Support the proposed 12-space RV park in Pierce County, Georgia

J James Flowers · US

A Better Future for Pierce County,

Good evening, everyone,

First, I want to thank each of you for taking the time to listen and for caring about the future of our community. We all want the same basic things for Pierce County: a safe place to raise our families, a strong local economy, good opportunities for our residents, and a community we can be proud to call home.

Tonight, I am asking you to consider supporting a proposed, small-scale RV park right here in Pierce County. This proposal is not about bringing a massive development into our community or changing the character of the place we love. It is about creating an opportunity for responsible growth while protecting the peace, privacy, and values that make Pierce County special.

This proposed RV park would have only 12 spaces. That is an important detail. We are talking about a small, controlled operation, not a large campground with hundreds of RVs coming and going. With a limited number of spaces, reasonable operating rules, and proper oversight, the park can be managed in a way that minimizes its impact on surrounding residents and our local roads.

Let's talk about what this opportunity could mean for Pierce County.

Every visitor who stays in our community has the potential to spend money here. They may purchase groceries, fill up their gas tanks, eat at local restaurants, shop at local businesses, or visit other attractions in the surrounding area. That money helps support our small businesses, keeps dollars circulating locally, and contributes to the economic vitality of our county.

A well-managed RV park can also create additional tax revenue through applicable property taxes, sales taxes, and other taxes or fees, depending on the ownership structure and local and state tax rules. That revenue can help support the public services and infrastructure our community depends on. Rather than viewing this proposal only as a change to a piece of property, we should consider its potential to become a small contributor to our local economy.

And let's be clear: economic development does not have to mean sacrificing our quality of life.

The proposed park can operate under clear rules designed to protect neighboring properties and maintain a clean, orderly environment. Those rules can address noise, trash disposal, parking, outdoor lighting, occupancy, and the upkeep of the property. Regular inspections and consistent maintenance can help ensure that the park remains attractive, sanitary, and respectful of the people who live nearby.

We want a property that is well maintained, not neglected. We want responsible guests, not unnecessary disturbances. We want an operation that respects the community, follows applicable laws and regulations, and takes its responsibilities seriously.

Traffic is another understandable concern, and it deserves an honest answer. With only 12 RV spaces, the proposed park would have a defined and limited capacity. It would not generate the same volume of traffic as a large campground or major commercial development. While some additional vehicle trips are possible, the small number of spaces allows us to plan for access, parking, and traffic management on a manageable scale.

We should evaluate the entrance, road conditions, and any applicable permitting requirements to make sure the location is suitable. We should also establish reasonable operating standards to help prevent parking on neighboring properties, unsafe access, or unnecessary disruption.

Our goal should be to address concerns before they become problems.

I also believe that being a good neighbor must be part of the foundation of this project. That means maintaining the grounds, keeping the property clean, responding to legitimate complaints, and communicating openly with nearby residents. A successful business should not simply operate in a community; it should demonstrate respect for that community.

No development should receive support simply because it promises economic benefits. It should earn that support by showing that it can operate responsibly, comply with local requirements, and coexist with the people who live around it. That is exactly the standard we should expect here.

Supporting this petition is an opportunity to support responsible, small-scale economic development in Pierce County. It is an opportunity to consider additional local spending, potential tax revenue, and a carefully limited business that can contribute to our community without introducing the scale of traffic and activity associated with a much larger development.

We cannot expect our community to grow stronger if we automatically turn away every reasonable opportunity for progress. At the same time, progress must be thoughtful, measured, and respectful of our residents. We can protect what makes Pierce County special while still considering new opportunities that may benefit us all.

So tonight, I am asking you to stand with us, sign this petition, and voice your support for the proposed 12-space RV park, subject to appropriate approvals and responsible operating standards.Your support would also mean the world to us at the meeting for the planning board in Pierce county on Tuesday November 10, 2026. 8:30am.

Let's work toward a solution that respects our neighbors, protects our community, supports our local businesses, and creates an opportunity for Pierce County to benefit from responsible investment.

We do not have to choose between preserving our community and allowing it to move forward. With careful planning, proper management, and a commitment to being good neighbors, we can work toward both.

Thank you for your time, your consideration, and your support for the future of Pierce County, Georgia.
