Marketing ploys and tourism ventures that use 'eco' as a buzzword are not always eco-friendly, this being a case in point.

Liz North (Leeds, 2021-03-01)

#417

This is legalized vandalism

Dr trefor stockwell (Bodorgan , 2021-03-01)

#420

Development should not happen on areas where there are mature trees.

Claire Mace (Llanfachraeth, 2021-03-01)

#421

As a child I lived in Four Mile Bridge and when I return to visit family, Penrhos is a place that I love to visit for the woods, wildlife, beaches and many significant memories. Whilst I have visited Bluestone in South Wales and appreciate that such a destination would bring many much needed jobs and trade, using a nature reserve which contains endangered species seems unjust. Surely another nearby site could be found? I"m shocked that Bluestone, given the types of people they attract, would forgo the homes of red squirrels and the like. Whilst I'm sure they would try to limit the destruction and effect on wildlife it seems implausible that this is possible at any significant level.

Helen Rowlatt (Swindon, 2021-03-01)

I only recently moved from Ynys Mon and l miss Penrhos much. It was my 'healing place', the place where l went to find peace, to be close with nature, where l scattered the ashes of my parents, walked my many dogs, shared with many friends. It is special, unique, tranquil and healing in this crazy sick and struggling world. The birds, wildlife, nature at it's finest - nothing should be allowed to destroy this place.

Christine Davies (Rhos on Sea, 2021-03-01)

#425

Penrhos should stay a nature park the benefits for local people are immense and after all it's the people of Holyhead who pay council tax and live on the island all year round - any building on Penrhos would be a desecration

Jean Egarr (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#427

We don't need another woodland gone that houses flora and fauna

Clair Taberner (Fareham , 2021-03-01)

#428

I believe the value of Penrhos Nature reserve/park is priceless to the people and families of the area and as a tourist attraction, but more importantly to the wildlife that has settled there over the past half a century. It's is diverse and widespread and will have nowhere to go once development begins. In no uncertain terms, the development of this is a selfish travesty.

Michael Gresham (Caernarfon, 2021-03-01)

#429

I am Holyhead born and bred , not living there now but still take an active interest in my home

Pauline Smith (Littlehampton, 2021-03-01)

#431

Penrhos contains an old broad leaf wood, possibly the largest on the island and a diverse ecology, including SSSI. It should be protected for the community.

Gillian Coates (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#438

We need somewhere to walk, hear birds, waves, see wildlife, for our grandchildren to climb trees and explore as we did as children.

Heather Evans (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#440

There is a lack of transparency in relation to this development having been agreed by ACC. Sensitive documents are missing/not available to view by the public on the council website. Planning was granted to plans incorporating large development of Kingsland/Cae Glas which were initially for use by the new Wylfa development workforce. As Wylfa B has now been shelved, a major part of the planned Land and Lakes development will not be required/is unlikely to be built, thus now being a totally different development to which the council agreed to pass. This will be a major change to what was originally proposed and agreed. At a time when grave warnings have been issued by natural historian David Attenborough about the loss of natural habitat, why have NRW backed a development on land which is a precious Coastal and ancient woodland habitat for rare and endangered species of flora and fauna?

Jane Kirchin (London, 2021-03-01)

#444

The UK has very few nature reserves in comparison with other countries and what little we do have must be preserved against development.

Becky Newman (Borth, 2021-03-01)

#450

Because it's a disgrace that the so called 'protected' red squirrels are being poisoned so that these holiday chalets can be built

Sarah Myers (Pentraeth, 2021-03-01)

#455

Penrhos has so many happy memories and I care about the wildlife

Gill Taylor (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#457

This development is not appropriate for this location.

Lesley Conran (Bangor, 2021-03-01)

#458

I’m signing because we need to see these papers. No council should hide and planning. Leave penrhos alone.

Elena Woolfenden (DEGANWY, 2021-03-01)

#460

I am signing because Penrhos Nature Reserve is a haven for both wildlife & people . We have fewer & fewer such places & it’s time to to put wildlife before profit & save some rapidly declining species

Sue Timperley (Valley, 2021-03-01)

#461

Our natural spaces must be preserved and cared for at all costs. There is no planet B.

