I used to have to walk my terrified dog 2 miles out of our village as a child to save her from the awful racket

Dave Harris (Bicester, 2020-10-25)

#5208

There is no need to put entertainment for people ahead of animal welfare.

William Taylor (Southend on Sea, 2020-10-25)

#5210

Fireworks are a deadly torture for wildlife and domestic animals and cause untold trauma as well as loss of life and damage to property, an unnecessary evil.

Linda Wood (Nottingham, 2020-10-25)

#5211

The distress fireworks cause for countless domesticated and wild animals each year is horrendous. Nocturnal animals often are unable to feed during this period.

Charlotte Lawrence (Huddersfield, 2020-10-25)

#5212

It's time we, the human race, grew up and start being responsible for our actions.
We know fireworks cause so much stress and sometimes death to animals including wild ones, not to mention the affect it they have on the environment...and yet ...places such as this are chosen to have a large display regardless of the animals in the surrounding area!
You could of course have SILENT ones..bit I'm guessing you wouldn't find that fun would you?
What is the celebration for?
Celebrating people who wanted to blow up parliament...!

Michele Jackson (PLYMOUTH, 2020-10-25)

#5213

Fireworks are noisy and dangerous to both animals as well as humans.

Gillian Hargreaves (Northampton, 2020-10-25)

#5214

It is completely inappropriate for the proposed fireworks to take place in such an area & it should be moved to a more suitable venue urgently. Given COVID-19 I really don’t thing firework displays should be taking place currently as the emergency services are needed elsewhere.

Liza Rathbone (Durham , 2020-10-25)

#5217

I think fireworks have had their day...we all understand the downside of these displays (and could fireworks of the future be bang free?)...it is inexcusable to cause death, injury and terror to both animals and wildlife. Many people feel deep apprehension when the firework ‘season’ starts ...in fact, it goes on all year now. At a time like this, it is the last thing we should be doing: letting hard won funds or personal resources go up in smoke!

Linda Johns (Newmarket, 2020-10-25)

#5218

I care about the animals!

Jacqueline Sanderson (London, 2020-10-25)

#5221

I know how distressed animals are by fireworks

Jan Palmer (Nottingham, 2020-10-25)

#5225

I’m signing because my dogs is terrified of fireworks and there should be a limit on when and how long they can be used. People set off fireworks at any time they like, spread over a number of weeks, around this time of year and I have to help my dog recover from unnecessary noise. It’s terrible for animals in fields or in the wild too. It’s so unfair.

Liz Crawford (Lancaster , 2020-10-25)

#5229

Major problem for pets too it's not just 1night this can go on for several weeks before and after 5th Nov and it seems to have been adopted at New Year too then at various individual celebrations people have Get it stopped

ANGELA MCBRIDE (Johnstone, 2020-10-25)

#5230

i believe its not fare to the animals

barry smith (Clacton-on-sea, 2020-10-25)

#5231

Animals and people can and do suffer from the effects of loud and very loud fireworks. Animals especially even from a distance. It's a great pity that I am struggling with persons on West Mersea to acknowledge this fact.

Dec Jarvis (West Mersea, 2020-10-25)

#5232

Domestic livestock, pets and wild animals need to be given proper consideration and protection from unnecessary distress when planning for fireworks displays.

Lorna Syme (Aberdeen, 2020-10-25)

#5236

Please relocate fireworks away from these animals

Felicity Tanous (Hassocks, 2020-10-25)

#5239

Enough is enough

Julie Hartley (Blackpool, 2020-10-25)

#5248

I have seen animals terrified by fireworks. They should not be set off near stables , farms or residential housing. Please rearrange this event well away from vulnerable animals and people. Thank you

Annette Day (Huddersfield, 2020-10-25)

#5253

The risk to livestock pets and wildlife ect

Cheryl Everson (Essex, 2020-10-26)

#5263

I have stressed animals every year

Lauren Dodds (Weeley heath, 2020-10-26)

#5267

Firework displays are far too noisy and frightening for most animals.

Heather Whatmore (Ringwood, 2020-10-26)

#5270

Fireworks should be regulated , they can hurt , kill , & mame . Yes they are a part of our celebratory freedom . Only in the wrong hand's they can be deadly . Stop The Cruelty!!!

Cindy Pelkey (Canoga Park, 2020-10-26)

#5281

Too many animals are mentally and physically harmed by insensitively planned firework events which should not run on multiple nights if they are deemed to go ahead once abiding stricter fireworks rules/legislation which would also protect the needless accidents to inexperienced people.

Louise Lury (Ilminster, 2020-10-26)

#5283

There are animals in fields in surrounding areas

Hayleigh Hammond (Manningtree, 2020-10-27)

#5285

I totally abhor the use of fireworks as a
mean of celebration or anything else.
It is incredibly selfish, uncivilized, unnecessary disruption to a peaceful environment. Good luck with the petition

Sandy Goodall (Johannesburg, 2020-10-27)

#5288

I'm worried about the wildlife and domestic animals + pollution fireworks cause.

Helen Meikle (Isleworth, 2020-10-27)

#5289

I’m signing as I’m an animal lover and am suck of reading or hearing about the pain and suffering fireworks cause to innocent animals.
SILENT FIREWORKS are the way to go, many countries use them, we can then all enjoy them, including animals domestic and wild, that way there are no 💔

Gill Brown (Brechin, 2020-10-27)

#5290

I care more about a animals' wellbeing than fireworks, even though I love watching them.

