Proposal for Portfolio Assessments (Unisa)

Dear Unisa,

The concern sterns from the system failures experienced yesterday 26th May 2020, by the first batch of students to partake in the exam.

During exam time a number of students where either unable to log in to download the exam or could not submit as the system experienced issues leading to students being unable to complete the exam.

This disruption caused all assignments scheduled for tomorrow 27th May to be moved further out to mid June.

As greatly as we understand that this is the first time the university has had to deal with this kind of exam, and is now facing difficulties that were unexpected and so forth.

We the students request that you consider that we have:

1. Taken study leave for exam preparation (that cannot be retracted)

2. Strained to juggle both work and study, as Education is a vital tool for professional growth. 

3. We have invested time and money for the above stated reasons. 

Please urgently assist us with by allowing Portfolio assessments because by the look of these issues, more money will be used by the University for remedies that will not help, as even the MTN data bundles have not been loaded on a number of students. 

We had to fund our own data bundles so we could be able to log on and take our exam...