Anna George (Woodbridge, 2021-03-01)

#463

This beautiful haven for red squirrels and wildlife should be preserved for all to enjoy.

Q Scarff (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#464

I want to keep penrhos as a nature reserve! No! To the chalet park. !!

Victoria Starkie (Llanfaethlu , 2021-03-01)

#466

We need to keep what’s left of our woodlands

Barbara Banks (Maisemore, 2021-03-01)

#468

You can’t create a nature/eco park by destroying the natural capital that is already there

Surinder Aluvihare (Leatherhead , 2021-03-01)

#469

Want to preserve the few trees left around Holyhead. Also to protect the walks & nature reserve.

Stephen Baldwin (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#470

Nature is precious and jobs supporting nature are more sustainable and eco friendly.

Deborah Gwilliam (Kendal, 2021-03-01)

#472

The Holyhead people were led to understand that we were given the Nature Reserve as a thank you for allowing Anglesey Aluminium to build their disgusting and dangerous factory. You can lie about a costal park all you like... I worked there and it was a Nature Reserve you lying thieving councillors... who’s getting the backhanders this week???

Janet Hughes (North Wales, 2021-03-01)

#474

I understand that important wildlife habitat is under threat from this planning application and I urge it to be reconsidered.

Carolyn Sharpe (Swansea, 2021-03-01)

#477

Due to the pandemic it has been realised how important Nature Reserves have been to help people suffering mental stress.

Sarina Channing (Caterham, 2021-03-01)

#478

We don't need another caravan park ,we need our nature!

Poppy Spencer (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#482

We should be leading the way in conservation, not allowing/supporting it's destruction

Kate Morgan (Lancaster, 2021-03-01)

#483

This would be a travesty to the local wildlife living there and to the residents of Anglesey who get to enjoy this beautiful NATURE RESERVE! We do not need an expensive holiday park that would price residents out of the area, provide minimal jobs at 0 contract hours and basic wage. Investment is needed in jobs but not at the cost of the nature reserves, which is what does bring our tourism here!

Samantha Mayor-Owen (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#484

I'm signing because I object to the development of Penrhos Nature Park which would cause the destruction of habitat for red squirrels, great crested newts badgers and many rare species of wildlife and the felling of ancient woodland.

Katharine Human (London, 2021-03-01)

#485

The council needs to be crystal clear on how they are dealing with this planning application. Big companies can be very persuasive; but the people need open spaces and nature reserves support both people and animals.

Jacqueline Abbott (Chesham, 2021-03-01)

#489

The nature reserve has always been a part of my life growing up and holds so many memories, as well as being a reserve and safe place for the Red squirrel it is abhorrent that the idea of developing it is even being slightly considered.

Charlotte Pratt (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#491

Penrhos Nature Reserve is a priceless treasure that needs saving

Aggie Lind (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#492

Penrhos Nature Reserve is an important site. At a time when nature and natural resources across the globe are being damaged and sacrificed to big business, it and sites like it need all the protection they can get.

Andy Macfarlane (Llanddaniel Fab, 2021-03-01)

#495

Our Nature reserves need to remain as that, and not be developed.

Chris Hall (Brighton, 2021-03-01)

#496

Penrhos nature reserve is essential for my mental health! I simply would suffer greatly without full access to the ancient woodland and it’s beautiful red squirrels and birds.

Naomi Taylor (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#497

I regard the Reserve as a special place , set aside many years ago for the enjoyment of locals and visitors, who appreciated the area as a place of tranquility and Nature. Also other issues of due diligence and process seem to have been missed in the past:
1. Transparency.
2. Missing documentation.
3. Character of our Welsh Heritage Coastline.
4. The effect of our green spaces/Amenity
5. Effect on designated conservation areas AONB/SSSI
6. The two sites Kingsland/Cae Glas will not be utilised. (No Wylfa N.P./Horizon Contractors)
7. The development plan has changed.
8. The policy should follow National planning policy Wales framework.
9. Over development of site.
10. Over bearing, out of scale and out of character with the nature and site.
11. A higher standard of design since original permission.
12. Impact on Landscape.
13. Highway safety.
14. Breach of Policy-Joint local development plan that has since been adopted 31 July 2017 for a 15 year period.

