The distress the flooding has put people through, and the added premium this will mean for their insurance, year on year, is unacceptable. Please do everything you can to make sure this never happens again.

You make a good point. The enviro agency have told me the insurance companies will be relying on them for information on re classifying the area to a high flood risk area or not. I was told that they would not be thus ensuring we are still in a low flood risk area. All this is very little consolation because if you try and get a quote now , after making a claim and look at all the new criteria you have to tick with regards to water coarses , rivers, tributaries etc... Its almost impossible to get insured with the common insurance companies.   Good luck all we will need it
