Keep the free carpark at the back of Morley Market

Comments

#202

The car park is important for people visiting Morley and getting trade into Morley.. utterly ridiculous to even think off getting rid off it

Dawn Slater (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#203

We need to keep this as Car Park - make a better play area in Scatcherd Park.

Beverley Buttery (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#204

People can not always managed the slope to get to Morrisons carpark

Jean Mitchell (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#205

Parking is essential for the markets success

Julie Callaghan (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#206

I shop in Morley frequently for the shops and its a bonus nor having to pay for parking.

Stacie Pearson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#207

This car park is needed to support businesses in Morley

Sandra Jackson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#208

This will be the end of the market and Morley altogether

Kim Price (Wakefield, 2021-11-27)

#210

Much need parking

Jonny Brearey (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#212

I freqyent the market and if this get change of use....where do we park?

Griffin Mark (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#213

I use this free car park regularly

Sarah Dufton (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#214

Because we have enough parks and the car park is needed. Stupid idea.

John Hayes (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#215

I know how bad parking is already in Morley

Joshua Ineson (Huddersfield, 2021-11-27)

#217

I’m signing because morley market and the public need this car park.

Jessica Pearson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#218

We need to keep from making all the car parks pay and display..we need free ones too

Karen Meltham (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#219

Loss of car parking, yet again, will inhibit customers from shopping in Morley as the regular bus service is inadequate. We need to bring people into our area not have then turn away due to parking not being available.

Janet Tordoff (Wakefield, 2021-11-27)

#220

Parking is a premium we have plenty of oarks

Marilyn M.A.Robinson (Leef, 2021-11-27)

#221

My husband is disabled & can only walk a few yards it’s an ideal car park for him to access the market

Valerie Cousens (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#223

I have a business in Morley and my patrons use this

Andrew Howden (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#224

I feel it is important to keep it as it always was a free car park for all.

Kelly Maybury (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#225

I don’t want Bussiness going burst and look like Dewsbury and we are much better of with carpark spaces let s don’t kill Morley town Center. !!!!!’n

Veysi Ay (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#227

We need more free carparks, we have a massive outdoor area already.

Zoe Milner (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#228

I park here regularly free car parking is essential to bring people into town and all the car parks are usually full so sometimes you have to drive round a couple of times to get a space and there is a large play area at the side of morrisons...

Pat and Al Johnson (Heckmondwike , 2021-11-27)

#229

I am signing this because we need free parking in Morley. Thus build will damage all Norley traders.

David Speight (Wakefield, 2021-11-27)

#231

We urgently need that parking space.

Steven Twitchett (Morley , 2021-11-27)

#232

Mark Robinson

Mark Robinson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#234

The town needs this car park as parking is already at a premium. The struggling market needs it to survive.

Tracey Robinson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#235

If this carries on people will avoid morley and it will resemble a ghost town

Robert Bateson (Leeds , 2021-11-27)

#236

That car park is essential for businesses in Morley to survive. The white rose car park is free so people will just start using there instead.

Andrew Blair (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#237

It's a stupid idea. the Park is only a few hundred yards away.. plus what about the parking.. shops in Morley stuggle enough without less parking. just a waste of money leeds city council are useless

Christopher Poulter (Morley , 2021-11-27)

#239

Morley needs car parking to support the local economy. The shops are already struggling and it will only get more difficult for them if people are unable to park close by.

Jan Thackray (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#240

Morley needs more free car parking to support local businesses and encourage people to visits them

Carl Wolstenholme (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#242

People will need to use the carpark for quick and easy access so that they don't have to spend 10 minutes paying to work at the market especially for employees and it will ruin the market if you get rid of it so please don't .

John Tutty (Spalding, 2021-11-27)

#244

I use that car park regularly.
As do lots of other people.
The town centre would loose a lot of customers of this goes.
Leave it alone.

Michael Storey (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#245

We don’t need a play area there we need the free parking for the town centre and market there is a park no more than 200 meters walk away also where would people park to use the play area because most people go know where with out there cars now a days

Lynette poulter (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#246

Because I object changing the car park behind Morley Market to a play area, Morley has a big enough park and it will deter people outside of Morley to shop in the town if parking is limited. The Town is dying fast enough as it is without more help from Leeds and Morley council

Rita Robinson (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#247

The free parking in Morley is vital to its ongoing success. Without it, people will choose to go to the larger supermarkets instead. Independent traders rely on visitors. And visitors rely on good, free, parking.

