I strongly object to this application for the reasons stated in the petition

Helen Marshall (Warwick, 2025-07-15)

#2

I don’t want our green rural areas of natural beauty being needlessly dug up so that showman’s caravans can be there instead of nature.

K Baldwin (Warwick, 2025-07-15)

#3

I object to this application as did the last time they applied.

I Baldwin (Warwick, 2025-07-15)

#6

I’m signing because should this excessive and unacceptable development be permitted it would cause irreversible harm to the local area including: environmental impact, excessive traffic, flash flooding, cause village division and destroy character of the countryside.

Marcelle Cater (Warwick, 2025-07-16)

#10

I fully object to this application as did the last time they applied.

Claire Higgs (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-18)

#11

I object strongly to this proposed development

There is no adequate reason why the location for this site is fitting. The land badly floods in winter. The road network leading to it is not sufficient for its intended use. The public footpath it will affect is used constantly by local residents. The traveling showman usually returns to base at night with heavy and noisy lorry’s, this will badly disturb the two villages of Pillerton Priors and Pillerton Hersey. The planning of this site has already been rejected once due to not being fit for purpose of which it still is.

Emmanuel Wain (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-20)

#30

There is no need for 1 and no want for 1

shaun smith (Ilmington, 2025-07-20)

#34

I object to this application because it would destroy the key features of this Special Landscape Area, impose unacceptable development and present unacceptable and dangerous highways considerations not just in P/Hersey but also in neighbouring villages.

Fiona Young (Pillerton Hersey, 2025-07-20)

#46

I am disgusted that this application has been put forward again!! This is on a country lane in an area of outstanding beauty, it must be protected .

Ann Hammond (Warwickshire, 2025-07-20)

#47

I live in Pillerton Priors and it will cause untold issues to the environment. Not only that but more large vehicles on the lanes is unacceptable and dangerous.

Karen Seel (Warwick, 2025-07-20)

#52

I am signing this because the site is completely unsuitable for large lorries and such large numbers of additional traffic. It is a small country lane which serves traffic to other local villages.

Marian Burton (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-20)

#54

Very unlikely to be travelling show people, more likely caravan dwelling ne're do Wells.

Richard Greenaway (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-20)

#61

This site is green and is of natural and outstanding beauty!!!
This must not go ahead!!

Angela Singleton (Stratford upon Avon, 2025-07-20)

#67

Agree with the objection

Sean Edmunds (Stratford-upon-avon, 2025-07-20)

This application is completely unsuitable in this location and is overwhelmingly opposed by the population of the two villages that it affects. To reject that comprehensive consensus would be to discard fundamental democratic principles and challenges the point of a local council, whose principle job is to represent us, the local population, not outside interests.

The proposed location is a pure greenfield location, probably the worst possible location for this type of development. A normal planning application for residences or industrial use would automatically be rejected. The proposed development would ruin a rural area that sits in a designated Special Landscape Area.

The proposition envisages large articulated lorries - some of the tallest and longest allowed on UK roads – exiting and entering the site on a winding rural road and on nearby public roads/junctions would endanger other vehicles and pedestrians.

The council is urged to have regard for the people it represents and rejects this application.

#70

I strongly object to this proposal due
Lack of infrastructure
Disruption and heavy traffic to Pillerton Hersey,Pillerton Priors and Ettington
Possible light pollution as I assume additional lighting will be required
The proposed site is on green belt land which should be preserved as this also will border on a conservation area in Pillerton Hersey

Joy Morris (Pillerton Hersey, 2025-07-20)

#92

This application has been adapted slightly from its original refused state but the same objections still apply - it is on green belt land within a SDA which regularly floods. any development on the field will increase the flooding downstream of the sight in the village which is already designated Flood Risk 3. The extra traffic including hgv's and trailers is totally unsuitable for the country road network. It is a totally unsuitable development for the location which cannot provide the infrastructure to support it.

Berni Newcombe (Pillerton Hersey, 2025-07-21)

Pillerton Priors & Pillerton Hersey are villages of outstanding beauty with fields in between that characterise this delicate Cotswold agricultural community. Allowing concrete hardstandings in such an area would devastate not only the natural area but also bring volumes of heavy traffic to a country lane. This also an area that forms part of the natural environment for the UK toad population.

Paul Hopgood (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-21)

The proposed site is pastureland which is situated in an attractive rural landscape. The proposed site location is of environmental and historical importance. It is Feldon Parkland which is a designated special landscape area. Pillerton Hersey is situated in a conservation area. The proposed site acts as a natural soak away and the large area of proposed hard standing will undoubtably create excessive run-off down towards Pillerton Hersey, which is a flood zone 3 high risk area. The proposed entrance is situated on a blind bend and the roads around Pillerton Hersey have narrow sharp blind bends which are not conducive to long wheelbase heavy goods vehicles. The land should remain with its intended purpose and should not be considered for any change of usage. It should be preserved for its historical importance. An industrial and commercial development should not be placed in this rural setting.

