My son play for Orpington Town FC for U11 and it is only 15 minutes walk from us. Good community and is a local for a lot of us . We have a very friendly and good committee who volunteers they times and make sure the park is clean and we'll look after.

My son plays for the team, and we can only afford a short trip out due to the cost of living. He would be devastated if he had to leave.

I am a player of orpington town fc and sometimes cant even make my own training facilities as its such a further away location for me to travel after finishing work. I hope this can be resolved and have our ground back.

I am signing this because my son plays for u14s at otfc and has SEN he has found alot of comfort with hes team mates and the club its self and the home gound being close is easy for us to attend training and games since this has been moved it has caused stress for both me and my child as we have to get buses or cabs and that takes the fun out of it for all children not just my own . We have tired a few clubs in the past but none come close to what Orpington Town FC have and can offer the children within the community including my child.

Because I am a coach for Orpington town and also all 3 of my boys play for them so would be lovely to get back to our local park where Orpington town began

We need a place to train.
And we can have home games play her to support the rest of our players.

I am signing because my son really likes this team but we have been struggling to make trainings as they are really far from us and I do not drive so we will have to get two buses to Mottingham

i am a player and assistant coach for orpington town and it is a struggle to get there on time due to the bus schedules and random diversions, not to include traffic on some days, but this issue can be resolved and it will make our player’s and parent’s lives so much easier if we play where we started and not miles away.

My son suffers with anxiety and these extra journeys have a big impact on him also when the schools are back it will be impossible to get there on time which will elevate his anxiety but also means we won’t get home till gone 8 if traffic is good on a school night

I strongly believe that Orpington Town will grow into a massive asset to the local community and should be based in Orpington.

With the club available to all ages, makes and females, it can become a 'football club for the local family.'

Orpington Town FC is a great initiative for children and youngsters in Orpington. Their confidence and sense of belonging is increased without joining gangs or other dangerous activities. It gives them a sense of purpose and self esteem, provides role models.
Bromley Council should recognise and help such initiatives in borough.

There are few enough places and activities in the local area and as this is a local park it should be accessible for a local football team to iuse making it accessible for local children

I live in Orpington and have sen children, I am disabled and do not drive and was hoping to sign my son up to this club. Unfortunately I can't until this matter is resolved for the club, as we need training to be accessible and local to support our families needs.

Kerry Richards (Orpington, 2025-08-27)

I am a member of the club and because of poverest park not being available, it means I have to take longer journeys to attend training, which makes it hard to be there on time. Also the other venues are on the edge of Lewisham, so the members who wanted to train in Orpington are going further out than anticipated. Having poverest park as the main training facility for our teams will not only benefit me but many other members who want to play football without the worry of travelling far and how much extra cost it could bring.

Daniel Leplar (Westerham, 2025-08-27)

I feel the club deserves to play at poverest. The kids are suffering because of this problem.

I am supporting this petition as my Grandson plays for the Under 12s and I currently take him to training and hopefully games when the new season starts. Having a ground in Orpington would be beneficial as it is close to where we live. our current alternative is to travel to Mottingham which is about 30-40 minutes by car in Rush Hour traffic and is not sustainable. Playing in Orpington means we can get to our home ground in 5 minutes. Some of his fellow players currently cannot get to training and that will impact their ability to field a team and the sustainability of their position in the league and ultimately the club. Please support Orpington Town to get their home ground back in Orpington. The town they represent!

My nephew plays for Orpington Town. It's very difficult for the kids to get to Mottingham.
There's plenty of options for these kids to keep their training and matches in their home town.

As stated in the petition, over 200 hundred young people have joined Orpington town football club. This is 200 young people who have now invested in a passion in their local area and are now less likely to get their selves involved a more negative activities. The fact that the training ground has now been moved out of Orpington to Mottingham will discourage some of these young people to carry on in their passion. This could be because their parents are unable to get them to the new training ground and also from Orpington to the new training ground it is two buses which parents who do not drive may not want their children to take during the darker evenings to come.

Katie Parsons (Orpington, 2025-08-28)

I believe these children should have the right to play on their home field, not miles away in Mottingham, especially when the reasons for not having access as so obviously administrative.

Richard Coello (Orpington, 2025-08-28)

I believe that a grassroots club should be helped to regain its training ground because it is not right to leave so many kids and adults without a facility. The council should take immediate action to assist Orpington Town FC in reclaiming this important resource.

Orpington Town FC is a community football club that provides opportunities for local people of all ages to participate in grassroots sport, promoting health, wellbeing, and social cohesion. Having the club based outside Orpington undermines its identity, limits accessibility for local supporters, and reduces the positive economic and social impact it could bring to the town. By helping the club secure a permanent home back in Orpington, the MP would be championing local pride, encouraging youth engagement, reducing anti-social behaviour by offering positive outlets, and strengthening the town’s sense of community. Supporting this move is an investment in Orpington’s people, its economy, and its future.

I am not agreeable to this at all but it is thr only way to comment.

Has anyone stopped to ask the DSM at Poverest what happened?? Or do you all act on one untrue side of a story and take it as gospel? Get the truth then decide hey!!
