Scandalous, British justice is an absolute joke,

(Preston, 2018-10-04)

#203

I'm signing because I feel as though he didn't get long enough let alone him thinking he got to long he took 2 people's lives because he was on his phone he should pay for it

(Preston , 2018-10-04)

#204

Because Rachel was a good friend of mine and if that man wasn’t on his phone while driving she WOULD of been at home we’re she belongs and so would Shelby

(Preston , 2018-10-04)

#206

Because justice should be done

(Stockton on tees, 2018-10-04)

#208

Its heartbreaking what this monster has done those girls had their all lives ahead of them. He should be serving life because thats the sentence their families are having to face life without their children.

(Preston, 2018-10-04)

#209

On his mobile phone whilst driving sorry deserves longer in my eyes should get 2 life sentences for the lives he took

(Preston, 2018-10-04)

#210

I use to be one of Rachel s neighbors and no one should be using there phones while driving. Not just one life that man took but two could of been four if Rachel hadn’t pushed Megan out of the way. It should be a life for a life but that doesn’t happen here in the uk

(Eastbourne , 2018-10-04)

#213

These 2 young girls haven't a choice ..why should this man be allowed to live a normal.life when these girls parents family and friends nightmare will never end.. the judges of this era are shit.. no morals.. not like years ago... get em.locked up for life.. life for a life.. love to u all Marie xx

(Preston, 2018-10-05)

#215

The sentence is NOT long enough

(Preston, 2018-10-05)

#219

Way way to lenient let's send a message to him n everyone else

(Preston , 2018-10-05)

#226

This sentence is a sick and disgraceful joke and a slap in the face to the families of Shelby and Rachel and was far to lenient

(Liverpool, 2018-10-05)

#227

He took 2 lives he should of got 2 whole life sentences life for a life

(South Shields , 2018-10-06)

#231

He knew what he did and he he evaded so he should not have an appeal he killed 2 people because he was driving too far too fast cars are in the wrong hands killing machines

(PRESTON, 2018-10-06)

#235

I’m signing because I have three nieces who I’m terrified for everyone they go out because drivers these days don’t give a fig about the law and treat roads like race tracks bearing in mind half of them probably aren’t even licensed to drive

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#238

He should not be released early, the sentence isn't long enough for killing two people.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#241

It totally wrong

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#243

The sentence should be increased not reduced

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#244

He should have got a longer sentence!

(Preston Lancs, 2018-10-06)

#252

Rip girls.x

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#253

He should rot in hell and serve all the lot

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#254

They was my friend

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#261

He has absolutely no remorse, other than for himself. He lied and lied in court. What on earth is he basing his appeal on? Let him appeal and hopefully they will double his inadequate sentence. Disgusting excuse for a human being.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#263

Because Patel should take his punishment like a man.
He wasn’t interested in the lives of his victims when he was looking at his phone instead of the rd so we are not interested in his whining now.

(Chorley , 2018-10-06)

#264

I’m signing because a sentence is a sentence and should be served in full!

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#270

This was a clear case of death by dangerous driving. The deaths of these 2 girls affected 100s of people. 6 years was never enough for the lives he took so that is why I'm signing this petition

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#279

He deserves longer, not less time! Clearly he has no remorse for what he's done, meaning he doesn't believe he was in the wrong. If he was to be let out, I guarantee he would drive in the same manner. He's a danger on our roads. Keep him in prison and keep the tax-payer-funded appeal to a minimum!

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#284

The girls deserve justice

(London, 2018-10-06)

#289

This man got off lightly. If anything his sentence ought to be increased. The Preston area is blighted by dangerous drivers and they have to learn there will be consequences to their actions.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#296

The original sentence was an insult to the memories of these girls who died needlessly due to Mr Patels flouting of the law. To shorten, or overturn his conviction, would be plainly inhumane for the families of the victims. Let maximum justice for this crime be served.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#298

With the affect his actions made on the friends and family of the victim he shouldn't be allowed this opportunity.

(Exeter, 2018-10-06)

#299

The original sentence was too lenient, to get it reduced would be a travesty of justice.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#303

I am a friend of the Murphy family and find it disgusting he got off with such a light sentence anyway, but he should not be allowed to appeal

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#306

The sentence is an insulting to all the families..justice has to be done..

