New Look Lymedale coronavirus staff protection

On Monday, the 23rd of March 2020 Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on coronavirus. He said:

" From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction - you must stay at home.

Because the critical thing we must do is stop the disease spreading between households.

That is why people will only be allowed to leave their home for the following very limited purposes:

  • shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
  • one form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household;
  • any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and
  • travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.

That’s all - these are the only reasons you should leave your home."

Where people comply with the rules and do not visit their friends or relatives ( therefore stop spreading the disease between households), stick to the rules regarding exercise or shopping for necessities they are asked to perform non-critical roles at their workplace.

New Look Lymedale is a clothing distribution centre supplying non-essential goods and cannot be deemed as key working; this online trading is a bending of the lockdown regulations for the sake of profit and needs to stop. New look needs to take responsibility regarding their obligation to the duty of care of their employees and in turn local community, therefore, it should be closed immediately to help the nation stop the disease spreading to protect NHS and save lives.