Zita MacDonald (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#249

We need more parking space around town but if we have to pay for them, I fear locals will go elsewhere to shop i.e White Rose

Margaret Tattersfield (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#250

We need the free parking in the town centre and for the market. It brings in trade , do you actually want Morley to be a ghost town ? We don't need another park where teenagers can drink and get high

Paula Wilby (Morley , 2021-11-27)

#252

We need the extra parking to help the town and shops revieve trade and footfall. Removing car parks stops people from going to certain shops.

Becky Fawcett (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#256

Handy for shopping, if I had to pay probably would not visit

Jolly Nigel (Didcot, 2021-11-27)

#257

I believe the area doe not need an outside play area the park is round the corner. Where will people park for this and the shopping. More residential streets clogged up with cars

Claire Gilbeet (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#258

Morley struggles at keeping people going in to shop, without you putting parking costs in place. It will end up with the market and independent retailers closing, they are already struggling

Susan Dyas (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#259

A planning application has been approved for another 450 houses in Churwell and this will have a knock on effect to the increase demand for parking in Morley.

Marie Wilson (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#260

Keep the car park free

Stuart Dorree (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#261

Morley needs parking for shoppers and workers the market carpark provides this its full most days so where would all these cars go? Also morley has enough parks spend the money improving the existing ones

Deborah Stubbs (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#263

Morley needs free parking

Oliver Goor (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#265

I’m signing as we go to the market on a weekend

David Harris (Leeds , 2021-11-27)

#266

There are fewer places that offer free parking and it will cause uproar in the town.

Jessica Leanne (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#267

I want the free car park

Kelly Smith (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#269

David Attree

David Attree (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#270

It’s a joke

Lots of places to have green spaces

Craig mckenna (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#271

Because it’s turning into a spending for spending sake fiasco. Morley needs free parking to attract shoppers to local businesses.

Mark Barron (Morley, 2021-11-27)

#274

I would like the Car Park to be Free, at the Back of the Market.

Thank you.

William Reeves (Leeds, 2021-11-27)

#275

I am signing this petition because the carpark is an essential need for local people, disabled and taxis.

Yvonne Ugarte (LEEDS, 2021-11-28)

#276

Our local councilors have lost there minds
The market will close if there's no close parking

Lee Baldwin (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#277

I am signing because as I am disabled and live at Morley bottems and can no longer get a bus up to Morley and have to drive and if they start taking away car parks I will not be able to shop in Morley and this goes for a lot of disabled and elderly people

Samantha Waugh (Morley, 2021-11-28)

#278

It’s the closest car park to the market, this just means even less people will bother with the market & town centre shops, it’s already had a knock due to new road layout & congestion it’s caused up corporation st. God knows which lunatic thought of cutting of half the access to Morley with that road layout.

Newell Elaine (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#279

We need parking for people coming into the town to support local businesses, Otherwise Morley trade will be non existent.

Jo Poulter (Leeds , 2021-11-28)

#281

It's a stupid idea parking in morley horrible at best of times will just contribute to more businesses going out of business

Andrew Barber (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#282

It's important that there is parking for users of the market.

Eric Richley (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#283

You need parking for the market

Daryl abbott (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#284

We have enough green space & parks in Morley. Parking is awful in Morley town centre. Shops will lose business to the White Rose where there is plenty of free parking. We need to introduce two-hour restricted free parking to stop people from parking all day. This green agenda has to stop. Queen street at Morley bottoms needs reopening too. Just close from 7 pm until 7 am.

Stephen Broadhead (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#286

It’s helpful for the staff and public and brings service to the businesses

Amy Galea (Leeds , 2021-11-28)

#287

I’m signing because closing this car park will kill the market. Public transport is not fit for purpose at the moment. You should be developing the green space at top cliff farm. not building sheds on it .

Paul Broadbent (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#288

We need car park for disabled and elderly that can not walk very far.

Christine Appleyard (Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#289

We need the free car park to encourage shoppers and visitors to come into Morley.
There are plenty of park areas already.

