Tampere Disc Golf Center needs to be saved!

Tampere Disc Golf Center is under threat.

Some politicians of city of Tampere have addressed lately their will to give land for the expansion of the nearby golf course. This particular piece of land they have in mind happens to be Tampere Disc Golf Center (TDGC).

If this is to happen it means the end of TDGC as we know it. Tampere and Finland and actually the whole disc golf community will lose something extraordinary.

TDGC was built by the city of Tampere in 2018 and it has 27 beautiful holes, a driving range and thriving pro shop. Almost 10 000 rounds are played there monthly. Nowadays majority of players are 20 year-olds and younger. Course is filled with families and friends of all ages. Numerous players want to visit and will visit this course near and afar.

TDGC has already hosted Finnish nationals for open divisions, many Finnish protour events, numerous c-tiers and it is the place for junior disc golf schools.

This course was built by the city of Tampere not only to fulfill the desperate need of 18-hole course in the city, but also to host notable international events. Namely Disc Golf World Championships.

Future of disc golf looks bright in the city of Tampere... if, and only if this course can stay on this place.

We want the decision makers of city of Tampere to understand the importance of this disc golf course locally, how recognized it is internationally and the possibilities it creates for the city in the form of international events.

Tampere Disc Golf Center needs to be saved on this area!
