Chelsea Wallace (Edinburgh, 2021-07-10)

There needs to be consequences for anyone allowing their dog to inflict injury or death to another animal.

Carole Sword (Edinburgh, 2021-07-10)

#24

If the dog is a repeat offender and owners are lapse of his control...the animal should be put to sleep... its killing other folks dogs that are members of there family... i would be devastated if i found out the dog has killed before and nothing done about it

Jason Mcferin (Edinburgh, 2021-07-10)

#25

I’m signing because it was my baby that got killed and no other person or dog should have to go through that

Terri Martin (Edinburgh, 2021-07-10)

This dog needs put down and is clearly a danger to humans and other animals

Fiona Watt (Edinburgh, 2021-07-11)

#36

I strongly agree that if an animal is attacked and killed by another then the animal responsible should be destroyed. This viscous dog needs to be put down immediately before it attacks again!

Lindsay Potts (Edinburgh , 2021-07-11)

#39

I believe that if a dog attacks and kills another, that dog is dangerous and should be put down. Their is no difference if a dog attacks and takes a humans life, a life is a life.

Things need to change

Wendy Cleary (Edinburgh, 2021-07-11)

#42

There has to be more measures put in place to prevent this from happening again..
Be it financial penalties for irresponsible owners / having aggressive dangerous dogs euthanized..

Michael Grubb (Edinburgh, 2021-07-11)

#50

Owners of vicious and uncontrollable dogs should be made to have them on leads and muzzled. Allowing other dogs to be mauled by them is not acceptable. Owners need to be held accountable for the actions of their dogs.

Gwen Kerr (East Lothian, 2021-07-12)

#53

Dogs that can,t be trusted should be on a lead and muzzled at all times
It is sad the way that poor dog died

Tracey May (Truro, 2021-07-12)

I have a small dog and terrified it happens to her.

Tallulah Pollock (Edinburgh, 2021-07-12)

I’m signing because I think dogs that kill a other animal are dangerous and need to be put to sleep for the protection of other animals and children

Sian prince (Livingston, 2021-07-12)

#60

Too many anti social / aggressive dogs not even muzzled attacking other dogs and their owners.

Linda Bell (Edinburgh , 2021-07-12)

#64

I’m signing because my dog was attacked and nothing could be done as owners were unknown to me . Dog warden could do nothing and police refused to do anything due to no person being hurt !

The trauma still lives with me today and these dangerous biting vicious dogs go free. The owners laughed in my face ! They knew their dogs to be vicious and Actively encouraged bad behaviour obviously. I would hate for this awful massively distressing attack happen to anyone else . Not to mention the vet costs and worry about another attack in future if nothing ever happens to owners or dogs !

Too many irresponsible owners with vicious dogs off lead and attacks are too commonplace .

Karen Brown (Tranent, 2021-07-12)

#70

I’m signing because the same horrible stuff was happening to our dog.. We decided to move out of Leith because of that. The last time he got attacked by the neighbours staffie was so traumatising, I’ll never forget it. Few seconds more and we would lost him.
These dogs should be kept only by responsible owners.

Martyna Kamecka (Edinburgh , 2021-07-12)

#78

I am a responsible dog owner and can't believe a dog like that with bad behaviour is allowed out without wearing a muzzle

Stewart Macdonald (Edinburgh, 2021-07-13)

#80

That could have been a child bad enough a dog

Emma Docherty (Edinburgh, 2021-07-13)

#81

I’m signing this petition as a dog owner. Our dogs should have some kind of protection from vicious dogs with useless owners.

Lynne Doig (Edinburgh, 2021-07-13)

#83

My dog was attacked twice by the same Staffie. Fortunately, in my case not fatally injured. Poor little Chicco

Deborah Greenwood (Heywood, 2021-07-13)

#84

the dog should be destroyed so it cannot do this to other dogs and worse a child.

Lynne Cameron (edinburgh, 2021-07-13)

#85

These dogs are trained to be vicious by their owners. Both should be put down.

C A Roden (Lytham St Annes Lancs, 2021-07-13)

#86

There’s too many of these attacks and too many much loved pets are being killed.

Jeannieg Gallacher (Renfrew, 2021-07-13)

#87

This is something that needs to be addressed. My dogs are my family and I would be devastated if this happened to me. Thoughts are with Gail.