Dafydd Lloyd (Llangefni, 2021-03-01)

#498

I am fed up with the destruction of the natural environment - enough!

Shirley Belwood (Wimborne, 2021-03-01)

#502

Peidiwch dinistro'r llecyn hyfryd yma.

Huw Roberts (Caernarfon, 2021-03-01)

#504

I have lived in Holyhead all my life , and walk in Penrhos with my children and family , which gives us peace of mind knowledge, fun .The wild life , nature , and true beauty of this area should be treasured. And looked after . It worries me that the mass noise , felling of trees ( healthy ) , wildlife .Were there are areas all over Anglesey ready for land and lakes to move in . Once our beautiful Penrhos nature reserve is gone if is gone .

Keeley Watkinson (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#505

I’m signing because it is time to stop destroying the UK “rain forest” for the sake of tourism. We need the ecosystem more than people need holidays

Debbie Russell (Cardiff, 2021-03-01)

#506

It's a beautiful place for wildlife and walks

Sharon Atkinson (holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#507

I visit this park daily, we have dog walking, biking and running events that run through here all year long. It's a source for the local community to find freedom away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The younger generation get the opertunity to feel free in nature and explore the unknown in a safe environment. Its important we keep the nature reserve open not only for myself but for everyone who appreciates nature at its best.

Laura Chambers (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#508

The conditions anticipated when the application was passed have now changed, the area is a hugely important resource for the local community and an important wildlife habitat, home for endangered and protected species.

Claire Daly (Valley , 2021-03-01)

#511

A wonderful nature reserve that should not be lost for both the people of Angelsey and its visitors from elsewhere

Susan Kershaw (Mirfield , 2021-03-01)

#514

Penrhos is an area of outstanding natural beauty that is enjoyed by islanders and visitors alike.
It must be preserved in its entirety for the people to enjoy, and for the benefit of future generations.

Chris Evans (Wolverhampton, 2021-03-01)

#516

I feel that it's important to keep this area for its natural beauty, the red squirrels and other wildlife and plants. Also for the people of Anglesey and visitors to have somewhere to be able to walk in nature. I for one find it helps greatly with my mental health issues.

Elizabeth Smith (Holyhead , 2021-03-01)

#517

I’m signing because I’d like to save this beautiful area for future generations and I love to walk through here and relax and to save the wildlife of the area

Karen Plevin (Holyhead , 2021-03-01)

#518

This is a beautiful, peaceful site freely available for anyone to enjoy. It would have been unthinkable to spoilt it to provide accommodation for Construction workers at Wylffa Newydd. There is now no possible excuse!

Dorothy Salomons (Llanerchymedd, 2021-03-01)

#521

I want to save our beautiful nature reserves and wildlife.

Helena Newton-Welsh (hatfield, 2021-03-01)

#527

I'm appalled this project was allowed to be authorised. A nature preserve is called a nature preserve for a reason!

Peter Trengove (Carreglefn, 2021-03-01)

#531

Just love the nature reserve and think it should be left as it is.

Jackie Jones (Anglesey, 2021-03-01)

#536

This area is a valuable public open space, full of wild fauna and flora. It must not be lost to current and future generations.

Andrew Perrott (Llannddona, 2021-03-01)

#542

This plundering of environmental habitats has to stop. Councils prevented from pushing through projects under the cloak of Covid19 behind closed doors, lack of public transparency or consultation. It’s happening everywhere...at a time of the climate emergency paper pledges are being made towards ‘greening ‘ but lucrative projects approved that do just the opposite...it seems that bypassing environmental regulations is fine, overriding protections the norm these days..😢

Nesta Sreffens (Swansea, 2021-03-01)

#543

Penrhos should be left intact for the protection of the precious flora and fauna in the Nature Reserve.

Glynis Clements (Stockport, 2021-03-01)

#547

Houses don’t belong on Nature reserves!

Sue Andrews (Somerset , 2021-03-01)

#548

Major concerns for wildlife and many other factors

Neil Truelove (Pwllheli , 2021-03-01)

#549

Development will destroy it,and only so someone can get rich.

Hugh Roberts (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#553

I believe that if a company is genuinely interested in the care for the environment, they would not be looking at destroying the natural structure of woodland.

