I strongly believe that a neighborhood school in the Whisman area is a must.  Please consider the fact that there are lot of new housing and young families who need a school in the area for their young kids.  I think it is extremely unfair that the kids are not able to walk to their neighborhood school and bond with the neighbors as was done when we were young.

I do not have school-aged children but I live near Slater School and think it's crazy that there is no elementary school in this area. The initial decision to close Slater was, in my opinion, problematic and politically fraught. The school board has an opportunity now to remedy that decision and provide a neighborhood school to the many families with young children that live here.