Kerryanne Cook (Cumnock , 2021-07-13)

#89

I think there should be certain breeds that should be muzzled at all times in public places

Eileen Maloney (Maybole, 2021-07-13)

#96

These attacks are utterly despicable and unfortunately common. It is disgusting that people and pets are not adequately protected by law and that police and other agencies do not use or have suitable means to prevent such attacks. Events like this end lives of beloved pets, cause long lasting emotional harm to people and leave dangerous dogs able to attack more pets and potentially people.

Vivienne Vine (Rutherglen glasgow, 2021-07-13)

#98

I am sick and tired of reading about one dog attack after another and the law does nothing. My little dog was attached by a Staffordshire bull terrier and German Shepard while he was in the lead and all I got was abuse from both owners luckily my husband was with me and kicked one dog till it let go. I was always worried about larger dogs not on leads or Under control. Its time this chagrd

Andrea Dean (Stoke-on-Trent , 2021-07-13)

A few year ago a guide dog went for my wee pomeranian and nothing got done. Any dangerous dog wether it be a guide dog or a pet needs to be taken from owner

helen stuart (Largs, 2021-07-13)

#109

If there is a dog killing other dogs & cats without provocation it should definitely be put to sleep. Everyone's animal is a family member & should be treated as such.

Carol Burnside (Oban, 2021-07-13)

#113

To many times have I read these horrific attacks it could have been a child all dogs should be kept on leads and monitored if they are aggressive p

Lynne Falconer (Glasgow, 2021-07-13)

Whilst I am not an animal lover
I am a believer in justice for all..More especially for animal lovers who treat pets as family members.

Dogs who attack and kill another dog should be put to sleep.

Lesley Payne (Paisley , 2021-07-13)

#118

The Law needs to change!

Suzie Wilson (Loanhead, 2021-07-13)

#120

The owner must be held accountable for their dogs action what if God forbid it is a child next time 😥

Theresa Fraser (Pathhead, 2021-07-13)

#125

I think the law needs to get tougher on this, this is such a tragedy and should never have happened! Owners need to take responsibility for their dogs at all times! If your dog becomes a danger to others then it should be on a lead at all times and muzzled in case it breaks free has in this case, if it goes on to attack and kill another dog or a person then it should be destroyed! Once they have attacked like that you can not trust them! They will do it again!

Lynn Casey (Manchester , 2021-07-13)

#127

I don't want this to happen again

Michael Nellany (Glasgow, 2021-07-13)

The owners of dogs that do harm to others need to be made accountable,it is usually the owners at fault.

Rosemary Gray (St.Albans, 2021-07-13)

#134

Such a horrendous thing to happen. Action needs to be taken against irresponsible dog owners. The dog could easily kill again

Angela Miller (Methil, 2021-07-13)

#137

There needs to be accountability to these owners of these dogs. It’s the owners that are not being held responsible.

Penny Semon (Indianapolis , 2021-07-13)

#140

This is a truly horrific and emotional story.
I own two dogs, one being a chihuahua. For a larger dog to attack and kill another dog, human or any other animal is unacceptable. In many countries the aggressive dog would have been put down. This shouldn’t only happen when they attack humans.
The dog and it’s owner are obviously a danger to others.

Pina Bourne (Feltham, 2021-07-14)

#141

Dangerous dogs should be under control. Owners are responsible for their dogs actions. I live in fear of this happening to my family.

Rachel Addams (Edinburgh, 2021-07-14)

#142

I am absolutely disgusted that this vicious dog hasn’t been destroyed after mauling poor Chicco to death!. And is allowed to return back to its owner!!

Robert Wilson (Birmingham , 2021-07-14)

Sometimes the law needs to change, This is a perfect example.

Matty Duncan (edinburgh, 2021-07-14)

#145

Dogs owners are out of control in this country

Robert Devine (Stirling, 2021-07-14)

#147

Sadly no one wins here. I am heartbroken over reading what happened to your precious dog. No one should endure this especially innocent animals . If nothing is done about the dangerous dog it might be a small child next. Do we have to read about another animal or child dying at the hands of a dangerous dog..please do the right thing

Kelly Murray (Flushing, 2021-07-14)

#149

I’m signing because I live in the same area and I have 2 young border collies and therefore I’m wanting to make sure my 2 as well as any other dog in my area is safe!

