PETITION AGAINST CHAMFUTI STREET SPEEDSTERS

Dear Neighbour in Chamfuti Street,

Over a period of time, probably the last 6 - 9 months, we have noticed a disturbing rise in motorists from our area using Chamfuti street as the main access to their homes, and a concurrent increase in the speeds people drive at.

The question then becomes, do we want to wait until a child, or a pet is either badly injured or killed due to the reckless and dangerous driving habits of some people?

We have, over a long period of time, tried to appeal to motorists to slow down when we see them speeding - this has had little to no effect.              

Thus we would like to petition the JRA to install speed bumps in Chamfuti street, to force people to slow down.
