It is my opinion that the government should make funds available to purchase the flooded properties to which owners do not wish to return. So much of this devastation could have been avoided if the rivers had been managed properly and if the troops had been deployed much sooner. I certainly would not wish to inhabit a house whose floor and walls had been swamped in bacteria and sewerage. How could they be sure it would ever be really clean again. An Englishman's home is his castle and often his life's work. These people's lives have been put on hold and potentially ruined.

The amount given, often to undeserving countries
has become quite ludicrous. It should be spent to
aid more worthwhile projects such as flood relief.

I think this countries flood victims should get priority over anyone else, why should this country give away billions of pounds when we are up to our ears in debt?.

To little to late for many poor people who have lost their homes. The UK is all to ready to send aid aboard its about time we did more for our own people and maintain these vital flood defences. Cuts Cuts adn more Cuts is the government policy!!!

where has all the money gone that used to be used to dredge the rivers and maitain the sea defences.
Somebody who is not affected by this appalling non-maintenance of our land and shores has neglected our country in favour of looking good to other country's who rearly do not need our charity to build nuclear power stations.
