Petition - Parking Strategy in Glen Morris
On Behalf of the Community of Glen Morris....
We are asking for your support as we go to the County of Brant council meeting on March 16th with a proposal to run a pilot study for parking restrictions for 2021.
As another busy season of river and trail activities approaches in Glen Morris, we can expect an influx of visitors using the Glen Morris River Access, Rail Trail, and Parking Lot.
We plan to present a few options for consideration and are hopeful that this engagement with council will be a good first step in restoring traffic safety and allow all of us to once again enjoy our community.
The following are proposed ideas we are taking so far. If you have any ideas that you think may be helpful, we welcome your thoughts:
Option 1
No Parking
Seasonal (May 1 - Oct 31)
Time of Day (7 AM - 4 PM)
Signs at top and bottom of Forbes Street
Signs at each entrance & exit of Princess Street
No Parking on Kirk Street - Sign at bottom of street
Option 2
No Parking
Except by Permit
Seasonal (May 1 - Oct 31)
Signs at top and bottom of Forbes Street
Signs at each entrance & exit of Princess Street
No Parking on Kirk Street - Sign at bottom of street
Option 3
No Parking
Seasonal (May 1 - Oct 31)
Use of other permitting tool to authorize some parking as needed
No Parking on Kirk Street - Sign at bottom of street
We believe that by implementing a parking strategy on Forbes, Kirk and Princess Streets, we will see a pattern of parking that mostly utilizes the parking lot as intended. This should help control how visitors use our streets and alleviate some stress on the community of Glen Morris.
Can we count on you to support our efforts?
If yes, please sign and indicate which street you live on in Glen Morris.
We thank you for your support.
