The Undersigned Lambeth Residents Using 2011 Localism Act Want Lambeth’s Current Cabinet Dissolved So We Can Rescind all Lambeth LTNs

Comments

#403

Flawed logic of this Ltn. We now face overcrowded high street with stationary cars causing more pollution than if moving through an area. What a silly, illogical decision this was based on decisions with no real thought of unintended consequences.

Bartholomew Nash (Streatham, 2023-10-31)

#404

Constant stress to get and from work and in collecting my children from 2 different schools. Constant traffic

Tara Okeefe (London , 2023-10-31)

#411

Just stress added.

Annabel New (London, 2023-10-31)

#412

I am directly affected and have already shared as part of the consultation that this is not a measure residents want.

Tamsin Tierney (London , 2023-11-01)

#414

I would like to get the LTN removed as possible. It causes a horrendous amount of stress and anxiety also spending more money on petrol and idling in traffic. My journey from oakdale road towards Tooting is took 30 min longer to go in the streatham high street because I can’t drive through leigham court road and Madeira road. My post code is SW16 2HW

Vivien Banfi (Streatham , 2023-11-02)

#425

My family has been really adversely affected by this change. My kids work in various places in London and it’s added an additional 40 minutes each way to their commute. It’s impacted buses and driving the queues are shocking. The change is ineffective and troublesome. It’s turned leigham court road and streatham common road into a nightmare. I’m very unhappy

Saiqa Ali (London, 2023-11-04)

#426

I don’t want LTN in STREATHAM
I have no confidence in the Councillors as they have no idea what the Residents wants or needs Are

Judy Best (STREATHAM, 2023-11-04)

#428

Increased pollution and congestion

Ralph Baptista (London, 2023-11-04)

#430

The Streatham High road is a very congested road already due to the narrow stretch between the Odeon and Tesco and particularly the nightmarish problems at St Leonard's junction.
Streatham High road is also a major route to Gatwick Airport, Eurotunnel and south coast ports.
LTNs will direct more traffic into the High Road affecting also buses and other public transports.
Therefore I urge Lambeth to remove these LTNs

Kim Truong (London, 2023-11-04)

#434

I live in Lambeth and have been very affected by the LTNs both as a driver and as a pedestrian, I have small children who also are exposed to a horrendous amount of pollution and excess amounts of traffic problems and dangers

Kauser Hussain (London, 2023-11-04)

#435

I object to forcing more traffic onto main road, making it go slower and increasing fumes on main road. This impacts public transport users, elderly, local residents and emergency services too.

Maya Matthews (Streatham, 2023-11-04)

#438

LTNs are being imposed. The consultation exercise was a sham: most residents didn’t want LTNs. Pollution and journey times have increased with children and the elderly most affected. Lambeth councillors refuse to engage with residents.

Mary Bell (Lambeth, London, 2023-11-04)

#439

I completely disagree with the LTN’s in Streatham Hill and Streatham Wells Area SW16 and SW2 Areas

David Ramcharran (London, 2023-11-04)

#440

I'm a driver and it's been impossible to get around with all the restrictions and there has been traffic jams all week. A 15 min journey took nearly a hour. Therefore causing more pollutoon

Marie-hannah Wilson (London, 2023-11-04)

#444

This LTN has caused total chaos daily in my local area leading to illogical restrictions causing long queues, everyone driving extra miles to get to their house - more pollution - no justification at all except council receive more funds from fines

Gill O’Toole (London , 2023-11-04)

#446

I have business in streatham and I am loosing so much customers since this no sense ltn started.
Also I have children and I had to cancel all the after school clubs because we are not able to get there in time.

Sandra Gomes (London, 2023-11-04)

#448

Am signing because it the most silly thing ever.

Your creating more traffic
Your creating more pollution
Your creating more driving time, doesn't make sense

We pay road tax to drive on the road.
So we should be allow to drive through road.

I drive to tulse hill station in the morning, I park up and take the train.
From barcombe AVE the drive take me 2min max just to go and park at palace road.

Now it's take me 10-15min to drive all the way round causing my drive time more pollution and more petrol use
So how does this make any sense.

simon Aurokium (Streatham Hill , 2023-11-04)

#449

It is just moving pollution around and in increasing emissions in areas as it hampers the free movement of vehicles.

Jane Pocock (Streatham , 2023-11-04)

#450

LTNs are utterly ridiculous they cause people to drive further!

Rachael Kitts (London, 2023-11-04)

#451

I live in SW16 1UU traffic has got a lot worse on the roads around me due to the LTN in Streatham Wells. Traffic was backed up all along Becmead Ave yesterday right down to Garrards Road, never seen it like that before. If I drive to my mother in laws who is 89 it takes double the time, how is that reducing pollution?

