დღეისათვის საქართველოში არსებული „ბუნების ძეგლების“ („ბუნების კონსერვაციის საერთაშორისო კავშირის“ – IUCN-ის მიერ დადგენილი დაცული ტერიტორიების III კატეგორია) აბსოლუტური უმრავლესობა (90 %-ზე მეტს) არ აქვს მინიჭებული სათანადო იურიდიული სტატუსი. ამის გამო გახშირებულია მათი ხელყოფის ფაქტები, აღნიშნულის ნათელი დადასტურებაა 2013 წლის მაისში „ბიდარის ტრავერტინის“ მნიშვნელოვანი დაზიანების ფაქტი, ასევე 2005 წელს თრუსოს ხეობის ტრავერტინების დაზიანება და სხვა.
ნათქვამიდან გამომდინარე მოვითხოვთ საქართველოს გარემოს დაცვის სამინისტრომ უმოკლეს ვადაში საქართველოს პარლამენტს დასამტკიცებლად წარუდგინოს „საქართველოს ბუნების ძეგლების“ შესახებ კანონის პროექტი, ხოლო საქართველოს საკანონმდებლო ორგანომ უმოკლეს ვადებში მოახდინოს მისი დამტკიცება, რათა შენარჩუნებულ იქნას საქართველოს უნიკალური და ზოგადსაკაცობრიო მნიშნელობის ბუნებრივი მემკვიდრეობის მნიშვნელოვანი ნაწილი !
აქვე გაცნობებთ, რომ ზემოხსენებული კანონპროექტი საქართველოს დაცული ტერიტორიების სააგენტოს მიერ მომზადებულ იქნა ჯერ კიდევ 2009 წელს, მაგრამ არ მომხდარა მისი წარდგენა საქართველოს პარლამენტისათვის დასამტკიცებლად. ნათქვამიდან გამომდინარე გამარტივებული იქნება მისი დამუშავებისა და პარლამეტისათვის წარდგენის პროცესი. იგი ძირითადად მხოლოდ დღეისათვის არსებული მონაცემებზე დაყრდნობით კანონპროექტში მოცემული „ბუნების ძეგლების“ ჩამონათვალის შევსებას მოითხოვს.
