The WCED must stop crucifying our teachers and principals. Mr Neumann is a principled principal that cares for his community and he is trying everything in his power to restore Heathfield High to its former glory. The WCED should stop its bullying tactics! You are the driving force that promotes inequality. Our children deserve an education department that governs in the best interest of our teachers and learners. Its evidently clear that its not Mr Neumann that lacks leadership, it is the WCED.

Laura Mostert (Cape Town, 2020-09-29)

I'm a student at heatfield and appreciate and respect all changes and handwork that happen at Heatfield because of Mr Nuemann

I believe in fairness and transparency in leadership and inclusion of all stakeholders. The SGB did the right thing by challenging a system that only considers the priviledged. Equal education for all. Don't be petty and scapegoat the Principal of Heathfield High. We say no to bullying tackticks..No to the abuse of power.
The WCED should be praising Mr Neumann he identified a gap in the education system and stood his ground together with the school community a true servant leader.I wish him all the best The WCED needs more leaders like the 4 principals. I am the product of Healthfield high and have experience of the inequality in the education system. Doing the right thing sometimes means going against the system. The system needs to be challenged if its needs re-engeneering.Debbie take this one on the chin and make Wesley Neumann part of your team.

Principal Wesley Neumann acted in the best interest of his school children and staff. He has my full support. This is nothing but a witch hunt, to bring to book which the powers that be see as persons who do not abide by their '' rules''. Very much baaskap mentality. Please, get into the 21st century WCED. This is a man of high regard and much esteem within his Community and school Heathfield High School where he is Principal at. An Injury to one is an Injury to ALL. I believe this witchhunt on our principals and Teachers must stop, especially those who still have the courage to stand up and advocate for the interest of children from disadvantaged communities, a leader is defined by the position he holds in a time of controversy. When he choose the side of the poor when it is not a fashion to do so, and Mr Neumann has been that leader. 👊🏾

He stood up for what was right, what his first priority was learner and teachers safety. Can't say that about the education department, squandering millions where it could have been put to better use in the school. Mr. Neumann is a legend and will always be...

I believe Mr. Neumann as he has proven to be an excellent principal.

Berri Marks (Steenberg, 2020-09-29)

#98

I disagree with WCED's treatment of Mr Neumann. Mr Neumann is a man of integrity & he has strong leadership abilities. In his short tennure at Heathfield High, he has made a huge difference in the lives of his teachers, learner's & the greater community. Allowing the WCED to get away with their autocratic, bullying tactics must NOT happen. Our schools need leaders like Mr Neumann!!! He is a treasure.

Teachers and Principal's voices should taken into consideration, particularly with clear moral issues. Bullying and victimization of Educators who express their opinion should never occur nor be a route used by the Education Department to silence, or worse.. get rid of principled Educators.

It is the right to defend a man of courage.

Pamela Steyn (Cape Town, 2020-09-29)

#139

I think children are taking advantage of the fact that they can not be disciplined at school, though some teacher take advantage of their power again. However, pointing a finger is not assault. We were disciplined when we were out of line, the child should be suspended for being intoxicated. I also believe that Covid 19 is no joke and agree that schools should've been closed in the heat of the pandemic as clearly there was no guaranteeing their safety. Nothing can replace a life if it is lost.

Erfaan Isaacs (Cape Town, 2020-09-29)

#144

The education department is once again trying to silence those educators who do not want to toe their line. It has been ongoing for decades, same old tactics as the apartheid government, bullying/ kragdadig . They fail to address the illegal appointment of their own who is instrumental in trying to discipline the PRINCPAL . They need to realize that the PRINCIPAL is a principled person looking out for his staff, pupils and the broader community.

Alan Petersen (Cape Town Heathfield , 2020-09-29)

#146

He takes care of his community and he is a Good leader God will protect him and knows his heart

Carlyn Willliams (Capetown , 2020-09-29)

#148

He had the courage to stand up and tell the truth. Not like so many our sheep that closed their eyes to WCED and their idiotic policies. In any other country he would be hailed as a leader but in this DA lead province they do not allow people to disagree with them

Stanley Patience (Western Cape, 2020-09-29)

#154

I hate bullying andr. Neumann is being bullied.

Rafeeq Kajie (Cape Town , 2020-09-29)

#163

Principal Neumann took seriously a public health matter (During CoVID19) that all parents supported, and which the WC Government and the Democratic Alliance did not heed.

In the end the President closed down the schools for several weeks.

I believe that the President's actions moots the entire case.

Furthermore, we need more people like Principal Neumann in South African Basic education department. We do not need an inept organisation disciplining a principal for doing the RIGHT THING... for doing something that they should have escalated.

C Doyle (Cape Town, 2020-09-29)

#165

I am signing because I believe that Mr Wesley Neumann is a man of integrity and he should not be punished for what is right.

Renee Poragadu (Johannesburg , 2020-09-29)

I am signing the petition as Mr Newman had the best interest of the students and their families at heart and I feel this is very unfair to punish a good person that was only trying to help so many of us felt the same way and Mr Newman spoke on behalf of all of us.

Its appalling what they doing to a good person. He is an example to many. He is what our country needs now. Some one standing up for everyone else around him. His our voice. Seeing we are not loud enough. He does things which is in the best interest of the teachers including the learners.

Danielle Ross (Cape Town , 2020-09-29)

#181

Im signing because I believe in the just cause that Mr Neumann is now being charged with and the protection of his right to stand for justice and truth.

Derek Ronnie (Cape Town, 2020-09-29)

#185

Mr Neumann has done nothing wrong. The department should stop defending rude children and the WCED should leave our leaders alone..

Juliet Adriaans (ENG, 2020-09-29)

#193

I’m signing this petition to show my support for freedom of speech and to stop the bullying and intimidation tactics of the Western Cape Education Department and Debbie Schafer.

Michelle Jaftha (Cape Town , 2020-09-29)

#197

I support Mr Wesley Neumann as his intentions were pure and without malice..The WCED is suppose to be the "parent" department of the schools who inturn look after and educate children. Why should Wesley Neumann be prosecuted for standing up for children, is it safe to assume that WCED is NOT looking after the well being of our children?? Is this a right reserved for elite schools only?? Did the DA forget who voted them into power in the Western Cape??
