We do not believe 'the state' should have anything at all to do with education, full stop.

As a Christian, I greatly dislike Government interference in matters of faith, and the hard won freedoms associated therewith.

Howard Hawes (Newport, 2018-07-17)

I'm signing because the State is not to play 'god' and dictate to or punish Christians for retaining Christian moral values within the education of their young. The State is already seeking to undermine Creationism and
promote transgenderism and homosexuality without debate being allowed in the teaching of these topics in its advice to private schools. This move to monitor families who are homeschooling is an attempt to enforce the same naturalistic and athiestic agenda on the very ones who wanted freedom from such errors. British Education has traditionally prized freedom of speech and promoted tolerance between people, though they may radically disagree in their worldview. May this continue.

David Barnes (Littlehampton, 2018-07-17)

I think that, with the heavy load on schools these days due to uncontrolled mass immigration, home schooling is a vitally important part of the education system. Many parents may be denied the opportunity to give their kids a better education than an overcrowded school can.

Dale Saunders (Sheerness, 2018-07-17)

I am signing because I am a home educating parent and wholeheartedly disagree with the government's draft guidelines for home education.

Marta Drew (Leigh, 2018-07-17)

Parents should have the right to homeschool their children as they wish. The government has lost parents’ confidence that what their children are taught in schools really project their desires.

Irene Faseyi (Crewe, 2018-07-17)

I support home school networks.

Ofstead are not fit for purpose and should not be allowed to have any contact including influence and 'support' with home schoolers.

I believe that justice should prevail.

Victor John (Huddersfield, 2018-07-18)

Because I believe parents should have the freedom of choice on all matters of home schooling and the faith education system and this should be personal and above those of any Government proposal .

Audrey Pratt (Hitchin, 2018-07-18)

We consider both approaches to be an attack on freedom of speech, on freedom of choice, on freedom of association, on family life, and inasmuch as Christianity or indeed some other belief system may form the backdrop to a parental desire to provide education 'otherwise' than at school, on religious freedom.

Children belong to their parents, not the state

Terence Scarborough (Tavistock, 2018-07-18)

#457

parents are responsible for the up bringing of their children and that they can choose to access government services for the provision of education if that is their choice. Each parent is uniquely placed to make decisions as to what kind of education is in the best interests of their child and the freedom to make those decisions should not be usurped by the government. To do so would be a step away from freedom of expression, towards control which is contrary to the British values which our government purports to uphold.

Andrea Laity (BRISTOL, 2018-07-18)

#458

The Government needs to stop trying to control everyone and everything! You have not got the right and the electorate has not given you that right.

Valerie Williams (Bristol, 2018-07-18)

Am doing this as my granddaughter has to learn at her own speed with one to one as she is on the spectrum and she is coming along in leaps and bounds learning what is needed in everyway it is the best thing for most children now as the norm of eduction has gone down due to time money class sizes and placements to name a few

Christian parents should have the right to teach what the Bible teaches not what the world think. The Bible is used in court to swear on therefore it must be seen as truth. So we teach truth on marriage and relationship and the true God.

I have two granddaughters who have been home educated and it is the very best you can do for your children.

Christians are being discriminated against

NORMAN ATTERBURY (BUILTH WELLS, 2018-07-20)

It is the responsibility of parents to ensure the right teaching of their own children. The registration and oversight of local authorities is a very oppressive move to intimidate parents given also the present power of the state. It is a very worrying development also in view of the acceptance of same sex marriage and the whole transgender lobby, promises made about not expanding these issues into school have been broken. This move is wicked and is the type of action of a Police state.

Vic Hollinrake (Ct19 4EE, 2018-07-21)

I want parents to be the prime educators of children not the state if that is their choice.

Mary Rowe (West Hill, 2018-07-21)

#503

Parents are the first educators of children. We home educated one of our four children for three years because we believed that what was being offered to him in the state system would totally disengage him. It would damage him for the the future. As it has turned out, he is the most competent of the four.
I am also concerned about the values state education promote or perhaps more significantly, fail to promote.

Ian Spence (Birmingham, 2018-07-21)

God instructed parents, not the State, to train up their children. 'Training' includes education.

Elizabeth McDonald (Rochester, 2018-07-21)

#512

I believe in this freedom to educate ones own children as Christians if so desired.

Glynn Williams (Sheffield, 2018-07-24)

#513

Parents should be the ones who decide ultimately what their children are taught, it is not the job of the state so if parents decide to homeschool their children the state should have no say in what they do. Likewise, children who are at state schools should only be taught what is sanctioned by the parents and should not go against what the majority wish for their children.

Jane Bowtell (Blaenau Ffestiniog, 2018-07-24)

#514

It is important for parents to have control over the things their children are taught.

Malwyn & Mary Rowe (IPSWICH, 2018-07-26)

I support grandchildren who are being home-schooled by Christian home-school materials.

I know many children who greatly benefited from home schooling and this is the best ever system of education for a child.

I am a pediatrician by my primary medical speciality.

I home Ed 2 children who have ptsd from school. One child has additional needs and was neglected and failed by school.
The other was deregister because she was bullied by children and teachers including her head of year and head teacher. Yes bullied by adults. This lead he to be sucidel and self harm.

Schools are not fit for purpose for so many reasons and this is the area that needs to be addressed. I won't allow my children any risk of a under qualified LA who is bias to force my children back into an unsafe environment

Our Inherited Rights and Freedoms are God's given, no politicians or government can take these Rights away or ristrict us to exercise them unless We The People voluntarily consented. And we did not!

Tamara Veze (HAYWARDS HEATH, 2022-06-06)

This takes away the rights from parents and does not in any shape of form take in to consideration the damage this could cause to the child and family.

Maria Watson (York, 2022-07-19)

I believe in home schooling and the freedom of choice for each family
