Open the stadium!

We should have gone back to normal life months ago. Politicizing a virus and maintaining an unreasonable authoritarian rule above all, discrediting the name of science while yelling “science” is getting ******* old. I’ll sign any petition to move on with life already

Kyra Elizabeth (Bellevue , 2021-03-06)

This stadium is so open and outdoors. There is absolutely no science to back closing this to 875 people then have them cram in close proximity to each other on the outside of the fence to watch their sons play football. This would be far safer to social distance them inside the stadium. The players need their families for their mental health!

Stacy Hanley (Grants Pass, 2021-03-06)

#17

This is the bare minimum of what must happen. I would advocate for at least 50% capacity. But for now, a 10-ticket policy works.

Evan Daggett (Grants Pass, 2021-03-06)

#19

Kids need this!!

Eric Medley (Grants Pass, 2021-03-06)

#23

Please open the stadium for parents to be able to see their child play!!!

Robyn Clark (Grants Pass, 2021-03-06)

#24

These kids deserve to have the high school memories that we have all been lucky enough to cherish. Let’s take a stand and not let anymore of our youth be robbed of these special moments.

Nicole Hood (Grants pass, 2021-03-06)

#26

I was a caveman and these kids deserve to live their final year in high school with their parents in the stands. Some of these boys won't go on to play football elsewhere and this is the last time they will be dressing down and it will be the final times the seniors will be dressing down for their school. The kids and parents deserve to see this happen.

Nicole Begley (Grants Pass, 2021-03-06)

#27

I 100% agree with this. The kids need a normal as possible school experience! Athletes need the support.

Alison Pinks (Grants Pass , 2021-03-07)

Jill Raeburn (Canby, 2021-03-07)

#52

There is absolutely no reason we cannot have spectators at both outside and inside games safely. The rules that have been set forth are arbitrary and asinine.

Tuesday Herring (Merrill, 2021-03-07)

#55

Not having the stadium pack full of a student athletes family, peers and fans is bull shit! We can cram thousands upon thousands of people shoulder to shoulder on airplanes all day every day but we can’t let fans into a open stadium to cheer on our family and friends?!

Tim Vander Stoel (Grants Pass , 2021-03-07)

#56

Football season was a big part of my high school experience. It’s sad they aren’t able to have games. It’s important.

There is plenty not room for families to spread out in the stands. If there is need for extra help at the door/gates, give me a call.

Patrick Sorenson (Grants Pass, 2021-03-08)

#96

They need this time! Teens need to have drive and for a lot of people sports are the only reason they do good in school and continue you on to higher education! Let them play!

#109

Our youth deserve better than what this state is permitting!

Michele Ireland (Grants Pass, 2021-03-11)

#112

The kids and their family need this. Along with the tickets given out to families I would hope that the senior students would also be allowed to attend. And while we are on the topic of stadium gatherings, I believe that more tickets should be given to the senoir's family for their graduation ceremony. 2 tickets each is not good enough. Parents, grandparents and/or siblings should be able to attend.

Georgia Bushnell (Grants Pass, 2021-03-12)

#114

Caveman pride

Robin Reinhart (Grants Pass, 2021-03-12)

#138

The Kids deserve this and I’m a Caveman also.

Paul Johnson (Portland, 2021-03-12)

#141

I am signing this because as a parent of a past caveman I would be heartbroken if I had to stand outside on A street with all of the other parents while the stadium, that would hold a couple hundred people safely, sat empty. Makes no sense. I don’t believe it is too big of a stretch to allow a couple of parents for each player in designated areas. Parents are perfectly capable of making smart decisions and socially distancing, especially if they know it will keep the stadium open. Haven’t these families already had enough taken from them? Come on Oregon get with it!

Lauri Stoffel (Grants pass, 2021-03-12)

#149

Every kid should have fans.

Ashley Willamson (Grants pass, 2021-03-12)

#156

I'm a senior band parent who watched them practice from A Street in the Fall. Sadly, she was in the front so we never actually got to see her play this year. These are moments and experiences that we will never get back. We won't get an opportunity to watch her play as a member of the GPHS band ever again. The stadium is big enough that at least one parent could have been sitting in the stands just once in the time they did have. I hope others get that opportunity. Our kids deserved it.

Carrie Bernhart (Grants Pass, 2021-03-12)

#158

Our kids have worked hard and deserve the support of their parents in the stands! The inconsistencies with numbers (stores, faith institutions) do not make sense. It is easy to social distance outside in big stadiums!

Valerie Vinyard (Grants Pass, 2021-03-12)

#160

The kids need this our town needs it!!
