Save The Dog Inn, Whalley’s character and ambience
Save The Dog Inn, Whalley’s character and ambience.
As you may be aware, after 33 wonderful years the tenants have handed in their notice on The Dog Inn, Whalley. The pub will become a tied pub, with the brewery proposing a huge refurbishment. See link below for full details:
We believe that such huge changes will result in an irreversible loss of character and therefore worsen the ambience of the pub.
There is no mention about selling cask ales which would result in small independent breweries losing out financially and loss of customers who would go elsewhere. Message below is similar to what other regular customers have said
The implication that the Dog would revert to being a Star Inns tied house would probably result in a much reduced range of cask beers. This is especially crucial for smaller and local breweries which supply The Dog Inn and for which the Dog has a famed reputation locally and regionally appearing annually in the national 'Good Beer Guide', the bible of all that's good in the Cask Ale world.
Please sign our petition against the planned huge refurbishment and demonstrate to the brewery both the importance of the Dog Inn to the village and its place at the heart of the local community it serves.
