I am signing because Mr Mountford is one of the best teachers Haywood has ever had and it would be a shame to see him leave

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#205

He was an amazing teacher who was always passionate about his job. If a child was misbehaving he would tell them to settle down.

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-26)

#210

He was a quality teacher

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#212

This is a huge set back for the school, and it is completely undeserved that he is getting treated this way. It is totally uncalled for. Mr Mountford was one of my teachers for my a levels and during my last year I have had to have a supply teacher when we had his lessons. This of course put me behind on my work as he was a great help to us all and wanted the best for us all.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#214

Think it's unfair on the teacher

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#218

My daughter thinks he's brill and shouldn't be treated in this way

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-26)

#220

he helped everyone so much and even offered his break and dinners to help and support students

(Stoke, 2017-04-26)

#221

He was a good teacher and if every teacher got treated like this for tapping a student who was distributing their lessons in the first place !? Then half of them would probably be gone

(Stoke, 2017-04-26)

#222

I'm signing because me mountford was one of the best teachers ever and what he said about it was no harm to the student it was to motivate the student it was he always does it and says come on let's try and answer the question I've never come across to have mr mountford as a teacher but had him a couple of times on phse day and on accasions like supply teachers and was really good at teaching I believe that mr mountford should not have been sacked from his job and restricted from teaching for a miss understanding ... I hope that everyone else will do everything In there power to bring back Mr mountford and his teaching career !

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#223

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#224

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#226

Mr mountford was a great passionate teacher and by his own admissions things have been taken out of context and I don't feel that It's fair because of this one action that has been admitted to that he has had to loose the career that he has trained hard for the teaching society have a lost a fab teacher

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#228

im signing because mr mountford is better than all the other dt teachers

(stoke, 2017-04-26)

#230

My son told me he was the very best teacher, he should carry on being the very best teacher.

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#232

Mr Mountford was a great teacher, in all my time at Haywood High School from year 7 to year 11, I had lessons with him and i had never had any issues with him or heard of anyone who did, he was a very calm, chilled out individual, and I feel that it's not fair on him the way he's been treated and sacked out of his 13 years long job, that he loved, and was extremely extremely good at..

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#235

Former pupil, fantastic teacher.

(stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#239

he was a great teacher and doesn't deserve all the bad attention he's had

(stoke on trent , 2017-04-26)

#242

Great teacher, the profession needs him

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#243

Previous student.

He is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who has a trusting and positive relationship with his students.

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#245

I have several special memories of Mr Mountford and green power racing the car he's a fab teacher

(stoke-on trent, 2017-04-26)

#246

Mr Mountford taught me for design for 2/3 years I took design while at Haywood. Mr Mountford was an amazing teacher and it was easy to have a laugh and a joke with him and he was most definitely one of my favourite teachers. I don't believe for a second that he would cause intention harm to a child at all.

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-26)

#247

He was an amazing teacher and doesn't deserve all the bad treatment he's going through now

(Stoke-On-Trent, 2017-04-26)

#253

Mr mountford has been unfairly dismissed by the school and wrongly charged

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#257

Great teacher

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#258

Mr Mountford is a great teacher who doesn't deserve this

(Stoke-on-Trent , 2017-04-26)

#260

Mr Mountford is an exceptional guy, such a shame that this parent has had to take things as far as he has, for the sake of his own personal vendetta or opportunistic legal action /claim all he's achieved has been to deprive his son and the rest of his class the opportunity of being taught by an exceptional teacher, not to mention the generations of children th hat would follow.!

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-26)

#264

I'm signing this because I believe Mr Mountford was a brilliant teacher with a heart of gold. I do not believe for one second he would do anything purposely to hurt a student or anyone else for that matter. I don't think he deserved to loose his job because he was a brilliant person and worked so well at the school.
I had him in year 8 (am now in year 11) and can honestly say he was the best teacher I had. He was there to help with work when needed and was just such a good teacher in general.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#268

Stand up bloke

(Stoke, 2017-04-26)

#269

He was such a good teacher wouldnt do that to anyone!

