We need to stop the removal of community and historical landmarks in London all for the sake of building unaffordable million pound flats and houses. We need to keep London's heart and soul alive!

(London, 2017-01-12)

#228

I know the family of the pub and have spent many nights there, to many memorys to lose and we don't need more flats or betting offices.

I use the China on a regular basis. It's a good pub that caters for me and my mates. We've been using the China for donkeys years. It shouldn't be allowed to fade away so that some faceless asset stripper can earn a few bob. Disgusting what's happening to this area it's loosing its soul because the councils got no sense of our heritage. Save the China

(London, 2017-01-13)

#261

#332

We have to save our heritage

(Orpington , 2017-01-17)

#335

My mothers family lived nearby before the war and I have known and frequented the China Hall for 50 years. Had no idea how long it has been there but it has always been one of few remaining landmarks and reminders of old Southwark.

(Horsham, 2017-01-17)

#340

We will lose another hub of our ever diminishing local community

(London, 2017-01-18)

#344

I'm sick of everything being sold to make way for houseing at a huge profit,at this rate there will so many people living in London who will struggle to find something to do as there is nothing left ??

(London, 2017-01-18)

#346

The china has been and will continue to be a part of Bermondsey's community!! Cannot allow one of the best and last pubs to close

(London, 2017-01-18)

#347

It was my local for 20 years when I lived on Lower Road . Don't let another place of local history be bulldozed for housing. All the local history is being distroyed

(Newark , 2017-01-18)

#349

Can't believe another pub in Bermondsey going its no longer funny I can think of at least 20 or more in the last 15 years it must stop it's part of our heritage and should not be allowed to happen

(London, 2017-01-18)

#351

traditions you can never bring back, to many of our pubs have been taken over ,communities broken down local meeting places been sold down the river to developers , it seems only money talks, people don't matter

(london, 2017-01-18)

#352

Pubs are an important part of the community and the older ones are part of an area's heritage

(Grays, 2017-01-18)

#354

#362

I'm signing because Leroy will have nowhere to go

(London, 2017-01-19)

#365

We need to preserve our last pubs for the community and future generations. Far to many flat being built :0(

(London, 2017-01-20)

#369

Pubs need to be saved as they are part of the historical fabric of Rotherhithe. Too many have been lost to the greed of development

(Cheshunt, 2017-01-21)

#370

Once public space becomes private, it's gone forever. There are almost no circumstances in which a pub cannot be viable; the fact that a PubCo with huge debts and hungry shareholders cannot squeeze enough profit from it and would rather cash in its residential real estate value is not the end of the story - there are many other business models and if the current owners don't want to try it, then the local community must be given a chance.

(Bexleyheath, 2017-01-21)

#372

Far too many pubs have been lost already

(Catford, 2017-01-21)

#376

The China hall pub needs to stay, it's a lovely Friendly pub and it's the only decent pub in the Rotherhithe Area that's welcomes all. It needs to stay!!

(London, 2017-01-22)

#378

This is a historical pub with a great local reputation and should not be forced to close to be turned into flats.

(Rotherhithe, 2017-01-22)

#380

It's a valuable part of the community, and I have been meeting my dad and brothers there for years so it is a big part of our lives.

(London, 2017-01-22)

#381

This is a friendly local pub that is good for the community and we don't have many left at all.

(London, 2017-01-22)

#383

The China Hall must be protected. It's a proper community pub serving good real ale. I live nearby and have seen many local pubs closed due to creeping gentrification. Southwark Council should be defending the community by giving ACV status to the China Hall and all of the pubs in the borough.

(London, 2017-01-22)

#386

Wonderful pub for the community and one of the best in bermondsey. Great atmosphere and a great asset to our community.

(london, 2017-01-22)

#388

This is apart of our local community and it's unfair that the occupants lose everything through greedy property development.

(London, 2017-01-22)

#389

once a pub was a part of the community now it's something a developer can make a load of money from then move on to the next one.. it's got to stop so lets make it stop with the china hall...

(LONDON, 2017-01-22)

#390

It's a nice friendly family pub, the family who run the China Hall are Absolutely a lovely family, x

(London, 2017-01-22)

#391

(Bermonsey , 2017-01-22)

#392

Too many local pubs have closed and had blocks of flats built

(LONDON, 2017-01-22)

#394

We can't afford to lose any more pubs

(London , 2017-01-22)

#395

I spent many a night in the China with all the family what a great pub cousin even had his wedding reception there

(Rochester, 2017-01-23)

#397

Pubs are still central to the communities they serve. Living in an overpriced, tiny bedsit or a shared room and want to meet some friends for a chat? No problem, just do what Londoners have been doing for centuries: invite them down the pub.

(London, 2017-01-23)

#398

Sounds like a good pub.

(Leeds, 2017-01-23)

#399

This, apart from being a fab pub,is part of the area, it's people & history. Please keep it open as it also serves as a social hub for those otherwise lonely & isolated.

(London, 2017-01-23)