Denise Neil (Leeds , 2021-11-28)

#290

Parking is vital in morley to be able to shop locally

Gina Nettleship (Morley Leeds, 2021-11-28)

#292

The elderly, and disabled drivers need more accessible parking spaces not less there are not enough parking spaces around Morley anyway but taking away a Carpark could mean the loss of business for local traders when in today’s climate Morley needs as much trade as possible not customers going elsewhere to shop

Jackie Banks (Leeds, 2021-11-29)

#293

I’m live in Morley and agree that there needs to be a free car park close to the centre.

Lynn Cunningham (Leeds, 2021-11-29)

#294

We need to retain the car parks in Morley, they are used daily. Invest in the current green space that we have, we don’t need more adding, especially on that car park which will only attract yobs.

Rachel Stenhouse (Morley, 2021-11-29)

#296

My business will be severely impacted by this proposal

Mr Richards (Cleckheaton, 2021-11-29)

#299

The market car park is needed by people who do not live in Morley and need to travel their by car. We have already lost the old college car park so parking is even more difficult.

Caroline Scarth (East Ardsley , 2021-11-29)

#300

There are already parks in Morley, it needs car parks to encourage people to shop in Morley, some people have already been put off by closing access through Morley Bottoms. It’s hard enough to park in Morley as it is. People can use the park that is 5 min further on around the corner.

T Haigh (Morley, Leeds, 2021-11-29)

#302

I'm signing because this free carpark is essentially used to go to the market and surrounding shops our family love to go to Morley using the car park

Joanna Barnes (Leeds, 2021-11-30)

#303

There is already a park… teenagers will just hand around here and local area has a lot of elderly and they don’t need to feel scared walking out of there homes c

Nicola Smith (Leeds , 2021-11-30)

#304

To save the market parking area

Mari Parker (Barnsley , 2021-11-30)

#307

If you want people to shop in Morley then encourage them to come by keeping the car park.

Dympna Hewson (Leeds , 2021-12-02)

#308

The town needs to maintain sufficient parking for residents and visitors if local businesses are to survive. There is a park with ample area for children to play along with playground. To remove the option to park will reduce footfall on Morley high street at a time when the market and local businesses need customers more than ever.

Rachel Benson (Leeds, 2021-12-03)

#309

We do not need another park in Morley but we do need the parking spaces. Morrison’s car park is too far for the elderly to walk from to get to the market and the market needs customers to survive.

Cathrine Patrick (Leeds, 2021-12-03)

#310

We already have Scatchard Park in Morley and if we lose this carpark the market will lose valuable trade and it will end up closing down. Stop this stupid idea it will kill our town and not only that my grandad Jack Sparham helped build this valuable town carpark .

Jacqueline Hartley (Leeds, 2021-12-04)

#311

I use this car park .frequently

Smith Denise (Morley leeds, 2021-12-10)

#312

I shop in Morley every week , it’s a lovely little town . Free parking is a definite asset and encourages people into the town who might otherwise use free parking at White Rose

Joanne Close (Wakefield, 2021-12-12)

#313

It's the right thing for the town.

Vikki Nixon (Leeds, 2021-12-13)

#314

I use the car park when going to my hairdresser's

Rachel Haley (Dewsbury, 2021-12-13)

#315

There isn't enough parking anyway

Elizabeth Jackson (Leeds, 2021-12-15)

#316

I use this car park regularly It is central I probably wouldn’t go to Morley if it wasn’t there

Sheila Longstaff (Wakefield, 2021-12-16)

#317

The independent stores need parking to entice people from outside of Morley into the town and we have a lot of really good parks around the town already, with Scratcherd and Dartmouth not far from the proposed site.

Fliss Lee (Leeds, 2021-12-18)

#318

Parking is already problematic, getting worse over the years due to Morley expanding, taking that parking away will cause people to either not come to Morley over time reducung trade, it's already been made difficult to drive through with blocking Morley bottoms and it will cause traffic to divert further to our backstreets to find spaces or cut through, the option then would either be residents struggle to get parked outside their homes or give out resident permits again putting people off coming to Morley as there's reduced parking or diverting traffic further into other areas of Morley to get parked up. I'm not sure on the rules of this particular car park but is there a possibility it gets used for the school run hours, parking is not always fully available outside most schools from what I see posted online, having use of these carparks in Morley makes it safer and convenient for road users and pedestrians.

Chelsea Barber (Leeds, 2021-12-27)

#319

Free Car parking is essential for businesses

Alan Clough (Leeds, 2022-01-06)

#320

Keep the free car parking

Lisa Salisbury (Leeds, 2022-01-18)