Janis Hay (Edinburgh, 2021-07-14)

#151

This is so terrible, can’t imagine the fear and pain little Chico felt, I have a little chihuahua myself and know how super and loving they are. God bless you little man and your family.

Maureen Ball (Walsall , 2021-07-14)

#153

I'm signing because the police and the dog warden pass the buck between them someone has to take accountability

Lesley Paterson (FALKIRK, 2021-07-14)

#154

My dog was attacked by a dog off the lead.

Shirley O’Shea (Devon , 2021-07-14)

#155

If this had been a child would the dog be destroyed. What's the difference as Chicco was a much loved family member.

Maureen Doyle (Livingston, 2021-07-14)

#157

This is shocking and I am so sorry for your loss. This dog should be put to sleep ( next time it could be a child ) and the owner prosecuted.

Linda Tobin (Strathdon, 2021-07-14)

#158

These type of attacks are happening with no repercussions on thr dog or the owner, my own dog was viciously attacked by a staffie also & nothing was done even though it was passed onto police as it was a very aggressive attack.....

Claire Ralton (Glasgow , 2021-07-14)

#161

In memory of wee Chicco. I feel strongly that you should be able to walk your pet without fear from dogs that are off lead and the owner is not in control. In the event of an attack, the owner should be prosecuted.

Alison Boyle (Cumbernauld, 2021-07-14)

#162

There is 2 many dangerous dog out there that owners can't control I now a few

Ian Shiels (Edinburgh, 2021-07-14)

#168

The owner of the attacking dog should be held responsible! What if it was a human he attacked?

Patricia Dragan (Edinburgh, 2021-07-14)

#169

It is happening far too often and the owners walk away free, something needs to be done.

Lorraine Ashley (Northampton , 2021-07-15)

#171

Dog owners have to be made to take responsibility. If a dog is killed in an unprovoked attack the perpetrator should be put down.

Elizabeth Kerr (London, 2021-07-15)

#173

I have a dog and have encountered similar instances of dogs going for my dog who is always on a lead. The law needs to change so owners take more responsibility

Donna Campbell (Bathgate , 2021-07-15)

#174

I would like to see stiffer punishment for irresponsible dog owners, including jail time for those that injure other people, it is comparable to having a loaded weapon.

Janice Gallagher (Glasgow , 2021-07-15)

#176

I'm signing this because there is far too many dogs being ripped apart by other dogs all because people have no idea how to train a dog properly. If a dog attacks another dog it should be put to sleep, taken off the owner and harsh punishment issued to the irresponsible owner.

Elizabeth Douglas (Tain, 2021-07-15)

#178

I had the same situation happen with my Westie Casper a month and a half ago, we were attacked by a pit bull and an akita. The owner was allowed to keep the dogs, even though the pit had previously attacked. I’m so sorry for this woman’s loss, it’s heartbreaking and isn’t something you can ever recover from. ❤️

Amanda Ingram (Palatine, 2021-07-15)

#179

I’m terrified of this happening to anyone else’s dog including my own fur baby

Barbara Ellison (Tyne and Wear , 2021-07-15)

#180

I too had my little dog attacked by a staffie, I wholeheartedly hold the owner responsible and I dearly hope one day his dog will turn its aggression on the owner

Debbie Platt (Kent, 2021-07-16)

#184

There is far too many attacks b y dogs and nothing done about it.My dog is my baby and my life. Its time someth Ik ng was done!! So so sorry for your lose my heart breaks for you.

Linda Scott (Kilwinning, 2021-07-17)

#185

I’m shocked that nothing is being done about this terrible situation. Everyone has the right to walk their dogs safely.

Katie Hollister (Aultbea, 2021-07-17)

#191

I am scared to take my flags for a walk for the fear of them being attacked. It’s happening all too often and nothing is being done about it. Family’s are heartbroken and torn apart. The law must change to allow the police to charge owners for dog on dog attacks.

Jacqueline Sullivan (Glasgow , 2021-07-18)

#197

A staffy has attacked me and my 10 month old German Shepherd a few months ago in front of the shop. Police and city council could do nothing about it. I was bit as well as my dog in unprovoked silent attack.

Anna Ray (Portsmouth , 2021-07-21)

#199

I'm signing this petition as what this family have had to endure by their pet being attacked and killed by another out of control dog is heartbreaking. This dog had attacked before and now it's killed another dog so action needs to be taken now before it's too late and a child or person is seriously hurt.
