Cadbury's Step Up to Gluten Free

Cadbury's, we are coeliacs, parents of coeliacs, friends of coeliacs and general supporters of gluten free products. We do not understand why Cadbury's, as one of the biggest manufacturers of chocolate in Ireland and the UK, refuse to acknowledge or cater to coeliacs. There are close to 50000 coeliacs in Ireland, 650000 in the UK and many more that choose gluten free as a lifestyle. Many of us only use gluten free products in our home whether the entire family is affected by this autoimmune disease or not. We cannot use Cadbury's products because you have chosen not to test your products to the EU standards that are required to claim gluten free status. You claim your products are gluten absent and you keep equipment clean to avoid cross contamination. This is not good enough and we believe as a long-standing chocolate manufacturer you should step up and meet this level so that we may once again use your products. Chocolate is naturally gluten free and many other major manufacturers have ensured the testing so as to open up the market to coeliacs. We believe that you should do the same. We don't want to hear that you make every effort. We want you to comply for our benefit and for the benefit of your bottom line. Opening your products up to over 700000 more people and many of their families would benefit you greatly and is not such an incredible effort. Come on Cadbury's, no more excuses. Let's make it happen!
