Petitioning ERYC for their clear disregard of the people of Market Weighton and their lack of support in establishing decent sporting and leisure facilities in the town.

It's about time we as a town demanded that the ERYC give us the same respect that is awarded to the residents of other towns. The lack of funding for sporting and leisure facilities is appalling. 

Not only have they removed skating ramps for the youth but there is no evidence of any future investment in the area despite an outside agency being paid at the beginning of the year to tell us what we already know, that there is nothing in the town. As football teams we are having to travel out of the area to train, the school sports facilities are archaic and dangerous and there is a total disregard for the community. More houses are being built while the infrastructure goes backwards. 4 million spent on a roundabout that will have no real benefit. Imagine what we could have achieved for the town with that kind of money. It's a joke and about time we were given answers.
