Mt Wellington Licensing Trust Notice to Convert to Community Trust
2025-07-26 02:08:14
Thank you for signing the petition to try and save our community assets. Unfortunately we were unable to stop the Licensing Trustees from selling the community assets.
On Tuesday July 22 2025, the Mt Wellington Licensing Trust announced they had passed a resolution to convert to a Community Trust.
https://www.mwlt.org.nz/news/public-notice-of-resolution
Given that the Trustees had no public meeting in 10 months, choosing to have non notified closed meetings, have not advised the finanical position of the licensing trust since selling all the community's assets, and have taken 1 year to provide previous meeting minutes. This is the only opportunity for this community to have a public meeting where the conversion resolution can be discussed and voted on by the community.
To have this meeting a minimum of 50 electors within the Mount Wellington Licinsing Trust area must email the Trust Board for a meeting
Below is a suggested template for your email or letter
I, (your name) as a registered elector, request under Section 353 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, that the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust Trustees hold a public meeting in regards to the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust Trustee notice of the passing a resolution to convert from a Licensing Trust to a Community Trust under Section 351 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Confirmation of right to vote for the Licensing Trust my address is:
Please can you extend your support again, asking for this meeting and attending the public meeting

This meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to ask questions regarding the sale, so I hope that you can attend this meeting and bring along a friend. See you there
