Odia Ashmita Divas (Kartik Purnima)

The origins of this festival descend from an ancient maritime tradition of merchant trade and voyages across the ocean to different regions of Asia, which was well developed in this region known in ancient times as Kalinga. This ancient maritime tradition is preserved through this festival which celebrates the voyages of their ancestors, to Southeast Asian countries, which include mainly present-day Bali, Java, Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia and all the way to Champa region in Vietnam. Local traditions ascribe the origins of the ritual tradition to around the 3rd century BC as Kalinga was a well-known powerful maritime power and with strong trading links across the oceans, especially during the reign of Maurya empire whose rulers coveted the region for its influence.

But Odia now lost his glory and many cases failed to establish the rule, so request that all Sign this petition to celebrate Odia Ashmita Divas on this auspicious day.

ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅସ୍ମିତା ସାଧବ ପୁଅ ର ବଣିଜକୁ ବୁଝାଏ। ସଭ୍ୟତା ଯେତେବେଳେ ଗଢୁଥିଲା, ଲୋକେ ସେତେବେଳେ କେବଳ ନିଜର ଗୁଜୁରାଣ ମେଣ୍ଟାଇ ଆରାମରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ନେଉଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ସେ ସମୟରେ ଆମର ଓଡ଼ିଆ ପୁଅ ସାତ ନଇ ତେର ସମୁଦ୍ର ପାର ହୋଇ ବିଶ୍ୱକୁ ବଣିଜ ଶିଖାଇଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ଓଡିଶାର ଧନରତ୍ନ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିଥିଲେ।

ଆଜି ବି ଓଡ଼ିଆ ବିଶ୍ୱରେ ସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନରେ, ସବୁ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଉତ୍କର୍ଷ ପ୍ରତିପାଦନ କରିଛି। କିନ୍ତୁ କିଛି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବିଶେଷକରି ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ଓ ଭାରତବର୍ଷରେ ଓଡ଼ିଆମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ୱର କ୍ଷୀଣ ହେଇଯାଉଛି। ଓଡ଼ିଆ କ'ଣ ତାର ପୂର୍ବ ଗୌରବ ଭୂଲିଗଲାଣି ନା ଆଉ ତା'ର ହୃତଗୌରବ ଫେରିପାରିବନି!

ବୋଇତ ବଦାଣ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅସ୍ମିତାର ପରିଚୟ, ସେଇ ଅସ୍ମିତାକୁ ଉଜ୍ଜୀବିତ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମେ କାର୍ତିକ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିମା ଦିନ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅସ୍ମିତା ଦିବସ ଭାବରେ ପାଳନ କରିବାକୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଓଡ଼ିଆମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିବେଦନ। ରାଜ୍ୟସରକାରଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆମେ ଚିଠି ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରୁଛୁ। ଏହା ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଭଲ ଲାଗିବ ଏବଂ ଆମେ ସମସ୍ତେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ଜାଗାରେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇ ପାଳନ କରିବା। ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସହଯୋଗ ଅପେକ୍ଷାରେ। ଯଦି ଆପଣ ଏକମତ ଦୟାକରି ଏହାକୁ ଦସ୍ତଖତ କରନ୍ତୁ ଓ ଆଗକୁ ବଢାନ୍ତୁ।
