The Sea Front belongs to the entire community. The festival is all about community spirit. It's an absolute shame to cancel it, particularly as it drives prosperity in the town. Listen to the people!

Summer Festival is one of the important for the community. It can not be valued by money value, but the impact on its people and the community. We cannot narrow-minded!

Summerfest is a bray tradition that's continuously brought revenue in to a town suffering from recession and the arrival of big brands and shopping centres like dundrum. It makes no sense to cancel it. Residents and non residents of bray love and flock to the events. Boo on the council for breaking a 34 yr tradition, it would seem there's some unknown motive driving them...

Bray Summerfest is a fantastic asset to Bray and brings a much needed boost to the town over the Summer months. Without it Bray seafront will go the same way as the Main Street, a shabby, unused wreck. It would be a huge shame to loose this asset and I would love to know the reasons for suggesting that it be stopped. The councillers who voted yes to cancelling it will not be getting my vote again and will have a huge hill to climb when the next election comes around for them.

BRAY NEED THIS
Bray need the revenue
This is good for BRAY
The businesses of Bray DEPEND on this revenue
What else has BRAY to OFFER but empty shops....
Why was so much invested in parking space, upgrading the promenade
80,000 visitors with Airshow LOST this in revenue...NO BRAINER!!!
Business boarded up

I signed this petition to save the bray seafront from these small minded council members who have no right in interfering in the traditional seafront park and festival that made bray the town it is today

Because I do not agree with the decision to shorten the Summeriest. The small minority of the town are dictating to the majority. None of the councillors who voted yes will get my vote at the next election

I signed this petition for the greater good of bray town. I personally don't luke most of the festival the rides crowds etc, but I've no right to put my personal views above the greater need of the town and I feel that's why this has been cancelled and that's so wrong. I Wd love to see the festival be more spread out over the town. Like a compromise for those who live on the beach

The summer fest is a brilliant positive festival with something for all ages don't throw it away . It has excelled in recent years with some brilliant innovative events . I m not a fan of the funfair buts lots of people enjoy it & if that s what it takes to fund the other events then it's welcome .

I am 4th generation Bray. My youth was spent on the strand as we called it. My 12th and 13th years were spent working in a B AND B on the meath road where every bed was rented year to year. Owners moved into huts in their back gardens in order to fit tourists in. The esplanade was alive for the summer months. I want that atmosphere back for every child in Bray. The wonderful memories I have from then and YES. there was a carnival then and I was told by my very wise mother NO when there was no money for rides. Residents who object Learn to say no to your kids if need be. You are loud enough to say NO to our rights of access.

Cutting funding without consulting the Summerfest Committee or communication with the Town and explaining the rationale is unacceptable.

It would be a pity to see this go as it has been great for Bray and I never missed a few nights down at the bands ....

Another Meath Road resident with no problem with the Summerfest. I've never even been asked for an opinion. Yes, parking is a bit of a pain for a short time each year but the benefits out-weigh the negatives.

The summer fest has been running for many years why lose it now, it is mostly run by volunteers , council should dig deep and put more funding in to this annual event.