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#311

he should have got a longer sentence

(bury, 2018-10-06)

#313

I am signing because his current sentence for taking the lives of these two girls is already disgustingly short.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#315

This criminals sentence was much too light. You took the lives of two human beings, what you should have received was a life sentence or minimum 50yrs. Be a man of integrity and instead of appealing for a lighter sentence take responsibility for your actions and serve out the full sentence. I would advise for you to loose your drivers license for life after you come out of jail. This wasn’t an accident, this was stupidity. You knowingly used your mobile whilst driving.

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#318

I know family members of the young girls. What he did was life changing for them, he deserves a much longer sentence, not a chance to appeal.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#319

I do not think the sentence was enough to start with. The sentence should not be allowed to be appealed and, just for the sheer arrogance in requesting an appeal, his sentence should be doubled before even being considered for parole.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#320

The sentence is to shirt should be trebled at least...

(Runcorn, 2018-10-06)

#322

Drivers on phones who kill anyone should be charged with murder

(Wigan , 2018-10-06)

#326

Think this sentence was a joke yet 6yrs for 2 people's life come on should have more added to the sentence

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#331

He didn't get long enough never mind appealing for a lesser sentence.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#333

I think his sentence needs to be increased

(burnley, 2018-10-06)

#337

He should stay in for what he has done

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#341

He should have been given more years, he's shown no regret and deserves to be punished for what he did

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#343

Justice is needed

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#344

People who use mobile phones while driving are selfish, inconsiderate scum to start with. When they kill people doing this they need to be made examples of. There are far too many people still ignoring the law and killing or maiming innocent victims. The law is far too lenient still and things need to change.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#346

Im signing because. The sentence is far too lenient in my opinion. Two young girls lives were cut short due to the reckless actions of this man. How he can be given right to appeal the sentence shows the lack of remorse and the state of the justice system.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#348

Two lives have been lost due to this man.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#349

I'm signing because Shelby and Rachael deserve justice and so does their poor families.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#350

He deserves to rot in jail he murdered them girls

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#351

Justice

(Wigan, 2018-10-06)

#354

Driving using a mobile phone is so dangerous

(Blackpool , 2018-10-06)

#356

He murdered 2 young girls who had a whole life infront of them. They will never get married never have children.Thier parents will never walk them down the aisle they will never have grandchildren from thier daughters.

(preston, 2018-10-06)

#357

I’m signing because Shelby was my best friend from college and I miss her dearly

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#362

Justis for the girls

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#366

3 years wasnt enough he killed too innocent beautiful girls he should not be able too appeal the decision.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#367

This person killed two young innocent girls through careless driving. I consider his behaviour should of ensured he was tried for murder. His sentence was a complete joke and an insult to both families. Both families have been given a life sentence - one of upset and misery - he should of been given 2 life sentences behind bars. The fact that he is appealing against his conviction is an insult. This evil man should have his sentence increased in line with a murder charge!!!

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#369

He doesn’t deserve to be granted an appeal. He taken 2 lives!

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#374

The sentence should be uped not lowered

(Blackburn , 2018-10-06)

#376

Justice needs to act now and realise that anyone not paying attention behind the steering wheel is actually driving a lethal weapon. How many more lives need to be lost before these sentances fit the crime. 6 years is nothing compared to the heartache my family and friends are going through each and every day for the rest of thier lives.
He needs to serve more than 6 years for what he did.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#378

It infuriates me that when someone has had a fair trial they don't like a verdict they get to request to try again. When the victims of their crime dont have the same rights and in this case the families have to live through even more trauma. It is illegal to use a phone whilst driving. He broke the law. Every action has a consequence. Deal with it!!!

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#383

He should of got double life not 6 years he’s a hard face got but no doubt the powers that be will reduce his prison term

(Preston , 2018-10-06)

#384

I don’t believe the 6 years he was given is anywhere near long enough anyway so for him to appeal the sentence is a joke and a kick in the teeth to the memory of 2 young ladies he killed whilst using his mobile phone and driving

(Bolton, 2018-10-06)

#389

This guy needs his sentence lengthening not shortening for the lives he has taken and the lives he has destroyed.

(Preston, 2018-10-06)

#390

This man should have got life not the abysmally short sentence he has the temerity to appeal

(preston, 2018-10-06)

#397

I feel that the original sentence was low so to appeal against it is an absolute disgrace

(Chorley, 2018-10-06)