(Stoke, 2017-04-26)

#272

My nieces went to Haywood and he was a great teacher and will be a loss to the teaching profession .

(Stoke on trent , 2017-04-26)

#273

Because he is a really good DT.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#275

He was a great teacher, all of us ex students and the current students at Haywood should take a stand!

(Stoke, 2017-04-27)

#276

As an ex student I can honestly say he is one of the greatest people you could be taught by. He is supportive, helpful, fun and a handful of other things that make him up to be a great teacher. When other teachers would make you feel like you will fail he made you feel like you could do anything you wanted if you put your mind to it. He now deserves the support he gave to all his students.

(Rhyl, 2017-04-27)

#278

I'm signing because I believe this man was a brilliant teacher to my wife to be and he doesn't deserve to loose his career over brushing a students head its wrong

(Stoke , 2017-04-27)

#281

Mr Mountford was a great teacher and did nothing wrong

(Stoke-on-Trent , 2017-04-27)

#283

I know him personally great man and great personality. Do anything to help and encourage people to the right path.

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-04-27)

#287

He's a amazing man and teacher, class of 2010

(Stoke on trent , 2017-04-27)

#289

He was such a good teacher and the whole situation has been blown up way too much, it's a total overreaction

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-27)

#291

He's an amazing teacher and it would be a waste.

(Stoke On Trent, 2017-04-27)

#297

I do not agree with the action taken, totally uncalled for the law is an ass

(stoke on trent, 2017-04-27)

#298

He helped me so much with my design coursework despite him not being my actual teacher.

(Stoke, 2017-04-27)

#299

This is not justice. This is farcical. This man touched the child, he didn't beat him or hurt him in anyway. Britain cannot be bullied like this by its own children because that will not help them integrate when they're older. It's time to change these stupid senseless 'laws' and allow adults to provide gentle discipline to children. This is how all beings learn: an expression of displeasure generally stops unwanted behaviour by children

(Caernarfon, 2017-04-27)

#300

He doesn't deserve punishment for something he didn't do. Children should respect teachers but it doesn't happen anymore.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-28)

#301

Mr Mountford is a loved teacher by all the students and he was also a great one that helped out a lot

(Stoke-on-trent, 2017-04-28)

#306

He taught me and he's one of the nicest teacher I have ever met out of all high schools I've been to

(Macclesfield , 2017-04-28)

#310

This matter has been taken to far. He was my sons teacher and helped him a lot with his work even in his own time.

(Staffordshire , 2017-04-28)

#312

In case he wants to keep his job.

(Leek, 2017-04-28)

#316

My son is in this teachers class and he tells me what a kind, brilliant teacher he is .... we need more like him

(Stoke On trent, 2017-04-28)

#318

Seems very harsh. Teachers have a very hard job trying to control unruly pupils

(Staffordshire, 2017-04-28)

#321

A great and enthusiastic teacher, does not deserve his family history of teaching to be ruined. The whole ordeal seems rather blown out of proportion. I want to know what the young boy really thinks about all this.....when not influenced by his father,

(stoke on trent, 2017-04-28)

#322

He was a great guy and doesnt deserve this

(Stoke, 2017-04-28)

#326

Brilliant teacher, no threat to anybody! He doesn't deserve this! Justice for Mr Mountford!

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-29)

#327

I'm supporting this case and this teacher does not deserve this it's very disappointing that the headteacher the pupil involved and the parents of the pupil have reached such pathetic measures to ruin someones life

(Stoke on trento , 2017-04-29)

#329

He was a brilliant teacher! Always used to have a good laugh with him

(Stoke-on-Trent , 2017-04-29)

#330

He hasnt done nothing wrong

(Stoke, 2017-04-30)

#337

He was a brilliant teacher when I was there and he doesn't deserve this treatment!