Dianne Smith (Shipston on Stour, 2020-10-27)

#5291

Fireworks cause fear and distress in animals which is completely avoidable

Charlotte Howe (Darlington , 2020-10-27)

#5293

Animals should not be subjected to this kind of fear educin g noise

Vince Kelly (Towcester, 2020-10-27)

#5299

I believe the fireworks causes unimaginable problems for the animals and adults

Edwina Holman (London, 2020-10-27)

#5300

It is important.

Kerry parkinson (wakefield, 2020-10-27)

#5304

I feel wildlife definitely needs our protection from fireworks.

Alison Blakeley (Stockton-on-Tees, 2020-10-28)

#5313

Fireworks should be banned in my opinion. They terrify animals and some people. If they are to be used then it should not be in a location where there are animals. All fireworks should be silent and should only be used for public displays and only by people who are trained to use them and who are certifified to do so.

Francine Quinn (Blackpool, 2020-10-28)

#5314

I hate to think of suffering animals that don't understand

Sam Hayward (Barnham , 2020-10-28)

#5315

A few hours of 'entertainment' at The Wheeley Car Boot Site through holding a fireworks display causes unjustifiable distress and even death to other living beings nearby - both animal and human. It's time for a more caring and informed attitude to be adopted by the organisers. Please cancel this venue or even better, cancel such displays altogether. Thank you.

Corinne Moore (PO20 2FL, 2020-10-28)

#5317

It doesnt matter where it is, fireworks have to be controlled. Events should be organised on one day only, advertised so that people like me with frightened dogs know when it is and the noise level should be reduced as fireworks are far too loud. Also not sold to individuals only organised displays. Im sick of having to deal with a dog that is so frightened that he tries to dig himself through the floor and knocks over furniture in an attempt to escape. He can be dosed with diazepam if I know when it is, but they dont just go off on the night itself, it is all the time. Two consecutive nights as in the Weeley fireworks is unecessary and not fair to animal owners or frightened elderly or children. Give it a rest! Join the national campaign to get it regulated.

Catherine Pammenter (Tongham, 2020-10-28)

#5323

I am a dog owner and have seen the terror and harm fireworks do to animals.

Stewart Lawrie (Perth, 2020-10-29)

#5327

The proposed firework display will inflict an intolerable amount of suffering on the animals and community nearby.

Matthew Bentley (Basingstoke, 2020-10-29)

#5330

Fireworks are extremely dangerous & terrify animals. No

denise.may@live.co.uk WILSON (LLANDUDNO JUNCTION, 2020-10-29)

Thoughtless cruelty so close to these poor animals.

Patricia Morris (Elmstead , 2020-10-29)

#5333

i am very worried about the effect the stress has on all animals the firework season gets longer every year and the noise is of an unacceptable level with some of the privately sold ones

susan howard (Leeds, 2020-10-29)

#5334

Just move it please - it's really not that hard.

Til Kaynind (Penryn, 2020-10-29)

#5335

More people against this than for it.

Natalie Pengelly (Penryn, 2020-10-30)

#5336

Please show some common sense here.

Will Stevens (Falmouth, 2020-10-30)

#5337

Fireworks cause too much damage to the environment and the health & well-being of so many animals, companion and livestock, as well as potential damage to buildings

Zoe Day (Okehampton, 2020-10-30)

#5345

There are horses in the field opposite, plus my 3rescue animals are terrified.

Anita Strachan (Essex, 2020-10-31)

#5353

I am signing because I believe fireworks should only be used as a public event and well away from any houses and farms with livestock

Sara Wood (Shepshed, 2020-11-02)

To save animals from the nightmare that Bonfire night is for them, in particular this one at Wesley.

Don Allen (Stockton-on-Tees, 2020-11-03)

I feel very strongly about idiots letting off fireworks weeks before guy fawkes my dog is terrified of bangs and that's all they are is bangs ,if they want to hear loud bangs they should join the army.

Tom Coppolo (COLCHESTER, 2020-11-04)

To many horses are dieing from firework nearly every night it as to stop

Carol Needham (Southampton, 2020-11-08)

#5367

As a pet owner I am fully aware of the effect that fireworks have on animals. It is heartbreaking to see my dog and cat terrified and shaking uncontrollably. The firework season goes on longer and longer and many evenings are spent comforting and calming our pets. I feel extremely sorry for animals that are outside. Its time to stop the individual use of fireworks and keep them to displays.

Kate Evans (Nutfield, (Nr Redhill), 2020-11-09)

#5370

Fireworks are a sensory nightmare for me and make me very jumpy and they are frightening for animals and people with ptsd too.

Emma King (Crawley, 2020-11-10)

#5371

There is too much activity on rural land and the distinction between rural and urban is becoming blurred to the detriment of people's livlihoods, for animals and for wildlife.

Maria Bagnoli (Reading, 2020-11-14)

#5374

I'm signing because I have relatives living in Colchester.

David Mills (Hull, 2020-11-17)

#5376

We have urged the government for total ban on fireworks over several years, our pleas seem to end on deaf ears, fireworks cause immense suffering for our animals, many animals die of fright, children have no concept of the danger the fireworks cause despite the fact it is illegal to sell them to children, children are seen messing about with these deadly fireworks, why is the government so adamant not to stop the sale or is it the revenue the government profits.

Annah Jetha (London, 2020-11-27)

#5379

Fireworks, not only do they frighten and petrify our animals they have a very bad reaction on humans too. I have never liked them. To summarize, animals, humans and the ozone layer will thank you for at least holding one festive firework party in a grouped controlled park. Please listen to our pleas I am not signing this just because I can, I strongly think these should be banned altogether.
