STOP WEELEY FIREWORKS! SAVE THE LIVESTOCK AND ANIMALS

#3605

I know just how terrified my dog gets at the sound of fireworks - even in the distance, there's something about the bangs and crackles that reduces her to a quivering frightened wreck - and she's not alone. I love fireworks, but my pleasure is not worth the fear of thousands of animals.

Geoffrey Parsons (Wellington, 2020-10-21)

#3606

Fireworks are distressing for all animals and should be acceptable anymore. Especially when they are available for any idiot to misuse.

Sharon Pereira (Watford, 2020-10-21)

#3611

How can the organisers justify the stress the fireworks will cause to humans and animals? If you must have a display, move it away from farm animals who will be terrified.

Naomi Wordsworth (Stoke Poges, 2020-10-21)

#3613

Fireworks should be banned other than an organised display away from animals

LESLEY Jones (Southampton , 2020-10-21)

#3614

I’m signing because fireworks are terrifying for almost all animals. I had a golden retriever with a serious heart problem, he was on medication all his life after being diagnosed with grade 5 aortic stenosis at 7 months old. Between November and January it was hell for him, he was terrified of fireworks and would hide under tables when they boomed and reverberated through the walls of the house.

Animals outside, like horses, cattle, sheep and wild animals have no way of escaping the fireworks either. Where fireworks are permitted, they should be silent. There is no need for the ones that explode making loud noises.

Geoff Howard (Birmingham, 2020-10-21)

#3619

Animals of all kinds, pets and wild animals, are absolutely terrified of fireworks. Fireworks should not be allowed anywhere near to horses, pets, livestock and wild animals. In other words, ban them completely and have silent light displays as other countries have.

Valerie Patmore (Grays Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3620

Not being asked to stop the fireworks just to relocate. Especially as NOT just one event but two! Sounds like this is very close to many animals.

J Handley (Minehead, 2020-10-21)

#3621

Of all the people who will suffer if the fireworks go ahead, the local elderly, PTSD sufferers, animals, the environment and worst of all, the NHs picking up the pieces from all those who subsequently catch Covid from expected large gathering

Elaine Stone (Carshalton, 2020-10-21)

#3625

There are animals in the next field that will be affected.

Emma Smith (Clacton-On-Sea , 2020-10-21)

#3627

Due to covid this event poses a risk and also due to the animals in close proximity. I personally feel that fireworks should not take place.

Tanya Hawkins (Hampshire, 2020-10-21)

#3630

I am signing this petition because animals suffer when fireworks are let off.

Gillian Crowley (Chichester, 2020-10-21)

#3631

I don’t agree with fireworks and what they do to any animals

Lorraine Woodley (Buckinghamshire, 2020-10-21)

#3635

The distress to livestock caused by repetitive loud noises from fireworks released close by, not to mention the chance of injury, is animal cruelty. Organising large gatherings during the COVID crisis is also highly irresponsible!

Jacqueline Vandome (Preston , 2020-10-21)

#3637

I am opposed to fireworks because of the danger to animals and birds, because of the noise, and because of the environmental damage of their residue.

Carol Brinson (Midhurst, 2020-10-21)

#3638

This is clearly an unsuitable location for a fireworks display and should be relocated or if not possible to relocate it should be stopped on animal welfare grounds

Ann George (Norwich, 2020-10-21)

#3644

Fireworks should be banned

Colin Reed (St Helens, 2020-10-21)

#3651

Not just because of the obvious danger and distress to animals but fireworks use up finite supplies of minerals and create pollution because they are essentially chemical fertiliser - algal bloom can be a particular problem in clogging waterways.

Jonathan Squire (Milton Keynes, 2020-10-21)

#3653

all fireworks should be banned

Lisa stokes (lhampshire, 2020-10-21)

#3660

stop the stress and suffering!

Nichola Potter (Buggleswade, 2020-10-21)

#3661

We MUST speak up for all innocent animals. ALL animals and many vunerable people are scared and nervous of loud noises. I implore you to please hold the display at a different venue sufficiently far away not to needlessly alarm any innocent animals or people

Thyrza Dustan (Exeter, 2020-10-21)

#3662

Fireworks should be banned where animals are affected.

Lynne Steele (Liverpool , 2020-10-21)

Katrina Wiggins (Frinton , 2020-10-21)

#3677

My animals have suffered terribley

Julia Rogers (Cambridge , 2020-10-21)

#3678

I have seen what happens when fireworks are let off near barns housing livestock and straw/hay.

Sheila Wilson (Paignton, 2020-10-21)

#3679

Animals and some elderly people are terrified of the bomb like fireworks. This is effectively animal abuse.

Phil Howard (Solihull, 2020-10-21)

#3683

I’m deeply concerned about the fear all these animals can be put through

Katrina Brett (Uttoxeter , 2020-10-21)

#3685

I am concerned for the welfare of the livestock, wild birds and other wildlife such as foxes and badgers and people corsed by noisy fireworks , the sudden horrid explosions are very stressful, and I think it is long overdue that all loud banging fireworks should be banned for sale to the public who should be limited to quiet ones. Thank you. James Hobbs.

James Hobbs (Southend On Sea, 2020-10-21)

#3688

Because I have 3 horses of my own,,, and whole heartily agree with everything Charlie has stated,,,, the event should be moved to some where away from livestock and the elderly

Lyn Hackshaw (Clacton on sea , 2020-10-21)

#3690

Fireworks displays are possibly important for public morale at this difficult time, but not at the expense of the safty and well-being of animals and vulnerable residents.