(Stoke on trent, 2017-05-03)

#338

I'm signing in because this man carried and practically got me my btec distinction in engineering with his strong persuasive caring attitude towards education and students

(Stoke on trent , 2017-05-07)

#339

A person doesn't deserve to lose his job because of people trying to make money of him in court. If the child was doing as he was told the incident would have never happened, the whole world has gone soft and lack discipline in schools is the start of the lack of respect for others in the world.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-05-10)

#342

I'm signing because the sacking of Mr Mountford is a disgracefull miscarriage of justice. It gives a green light to any pupil to misbehave and effectively nullifies the authority of teachers in the classroom. This was an awefull PC decision made by a cowardly school governing body who should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

(stoke on trent, 2017-05-10)

#344

Our teachers gave a clip around the head because we deserved it. A disgrace that an obviously well loved teacher should have his life wreck because of some badly behaved childs moan at justice.

(Keighley, 2017-05-10)

#346

He should have not lost his job over this.

(Stoke on Trent , 2017-05-10)

#347

There is obviously so much respect for this teacher from other pupils and parents which shows what an excellent teacher he is. It is so wrong that his career is over because of one idiot of a father who has other issues

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-05-10)

#350

my wife and i both feel strongly about this and the wider issue.Teachers no longer have an effective sanction against bad behaviour

(Stoke On Trent, 2017-05-10)

#352

What is happening isn't fair

(Newcastle , 2017-05-10)

#353

A disruptive child should not have the power to destroy a man's career.

(STOKE-ON-TRENT, 2017-05-10)

#362

It's unfair on teachers these days kids should be punished for their behaviour to

(Newcastle under lyme, 2017-05-10)

#363

This case should never have gone so far, its unjust that this techer has lost his career over such a triviality!

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-05-10)

#366

Teachers need support

(Stoke-on-Trent , 2017-05-10)

#370

There is too many teachers losing their livelihood because parents cannot keep their kids in check and can't accept that their kids are in the wrong. I work at a school and believe me the way some of these kids speak to the teachers is absolutely shocking, and the teachers are not allowed to do anything about it, there is no wonder we're turning so many criminals out.

(staffordshire, 2017-05-10)

#371

Good teachers are hard to find

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-05-10)

#373

Disruptive pupils shouldn't have that amount of power to destroy committed teachers

(STOKE-ON-TRENT, 2017-05-10)

#375

Minor assaults should not automatically lead to dismissal.

(Cheltenham, 2017-05-10)

#376

A great injustice has been done and this is an example of why there is lack of discipline in our state schools.

(Middlewich, 2017-05-11)

#377

He should be allowed to work elsewhere

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-05-11)

#382

I used to be in Mr Mountford's class studying at Haywood from 2007 - 2012
I can honestly say that he was one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure to learn from.
Kids have far too much power at school & they know it. Misbehaving, disrupting other students learning, pushing teachers buttons & then running home crying to mummy and Daddy when things don't go their way. And who's fault is it in the end? The teachers. Its a shame that it's gotten like this. Bring back the old system! Don't worry Mr Mountford! You'd be better off being a tree surgeon rather than working in this damaged education system.

(Stoke-On-Trent, 2017-05-11)

#383

Zero tolerance cannot go without some form of physical action

(Crawley, 2017-05-11)

#388

This teacher has been treated unfairly. No wonder teachers are leaving the profession.

(Wakefield, 2017-05-12)

#389

Common sense need to prevail, no one should lose a glittering career over this.

(Vevey, 2017-05-12)

#390

I went to this school when it was Stanfield Tech, discipline was much better when parents supported teacher's authority in school.

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-05-12)

#391

this teacher should be better represented
what do you want good teachers or unruly pupils?

(stanford le hope, 2017-05-12)

#396

A decent man and great teacher, schools need people like Matthew, hate the injustice of this

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-05-12)

#397

he should not be sacked

(Sutton Coldfield, 2017-05-12)