Rosalind Russell (WorthingWorthing, 2021-03-01)

#555

I am against chopping down tree and woodland for this purpose so someone can make a profit.

Heather Key (Nottingham , 2021-03-01)

#556

Penrhos nature reserve is an invaluable environmental site of immense biodiversity as well as being an outdoor recreational place for the people of Holyhead and Ynys Cybi, the loss of which would cause immense anger and distress.

Rachel Darwazeh (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#557

My family have holidayed on Anglesey for four generations and we are regular visitors to Penrhos Nature Reserve. It’s utterly shocking and very disturbing that building on this site is allowed to happen.

Emma Austin (Chester, 2021-03-01)

#563

I'm signing because Penrhos Coastal Park is the last area of woodland on Ynys Cybi, it is the lungs of the island. Destruction of this ancient woodland to build a holiday resort is an inappropriate use of land which already attracts many visitors.

Jane Crosby (Holyhead , 2021-03-01)

#565

I am fed up with the cynical exploitation of 'eco'. Ministry of Truth = Ministry of Lies. Eco tourism=Environmental Destruction. Seen it here too, with destruction of house martin nests to 'upgrade ' a village pub to a 'bird watchers paradise'!!

carol kuhlmann (ST DOGMAELS, 2021-03-01)

#566

The development proposals for Penrhos are permitting destruction of nature and green space and well-being opportunities. All at a time of a declared climate emergency and public health crisis.

Rob Jones (Holyhead, 2021-03-01)

#567

I have spent a lot of time on Ynys Mon during the last 60 years. It is my second home and breaks my heart to think of the destruction planned for this beautiful place. There are other places more suited to this development that are not nature reserves or as beautiful and important. Those supporting the plans need removing from the planet, never mind Ynys Mon!!

Anne Smith (Stoke on Trent, 2021-03-01)

#576

I am signing because I want to save Penrhos Nature Reserve from any development and to keep it as a nature reserve for all to use and enjoy.

Caroline Parry (Llannerch-y-Medd, Anglesey., 2021-03-01)

#577

This is one of my favourite places to visit. Always full of beautiful wildlife, like the rare red squirrels. The forest is stunning. Save the trees!

Vanessa BARRY (Buxton, 2021-03-01)

#579

This woodland must be preserved it is not justified to remove it when we are going through a climate crisis. This woodland is also critical habitat for wildlife and the well-being of locals

Sharon Smith (Newport , 2021-03-01)

#583

Penrhos is a beautiful park and we are so lucky to have red squirrels settled there.

Kerry Singleton (Pencarnisiog , 2021-03-01)

#587

These precious areas should be preserved for the wildlife and fauna for future generations.

Jean Starnes (Par, 2021-03-01)

#588

Penrhos Nature reserve is the only woodland on Holyhead and surrounding area that the public have access to . We have enjoyed its glorious nature and paths for a great many years. It is located beside a SSSI and within a dedicated AONB. Woodland , especially deciduous woodland is disappearing at an alarming rate in the UK we have so little of it left we need to preserve and protect what little we have here on Holy Island.

David Jones (Holyhead , 2021-03-01)

#590

It's a haven as it is and not the place for 400 plus intrusive structures however eco friendly they may look. It's another commercial project to line folks pockets with money.

Lyn Lewis (Hull, 2021-03-01)

#592

The continuing destruction of natural areas, especially on Anglesey, is cause for great concern. The amount of wildlife is diminishing and the development of Nature reserves need to be stopped.

Jean Smith (Altrincham, 2021-03-01)

#593

I'M SIGNING THIS BECAUSE SUCH A HUGE DEVELOPMENT GOES AGAINST THE ETHOS OF ECO-DEVELOPMENT AND WILL DESTROY MANY ACRES OF WONDERFUL HABIT FOR MANY SPECIES OF WILDLIFE!!

JULIE Crowson M.B.E.. (WAINFLEET, SKEGNESS, 2021-03-01)

#599

Once again nature is destroyed for profit...instead of using nearby brown sights mature tree's are cut down and a mature habitat destroyed..releasing yet more carbon dioxide which has been trapped, into the atmosphere which is contributing to global warming.
When are people going to learn..we can't survive without nature.

Michele Jackson (Plymouth , 2021-03-01)