Roseanne Sanders (Warwick, 2025-07-21)

#105

On the grounds that the proposed development is inappropriate for its rural greenfield location, which lacks essential infrastructure and services. The site lies between two villages already under pressure, with poor access to amenities and limited public transport, making the proposal unsustainable.

The increased traffic, including large show vehicles, poses significant highway safety concerns along narrow roads lacking footpaths. This will exacerbate existing traffic issues in nearby villages and key junctions.

Environmentally, the proposal threatens a designated Special Landscape Area and historic ridge and furrow land. It introduces hard standing, permanent structures, and light/noise pollution that would impact the landscape character, ecology, and local wildlife.

There are serious concerns about flood risk, drainage and sewage capacity, especially downstream in Hersey where flooding is already a problem. Pollution from site operations could harm local watercourses.

The consultation period has been too brief for a proper assessment. A site visit and further consideration of more appropriate brownfield alternatives are essential.

Catherine Dawson (Southam, 2025-07-22)

#107

I live in the village, and do not feel that this is an acceptable use of the land.

Laura Bennett-poynter (Warwickshire, 2025-07-22)

#109

We do not want further loss of our beautiful countryside.

Susan Archer (Pillerton Hersey, 2025-07-22)

#111

I'm signing because I fully object to this totally unsuitable planning application, on numerous grounds, which I will communicate formally via the planning portal.

Kathryn Dalgleish (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-22)

#117

“Travelling people” by definition do not need a permanent site.

Roger Stone (Over Norton, 2025-07-22)

#118

More suitable locations than beautiful green fields between two picturesque and peaceful villages

Sophie Mcsweeney (Tysoe, 2025-07-22)

#124

I live in Pillerton Priors and the reasons why this application should be refused are the same as they were for the last application. Nothing has changed and this area doesn't need any more pressures putting on the local services.

Robert Mears (Warwick, 2025-07-23)

#127

This proposed development is totally inappropriate for the site between Hersey and Priors.

Margaret Rose (Pillerton Hersey, 2025-07-24)

#133

I’m signing this petition because I don’t want the natural land contaminated with rubbish debris and people who won’t care for the environment and surrounding areas

Kristen Cavin (Moreton Morrell, 2025-07-25)

#149

There are no street lights, and Stratford Upon Avon is becoming a nightmare to drive to any destination, whether it to the M40 or to the local Tesco, traffic is terrible most times of day.

Jane Matthews (Stratford Upon Avon, 2025-07-28)

#150

The proposed development is inappropriate and the present infrastructure is totally unsuitable.

PAUL TWYNEHAM (WARWICK, 2025-07-28)

#154

I live at Coverwell farm

Nia Scrimshire (Warwickshire, 2025-07-28)

#156

Totally inappropriate agricultural green land with no suitable Infrastructure.

Anthony Page (Stratford on Avon, 2025-07-28)

#160

This application is wholly inappropriate in this rural location, with access restricted via narrow country lanes.
There are far more suitable brownfield sites available with all necessary servicing available.

Malcolm Robertson (Oxhill, Warwick, 2025-07-28)

#167

Surely enough is enough. Leave the beautiful land alone. So much surrounding areas are being ruined. Why do we need more of this for travelling showpersons

Lorraine Hunt (Warwickshire, 2025-07-29)

#169

Travellers are spongers, anti social, dirty and make no contribution to local communities or society in general. They are good at causing trouble and contaminating the countryside.

Roger Wood (Moreton in Marsh, 2025-07-29)

#178

The impact on the vilages by having a semi industrial stoarge facility in the middle of the country side is not complaint with planning policy and should be refused.

Lawrence Littell (Warwick, 2025-07-29)

#179

I am signing as long term resident and user of the road passing the application site. It is simply inappropriate and unworkable to consider this a suitable location for this type of application.

Andrew Burton (Pillerton Priors, 2025-07-29)

#194

I fully support the concerns outlined in the letter, especially with the responsibility of local councils to implement the National Government ‘Local Nature Recovery Strategy’. In addition, Warwickshire County Council have made us aware of the potential for 50% wetter winters by 2050 due to Climate Change. Flood prevention now is a critical measure that needs to be implemented now.

Steve Currie (Stratford upon Avn, 2025-08-03)

#197

I’m signing because I want to preserve the rural setting of Pillerton Hersey and Pillerton Priors and also to protect the natural habitat of mammals , reptiles and birds
