Local enterprise should be encouraged. Working from home is the new norm.

Brian Hygate (Gosport, 2020-06-26)

#604

I think Simon should stay! He is the only bike repair workshop in the village. During lockdown he put two new inner tubes in an old bike my dad gave to my son. It enabled my son to get some much needed exercise.

Louise Schuster (Warsash, 2020-06-26)

#605

This business is an asset to the community

Megan Lewis (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

#606

This is a small local business that provides a local service. With the growing use of cycles during the virus outbreak, this is something to be encouraged.

Jason Clarke (SOUTHAMPTON, 2020-06-26)

#613

I can't see how someone mending bikes behind a private fence and out of view can cause any problem, he's not mending moter bikes.

Fiona Keogh (Southampton , 2020-06-26)

#614

Small businesses matter

Barbara Richards (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

V Realff (Warsash , 2020-06-26)

Provides an excellent service for people who need to get out and exercise especially in this crisis time of covid. On so manay levels cycling and other forms of exercise is vital and having a local service such as as Warsash cycles is important to carry out bike maintenance to allow people to go out and ride.

Gary Pullen (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

This is a much needed local service which cannot possibly cause any inconvenience, problems, issues etc for any neighbours. This is a 'green' service and cycling is the way forward for us all!

Kate Gill (St. Johns Road, Locks Heath, 2020-06-26)

#632

I am signing this petition because Warsash Cycles provides a much needed service. Myself and partner use our bikes to avoid using our cars as much as possible for environmental reasons as well as benefiting our health. This service is close to our homes and again avoids the need for us to pollute the environment by going further afield. Cycling should be encouraged and the service provided is part of that.

Katie Coppinger (Bursledon, 2020-06-26)

#634

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what's happening here. No quarantine guidelines are being broken and the work is enabling people to be more active and stay fit

Susan Childs (London, 2020-06-26)

#673

I received a good reliable service from this company, I can’t understand why the council wouldn’t allow it to continue, since when is it an issue nationally to run a business from your house?

#693

There is a need to support the small, local businesses. The lockdown has shown a remarkable increase in family cycling, so a local bike service is a godsend.

Robert Jennings (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

#694

The man is doing a good job and it's just petty red tape on behalf of the council.

Janis Mary Fryer (southampton, 2020-06-26)

#695

He's providing a service to the local area

Louise Tucker (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

#700

The cycling community needs bike repair and maintenance. It serves those who can’t cope and does the major work for those who do their own routine work. We lost Hargroves in Fareham as a result of stupid pricing and taxes. Yay to a new LBS!!!!!

Bryan Christophersen (Fareham , 2020-06-26)

We should be supporting local businesses, especially cycling related ones at this time

Jacqueline Broadbridge (Southampton, 2020-06-26)

#706

I support warsash cycles whole heartedly, why would anyone consider closing this small business down. The council should be supporting local business's, encouraging and promoting local ideas. Mr William's has lived in Warsash village for over 40 years, his customers receive friendly, and dedicated treatment. I am proud to have been his first customer and it would be shameful and sad to close this new local venture.

Jane Whitaker-Chessell (Portsmouth , 2020-06-26)

Jo Lambert (Southampton , 2020-06-26)

#721

I have used this business in the past. They offer a first rate service and where they are just down the road I can walk my bicycle to them rather than put it in the boot of my car to get it done elsewhere.

Steven Moore (Fareham , 2020-06-26)

#724

I'm signing because we need as many local businesses to be supported at this time as we can and this provides a great service to the community and helps us get to work.

Paul Macbean (Fareham, 2020-06-27)

#767

I have not have cause to use your business yet, but I know where you are and when I do need to. So rather than going to Halfords, I'll bring our bikes to you. I love that you are starting a family business from your home. Surely that's what community does to encourage small businesses to grow? I am saddened and appalled that after a global pandemic, where businesses are going to face the biggest challenges to provide a living and stay open, the council should even think about taking one complaint forward in this manner.

Lianne Mount (Southampton, 2020-06-27)

#769

Bike shops are necessary !!!! we need to keep more cars off the road as well as stay fit!

angela dooley (warsash, 2020-06-27)

#780

We need to encourage local businesses to develop.

Peter Humphreys (Southampton, 2020-06-27)

#783

Simon offers a fantastic local bicycle service facility. It encourages local people to get on their bikes with the obvious benefits that come with cycling ie better health , less use of car for local trips etc . Simon’s services are first rate there is minimum to no disruption for local residents. I personally would be very saddened to see him cease to trade .

Ian Simkins (Warsash, 2020-06-27)

#787

Although not having used your service - regrettably we do not cycle anymore, we have heard good reports, and support local initiatives like yours.
Can't understand who could have complained - Keep going I say! David & Jill Sadler

Jill Sadler (Warsash, 2020-06-27)

#788

Very pleasant conversation with Simon this morning. Simon is definitely filling a needed gap in the market. Walked many times past Simon's house. I can not see what inconvenience he is causing the community. Actually I think it is quite the opposite he is bringing a much needed service to the community.

James Heath (Locks Heath, 2020-06-27)

#792

This is a very worthwhile and unobtrusive facility in our neighbourhood...have passed by the site and would not have realised the business existed were it not for an unobtrusive sign

Peter Brown (Locksheath was , 2020-06-27)

#794

I daily visit an address adjacent to the business. It is not causing any disruption or noise what so ever. This gentleman has been very enterprising at set up a business that can be run from home in times of great adversity in employment.
