub so grin n bare it.

Sue Street (Lymington, 2022-08-09)

#778

Pub is a happy place I've seem the pub when music is on and it's fantastic, people having fun is what we need

Kris Locke (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#779

I'm so saddened that this is even happening, especially after the last couple of years and when money is being raised for such good causes. I have seen first hand the awful destruction of Alzheimers and am appalled that people would want to prevent harmless but essential charitable events taking place and crush the community in this way, not to mention ceasing an opportunity for musicians to have a space to be heard and for the community to be brought together. Maybe these people need to move elsewhere if they don't want to be a part of a happy and giving community.

Anna Payne (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#780

I’m signing because we are the Walker arms in new Milton we’ve had a number of letters and visits about our bands and discos and every time we within limits it’s only one or two people moaning !

Kerry Farrington (New Milton, 2022-08-09)

#783

Music is uplifting for many especially in these difficult times and in the process money is being raised for charity so it can only be a good thing. Without a doubt the Crown should be allowed to continue to play music.

Carol Fordham (Hordle, 2022-08-10)

#794

One expects music at pubs occasionally. I am sure the pub was there before many of the complainers moved nearby. Small businesses such as the pub need to do what they can to survive.

Adrian Soutter (Lymington , 2022-08-10)

#797

I feel the crown at Everton should be able to have live music
