Gabbro Park possible 60 year lease of properties surrounding the park
The residents of ward 47 Tshwane are objecting to the planned 60 lease of the properties surrounding Gabbro Park in Elarduspark
1. Properties 1703 and 1693 are NOT owned by City of Tshwane but are in fact privately owned, which means that this public participation is fataly flawed in its scope.
2. The proposed properties 1694, 1701, 1702 currently form part of the park and removing them from the park space will reduce the park to a very small portion.
3. The park is used by nearby schools and residents of Elarduspark for recreation and green spaces are growing more rare all around the city. City of Tshwane should not disregard mental and physical health of residents just for the sake of profit
4. Infrastructure like sewers, storm water, electricity and water in ward 47 is already under pressure and development here will add to the pressure on these critically overburdened systems.
5. Potential development of these properties could fundamentally change the character and atmosphere of the area.
6. Road infrastructure next to and in the surrounding area is already critically overburdened and added pressure will only lead to severe decline of the roads and result in added traffic blockages in peak times.
We as residents object stongly against the plans of the City of Tshwane to lease these properties on a 60 year lease for development, or any other similar plans in the future
