I’m signing because the government hasn’t shown any serious step in providing a comprehensive economic recovery plan, and first and foremost because political parties supporting the government are part of the problem not part of the solution.

I am fed up of the corruption in my native Lebanon. Any previous aid or debt did not help the country but was used to line up the pockets of the ruling elite. This has to stop

MOUNIR Abdelnour (beaconsfield , 2020-05-30)

The citizens are ready to compromise as long as the IMF doesn’t indirectly fuel corruption. Keeping the same governance laws will push for defaulting and more corruption, and once again deceive creditors and investors, and citizens. The current plan presented to IMF is an arithmetic play that hides a complete disintegration of the private sector, and will force citizens to pay for the government’s repeated corruption. It won’t lead to confidence, and will destroy what’s left of the free market economy and the private sector

Elie Bassil (Beirut, 2020-05-30)

#1109

I am fed up with the rampant corruption, with the politicians, the judges, the warlord, and all the political parties sharing the spoil of the country between them

Nabil Khayat (Riyadh, 2020-05-30)

In my judgement, one main reason behind the collapsing Lebanese economy is the collapse of our ethical value system, if any. This is an endemic problem rooted in history, culture, and most importantly education. We desperately need educational and ethical reforms that could not be possibly self-driven. We certainly need external help to initiate such a colossal reform movement. In this context, the IMF support may well be an appropriate start.

George Hassoun (Batha, Kesrouan , 2020-05-30)

No trust in lebanese politicians ethics

Elie Azzi (Jeddah, 2020-05-30)

I am confident that the problem in Lebanon is primarily political before being financial or economic. Change of the system is mandatory and most importantly the Independence of Law.
