Major infrastructure concerns on an already stressed town

I am signing this because this would be a heavier burden on your drainage, sewer, roads and schools. The type of neighborhood this company builds is not what stonewall needs!

Infrastructure is poor. Stonewall/Frierson road continues to be full of potholes which are only continuously patched and that is not a feasible solution. The Legislator in this area has already stated that they would not be fixing the Stonewall Frierson Road anytime soon due to lack of funds. Drainage is already an issue within Cathey Acres and drainage will continue to be an issue with an increase in disruption of ground/building. Traffic on the Stonewall Frierson Road is horrible and people are having to wait more than 30 minutes to get out of the neighborhood already without a stop light in place and there are no funds to purchase a stoplight.

Our beyond horrible streets aren’t being repaired properly, only patched up. We have areas that flood whenever it rains heavy. Then our poor schools are already overflowing with students. Our stonewall police department was done away with so therefore the crime rate will certainly rise, hence the Progressive Bank robbery on February 19, 2020, and there’s been many incidents where homeowners property have been damaged or stolen. These are just some of our concerns...there are many more.

Don't want school and infrastructure overloads in city

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

I value our home, schools and small town feel. There is a standard here, let’s not become Shreveport!

It is too crowded here in stonewall! Highway 3276 road is the pitts. The state doesn't keep the maintenance like they should. If you increase the amount of houses allowed on 1 acre will only worsen the roads and the school system. We are over loaded in the schools and the traffic is too high. It will worsen if the make it a 'service road' for I-69.

The house market in Stonewall and surrounding areas is already over-saturated. I agree with all economical strains mentioned above and also want to protect my property value.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#62

The road condition on that highway are too bad...

The infrastructure in Stonewall is already at max capacity. We need to slow down the growth. The small town feeling is quickly disappearing.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

I don’t believe the city of stonewall can handle all the influx of people this would bring at the pace it would happen.

To protect our property values

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#85

This will back right up to my property.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#88

I do not want to lose value on our home.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#89

I don’t fill like this would benefit the community, the parish can not meet the needs of the people we already have and this would make it even worse the only ones it would help would be the developers and contractors

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

Numerous reason from school overload to drainage issues to the size of homes being built, if it has an affect on my property value being decreased then I’m am totally against it , if the city wants a new neighborhood then it should be done so that the home are done similar to the surrounding neighborhoods and not 4-6 homes being built on a single acre, RIDICULOUS

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#95

Dont approve of the new neighborhood

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#96

There are so many reasons to be against this.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-04)

#105

I am against development next to the Cathy Acres subdivision for the following reasons.
*our schools are already overcrowded
*it will put a strain on our water and sewerage
*drainage is horrible now so adding more obstacles in its path will slow it even more.
*our neighborhood has a lot of traffic now so there shouldn’t be thoroughfare from outside.
*the roads in stonewall are horrific, ie it would put even more stress on stonewall/Frierson rd.
*it WILL hurt the property value of all who are here now.

Stonewall-Frieson Road is already heavily trafficked and in poor condition. It will burden our already
poor water and drainage system.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-05)

#120

I do not want 1/4 acre or smaller lots developed near Cathy Acres and the road maintenance can’t support the extra traffic

(Stonewall, 2021-02-05)

#123

Infrastructure is not prepared for large number of houses.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-05)

#125

I moved to Stonewall 22 years ago because of it size and proximity to Shreveport. I'm unhappy about the rate of growth in Stonewall especially in recent years. Seriously considering moving...

(Stonewall, 2021-02-05)

#130

We need a grocery store and better roads not 4-6 homes on an acre.

(Stonewall, 2021-02-05)

#133

It’s not good for stonewall!!!

(Stonewall, 2021-02-06)

#136

DO Not want small lot size housing! Schools are already overcrowded!

(Stonewall, 2021-02-06)

#149

This will not be good for the infrastructure or schools for DeSoto Parish.
