Close Bernard Isaacs Primary School Until Manqoba’s Mother Gets the Truth.

We are calling for the temporary closure of Bernard Isaacs Primary School in Coronationville, Johannesburg following the tragic and deeply disturbing death of 5-year-old Grade R learner, Manqoba Mnisi.

Reports from the family and community indicate that Manqoba was allegedly left alone in a classroom, where he tried to escape through a window, became trapped, and tragically suffocated. A passerby reportedly noticed him but it was too late. The school has allegedly shared a different version of events, raising serious concerns about honesty, supervision, and accountability.

Manqoba’s grieving mother is still searching for answers. The teacher involved has allegedly not come forward. No family should have to fight this hard for the truth about how their child died at school.

Schools are meant to be places of safety, care, and protection. What happened to Manqoba represents a devastating failure of that duty.

We demand:

An investigation into Manqoba Mnisi’s death.
Full transparency from the school and education authorities.
The temporary closure of the school until his mother receives clear answers.
Accountability for anyone found responsible.
Stronger child safety and supervision policies in schools.

We stand with Manqoba’s family in their fight for justice and to make sure no other child is ever failed like this again.

Justice for Manqoba. Protect our children.