Christopher Fletcher-Campbell (Oxford, 2020-10-21)

#3691

I am a pet owner and have witnessed first hand the stress and fear firework have on animals. To hold such a huge event so close to farms and livestock is unthinkable and the torment it will cause these poor animals and potentially their offspring.

Claire Dingley (Crayford, 2020-10-21)

#3698

Fireworks can cause unnecessary suffering. Please cancel this event or move to a more suitable location.

Sue Harrington (BRIGHTON, 2020-10-21)

#3706

I think fireworks should be banned completely !

Sue Sorrell (Clacton on sea , 2020-10-21)

#3709

I'm signing here because I am sure there is another location that could be used without causing distress.

Julian Penn (Gosport, 2020-10-21)

#3710

It is outrageous that fireworks and firework displays are deemed socially acceptable. I find it extremely offensive that people wish to inflict such extreme noise on others. Fireworks are also terrifying for wildlife and pets. The location for this proposed display of fireworks is completely inappropriate.

Ken Simpson (WOKING, 2020-10-21)

#3711

My dogs (and I) suffered years of misery: for at least two weeks before, and a week after Bonfire Night, kids would be letting off fireworks from school leaving time until - midnight, some nights. All I could do was hang onto their collars and sit there making soothing noises, wretched that the noise from the telly didn't cover the din; and that some nights I didn't even get to go for a wee, much less eat! I think that's reason enough to sign, don't you? Oh - I'm now 71, which by my reckoning is a bit more than 16! - and sadly, my dogs died some years ago: both healthy cross-breeds, rescued dogs, one aged 17 and the other just over 18.

Val Gaize (Studley, 2020-10-21)

#3715

Animals should be protected

JAYNE CHEEK (STOCKTON HEATH WARRINGTON, 2020-10-22)

#3716

I support any project to protect our animals and pets

Mark Richardson (Rayleigh, 2020-10-22)

#3718

I've seen the effect of firework on pets at my neighbour's house and I felt trully sorry for the poor guys. I'm not sure what was going through their heads at the time, but based on the amount of effort it took to calm them down I'm sure it was nothing cheery. The whole experience is more than enough for me to sign this petition in an effort to help all the animals that can't protect themselves nor can have their say in the matter.

Roman Beno (Dublin, 2020-10-22)

#3723

The potential harm that this event could cause animals and nearby residents is too great. Especially as another venue/site could be found.

Frances Courtney (Dronfield , 2020-10-22)

#3724

Every year it's the same dread a couple of weeks before 5th November and a couple of weeks after. Not to mention throughout the year. My Dog positively hates fireworks and loud noises. She cowers in a corner trembling. I know of many pet owners who have this problem and have deal with it.
It's not on and something needs to be done to protect all animals, domestic, wild and farm. Animals in zoos and wildlife parks.

Jayne Knight (Grimsby, 2020-10-22)

#3725

Animals need protection against all the really noisy fireworks

Ann Armstrong (Sittingbourne, 2020-10-22)

#3730

My dog is terrified of fireworks it is an extremely stressful time for animals

Yvonne McNeilage (Glasgow , 2020-10-22)

#3733

Firework displays have their place. Unfortunately, many times they are misplaced, unnecessary and a public nuisance. Please put more guidance on the sale of them. It’s well overtime.

Deborah Baldwin (Cheltenham , 2020-10-22)

#3738

I have animals myself and have experienced first hand the effect and distress caused by fireworks.

Georgina Richardson (Cornwall, 2020-10-22)

The irresponsible use of fireworks has a devastating impact on animals. I personally believe that all fireworks should be banned.

Alison Yates (Rugby, 2020-10-22)

People must learn to live in harmony with animals. They have a right to a peaceful life and not be terrorized by fireworks and other disturbing noises

Mary rivas (riverton, 2020-10-22)

Christina Cornell (Anglesey , 2020-10-22)

#3761

I am signing this because, cruelty to animals is a sin far worse than the sin of cruelty to human beings.

R K Pillai (Mumbai, 2020-10-22)

#3763

I value the welfare of animals over and above the 15 mins of possible enjoyment that fireworks can offer.

Norma santner (pontyclun, 2020-10-22)

#3764

The venue for this display is completely inappropriate and takes no account of the surrounding livestock, stables and residential housing.

Francesca Morrison (Redruth, 2020-10-22)

#3765

I cannot believe that one firework 'extravaganza' is going to take place in an area where so many animals are going to be affected, let alone two!
It's bad enough that displays frighten the poor wildlife, pets & people, but to do it in an area where there are many farm animals too is just disgusting. And to do it twice is just pure insanity.
THIS MUST BE STOPPED.
Also, how is this going to work with Covid-19 distancing, masks etc too?
Cancel it full stop!

Heidi Wheeler-Rogers (LLANELLI, 2020-10-22)

#3769

It is too inconsiderate to even contemplate that idiots think this is alright. Save the animals from the stress this would cause.

Jerry Brown (Newtownards, 2020-10-22)

#3774

There is lots of livestock in the fields around this area and they will be petrified and possible come to harm because of this.

Jenny Martin (Waterlooville, 2020-10-22)

I care for animals and wildlife that are often severely affected by fireworks, especially in such close proximity!

Vanessa Seager (Claiton on Sea, 2020-10-22)
