Jo Shuter must never return to King Solomon High School!

She is killing the Kehila department. This is what you dont see. Now with IJPS on KS grounds the aim was for the kids to go to KS.

The new generation of Jewsih people are now starting to populate IJPS again.

When I was the head of the Cheder at my synagogue, we went through a dry patch as the kids were been bar/bat mitzvahed.

Now, a year and a half of a dry patch we have a new cheder, with kids from 6 months to 9 years.

Our Shul was very worried that it wouldnt have a future department of education, but we knew that a new generation was starting and now the cheder is full of new kids that are thriving. Wouldn't that apply for IJPS/Clore and KS?

I knew what was going on, and I knew as well that KS was taking in as many Jewish kids as possible, so there was hope.

Ok #35 so from now on we will blame the parents for the children's bad behaviour due to a bad example at home? I know my kids behave very differently at school than they do at home and I'm strict with them at home. So parents will have to attend parenting courses to improve the behaviour at KS because even under shuters rule it's still atrocious

#39 she is far from a super head with her track record and let's not kid these amazing teachers she was hiring were the ones from her old school which were just as corrupt and bent as she was is that what you want KS to turn into? As for JS I went to a Jewish school my whole life and both JS and Hebrew were compulsory if you didn't want to do them you would have to go to a non Jewish school... Well as far as I know KS is a Jewish school or do you disagree with that too?

If you think things were bad before, watch will happen now the old regime is back in charge. Perhaps we should remember that without the non Jewish kids there would no longer be any local option of a Jewish school, it would have closed through lack of numbers.

I am serious about this, the only way we can change what we are complaining about i by getting on the board, I am more than happy to do it, if I have support and other people who are willing to change it then we will be able to do good things.

#64, I am going to look into how to get on the board as well, or maybe even start teaching at KS if Shuter leaves. I think the more parents with common sense on the board we have the better it will be for the future of the school and kids.

According to data in the Times, more free schools set up by parent, teacher or community groups have achieved good Ofsted ratings than those established by existing academy chains or that converted from independent schools…
Figures from the New Schools Network show new starters, founded from scratch by groups with no previous experience of managing schools, have been awarded more good and outstanding reports than “establishment” schools. Schools set up by parents have done particularly well, while several of those converting from independent schools have been found to require improvement.

Experts suggested that the ‘new entrant’ types of schools were more likely to adopt an innovative approach, while others said their success may be down to middle-class parents skewing their intake. The breakdown of Ofsted reports will be given to the Commons’ education select committee tomorrow at a special session on free schools…

Of the new entrant schools, more than three-fifths were rated good, and nearly three-quarters were good or outstanding. Of the establishment schools, 45 per cent were found to be good, and 65 per cent good or outstanding. While more of the establishment schools received outstanding ratings (one in five), they were also more likely to be found to require improvement – 30 per cent compared with 15 per cent of the new entrants. However, fewer of them were rated inadequate.

Poor schools set up by community, faith or parent groups included Al-Madinah School in Derby, which was branded “dysfunctional” by Ofsted, and Kings Science Academy in Bradford. But independent schools have not fared well under the free school system. While two of those that converted from fee-charging to free schools were rated good, three were found to require improvement. And of the three free schools established and sponsored by independent schools, one was rated good, and two were said to require improvement.

Some independent schools have blamed their poor ratings on the requirement to provide new and different data under the state system…

#57 without our voluntary contributions there would be no Jewish local school it has nothing to do with the borough that is the private part of the school that's why we pay to find the JS department and Ivrit department. There is no old regime back in place by the way as they have left in September but pg when we get a new head the school will be a different place!

Who's up for opening a new Jewish high school in this area? If we can get the finance to back us I would happily run it as I have 15 years experience in the education system and have a number of people who would happily teach for us who are outstanding teachers...

I have experience, been teaching in schools since I was 17 and  at the Sorbonne University for the last 5 years.I have a PGCE, a BA in translation and Interpretation and several certificates from many courses I attended, I was head of my cheder's shul for 5 years and I speak fluent French, Portuguese, good knowledge of Spanish and some Hebrew. I was a bilingual school assistant for Westminster for over 5 years. English teacher in Brazil for 8 yrs. I run 7 different courses in the Master where I lecture. I work as an interpreter and translator for the Home Office, Camden and Haringey. I have worked as a team administrator for 12 years. I would love to help.

As I understand it the Police are still considering action against Ms Shuter.  The only legal tribunal that has considered her case is the Conduct Panel, which today announced her ban from teaching. The previous hearing you mention was conducted by the governing body of QK and, despite finding her guilty of gross misconduct,  bizarrely tried to reinstate her.
