Santa Clara University COVID-19 Booster Mandate

I am a trained scientist and understand this process better than most. The current strain of Covid had been conclusively demonstrated to be less virulent than previous strains and poses no significant threat to young adults. Furthermore, all current scientific evidence points to the fact that those with a previous Covid infection have a robust immunity equivalent to, if not better than that of the vaccine. For an individual who has had two doses of the vaccine and also contracted Covid, is therefore completely protected against infection for at least 3-6 months. Therefore it is completely unreasonable to require a third dose of vaccine for healthy individuals with robust immunity. I would even say that this requirement is not only ridiculous scientifically, it is wasteful morally reprehensible. In a world where many countries are losing people due to the lack of a availability of vaccines, it is sinful to waste these much needed doses on healthy college students who can easily withstand an infection, when they could be used to inoculate vulnerable populations in other countries. Please remove this unreasonable, non-sensical, illogical, wasteful and immoral requirement. I will otherwise consider transferring to a different institution where policy is made based on science and not paranoia.

Given the wonderful diversity of humanity on the outside and in, one size never fits all medically.

Vaccine mandates are unconstitutional!! These are experiments on living, healthy young people who now have a greater chance of dying and/or being permanently disabled with your blessings!

I am truly nauseated by the videos and stories of the absolutely healthy youths that f our nation dropping dead because they accepted an EXPERIMENTAL VACCINE.

I would not agree to let my teens enroll in a university that force them take unsafe vaccines.

My son has antibodies which have been proven (see reports by Johns Hopkins) to be more effective against the virus than this vaccines and boosters. Please do not mandate that he get a booster.

Julia Walsh (Greenwood Village, 2022-02-04)

I'm signing because mandating any of these useless vaccines is morally and constitutionally unacceptable. Especially for people who are not harmed by the actual virus. If the vaccine worked then only the people who were at risk should get it. But we know that they do not work yet you are still forcing kids to inject poison into their bodies and be vulnerable to the greater harm that the vaccines cause especially to young people.

I’m signing this because my son was fully vaccinated and boosted as required by SCU. When he returned to campus is Jan 2022, he caught Covid anyway. He has since recovered. Clearly the vaccine does prevent ‘getting’ or ‘giving’ Covid. These students should not continue to be required to get boosters

There should be no mandates.

My daughter has had a prior anaphylactic reaction to vaccines. Her allergist told us she has a 20% risk of a life threatening reaction to future vaccines. Even though she meets the CDC criteria for a medical exemption, so far 3 doctors have refused one because they fear losing their medical license (their words to me). The mandates pose SIGNIFICANT dangers to some students and should not be "one size fits all".

Crystal Jones (Carlisle, 2022-02-05)

I don't think the c-19 vaccine/boost should be mandatory. People should have freedom to choose based on their conviction. Especially some negative side effects have already been shown. We are very concerned.

Crimes against humanity and we are keeping track of the offenders. regardless of their legal opinion they are wrong. just because the legal community hasn't caught up with the evidence they will soon come around. the evidence is clear. Coercion is a crime under emergency authorization act. Also a crime to administer poison. This vaccine has been proven to be just that. tracking lot numbers it has been found certain lots are death shots. Real simple stuff if you search away from google facebook. Which is whole story of propaganda & censorship.
Why did Canada order 12 shots per person.
Also it is the law to be able to have a religious exemption.
This is sinister and will never be forgotten. You are all finding a bad place in history. This will be a kin to the nazi experiments but way worse. The scale is so profound yet you want to add on. fools. May justice find you quickly and the republic never remember you except the lesson to never again be manipulated to depopulation agenda. Now you can join the criminals or do what lawful.

Booster do not provide the level of protection that natural immunity does which has been proven by the CDC.

I do not want my students to get the booster shot for treasons mentioned above.

Loretta Castillo (San Jose, 2022-02-06)

Unnecessary risk to our students with no validated benefit: according to the CDC(Hospitalization and Death By Age study updated Jan 31., 2022 show that 18 to 29 year olds have the largest cumulative number of Covid cases but cases don’t result in hospitalization or mortality. Yet in the study published by Tracy Hoeg, PhD, heart damage requiring hospitalization in cases per million, is significantly higher(especially young men) post vaccination of this same cohort. Bottom line, the risk of the shot/booster is much greater than the risk of the virus. Additionally, they(unvaccinated) don’t carry any higher risk to those around them as it has been proven that both vaccinated AND unvaccinated can still pass along the virus. Let the students decide for themselves if they want to take the vaccine.

It’s my individual decision not the universities because getting the booster doesn’t prevent me transmitting the disease to others.

Emma Reeves (Santa Clara , 2022-02-06)

I do not believe in vaccine mandates.

LINDSIE JONES (LOS GATOS, 2022-02-06)

I'm signing because I strongly believe in the position set forth in this petition. I would like our son, a current SCU student, who has recovered from a confirmed case of Covid19 and has been previously vaccinated in compliance with SCU requirements, to be exempt for the booster. SCU should not require this unnecessary booster. The risks outweigh the benefit for the general student population. It should be an opt-in by individual students as needed or desired.

As a health care professional and parent of college age kids, I feel that when there is risk, there must be choice. These kids have a 99.97% survival rate. Enough is enough!

Amanda Patterson (Evansville, IN, 2022-02-08)

My kids are all vaccinated. They have all had Covid. My daughter had a bad reaction to the vaccine. Let’s stop with the continuous mandates. Enough is enough. Kids this age are not dying. It’s time to treat Covid like the flu.

My daughter is a sophomore who had Covid this quarter.

Todd Ackerman (Half Moon Bay, 2022-02-09)

#84

I am signing because I believe the vaccine mandates are unconstitutional. Additionally, fully vaccinated individuals can get CoVid, spread Covid and become hospitalized from Covid. I know this first hand from my experience with Covid. As top university SCU should be open to educating the students about a healthy life and what is the best way to treat Covid.

Joanne Bannan Vogt (Gilbert, 2022-02-09)

For reasons stated in the petition, natural immunity is being ignored. The health of family who are students is most important. There is not a one size fits all solution and ignoring each person uniqueness is certainly against the teachings of Jesus.

I have 5 yes 5 grandchildren at the University
Who ALL meet the “bullet proof with hybrid immunity” criteria.

The COVID jab is experimental. There is no current emergency therefore it should not be mandated. Also, look at VAERS to see that young healthy people are at more risk of complications from the experimental jab then with out. Also, if you were to check T cell immunity. The likelihood is that a vast majority of people are immune and do not need this experimental jab.

Ximena Vierra (Louisville , 2022-02-11)

My son got real covid not omicron in May of 2020. HE HAS FULL IMMUNITY. He got the now non approved J&an jab so he could continue his education. No more shots. They obviously do NOT work

Aric Clawson (Phoenix , 2022-02-11)

#102

I do not believe it is right or just to force our children to booster. The shots come with inherent risks and because my son has been vaccinated and had Covid I do not believe it is safe for him to receive the booster. I also believe that he/we as a family should be allowed to weigh the risk/benefits for this shot and decide for ourselves if it’s worth it.

Colettr Donnelly (Morrison, 2022-02-12)

You're not respecting people's right to choice or recognizing the studies that show the reasoning behind these vaccinations might be inaccurate.

Tara Stauber (Danville, 2022-02-17)

This vaccine mandate policy has nothing to do with science, and even now no longer matters in politics. This is silly and very unfair to the young students when Covid is not a pandemic anymore