Michelle Sutherland (London, 2023-11-04)

#455

Sine LTN came into force in Streatham we have more traffic, pollution, local businesses are losing money, we can get deliveries and ubers, children are coming late to school due buses being stuck in traffic and the get detention.

Patricia Camarero (London, 2023-11-04)

#460

The LTN has completely ruined my drive to and from work, and I only work in Balham!

Leigh Munday (Streatham, 2023-11-04)

#462

I'm signing because this scheme has caused utter chaos in the area as well as extra pollution with the added time it takes to 'go around' the zone!

Terrance O'Toole (London, 2023-11-04)

#464

The LTNs are unfair

Josephine Foster (London , 2023-11-04)

#475

LTN has caused us so much misery, journey times are 50% longer, it’s creating more congestion, more fumes, buses can’t move for miles, less safe for children and cyclists, impacting local businesses - makes no sense. Remove these immediately

Haaris Nizam (London, 2023-11-04)

#476

I think from my knowledge of medicine and as an asthmatic of longstanding that filtering all the traffic past schools and fhomes where less financially advantage people live is abhorrent

Elizabeth Jordan (London, 2023-11-04)

#477

SW9 9DJ
I’m signing because of the LTN’s
And my MP (Vauxhall Ward) is an abomination. Does not care one bit about her constituents.
They all need to be removed ASAP

Niki Nicola (London, 2023-11-04)

#478

Ltn's only benefits are money being screwed out of motorists, money going to council/government and to those who already have plenty. Cleaner air in that location- it's shifted to the roads that traffic is shifted to, and more space/safer feeling for kids and cyclists.
There are sooo many negatives, the list goes on. Even for the residents inside the Ltn's

Jackie Jones (London, 2023-11-04)

#480

I'm signing this because I was not consulted nor agreed nor voted for this ridiculous scheme that is making our lives a living nightmare and is causing more traffic jams and more pollution from the idling cars stuck in them! LTNs need to be scrapped!!!

Katerina Georgieva (London, 2023-11-04)

#482

I have lived in Lambeth my whole life and so have my parents and grandparents... We have NEVER EVER witness the absolute mayhem thats happening in Lambeth streets/roads as drivers in our entire lifes .. its absolutely nonsense and does nothing but cause Chaos and is absolutely causing danger to cyclists, drivers and pedestrians it doesn't make it safer at alllll.

A council should represent its people.

Joseph Mifsud (London, 2023-11-04)

#491

The Streatham Wells LTN is a disaster. The impact on surrounding roads is immense and easy to ignore by the protagonists of this nonsense. I’ve lost hundreds of hours- economically inactive and not with my family.

Simon Tarasiuk (London, 2023-11-04)

#492

It’s against neighbours rights also other alternative route is high street that consume more time and fuel hence more carbon pollution

Waqar Abbasi (Streatham , 2023-11-04)

#495

Lambeth Council failed in its duty to represent it’s residents.
Why bother consulting with the community and then completely disregard the feedback? I don’t need to tell you, that this is a dereliction of your duty as elected members of the council.
You’re therefore unfit for office and should do the decent thing and resign.

10 minute journey has become 40 minutes, causing stress and loss of earnings. This has made it very difficult to live and work in the area, and is ruining our community and local businesses.

Shalini Nilaweera (London, 2023-11-05)

#512

I live in SW16 1UQ and do not agree with the LTNs. They create more traffic and pollution by grid locking London, cause havoc for emergency services as well as making life difficult extremely stressful for many people for a variety of reasons. They are not reducing traffic just pushing it into denser areas.

Sarah-Jane Raben (London, 2023-11-05)

#514

I despise the concept of LTNs and want to see them removed. It is a scheme that has been imposed by those with an utterly delusional, ideological agenda onto non-consenting ordinary citizens and is causing a completely unnecessary and totally pointless inconvenience in their everyday lives.

Michael Cinque-White (London, 2023-11-05)

#515

I strongly disapprove of LTNs. They divide the community and have a negative impact in lives in the community. The Streatham Wells LTN is a step too far and is the worst LTN implementation in London.

Caroline Wifa (London , 2023-11-05)

#516

The scheme is not about the environment as it is forcing cars into main roads that are already congested in Streatham. Traffic jams cause cars to isle and to pollute the environment even more.

Julie Naldrerr (London, 2023-11-05)

#520

Lambeth has disregarded all opposition to LTNs as rat runners, a disgruntled few, threw away legal votes against LTNs, not listened to residents concerns, caused more pollution, put lives in more danger

Neil Thomson (London, 2023-11-05)

#521

The reason why I am signing this petition is because; firstly I am using more petrol to get to my destination, as I have to drive through the main roads where there is congestion/traffic.
Secondly, it is taking me much longer to get to my destination. And thirdly, London transport is affected which results in more time added to commuting. This is all ridiculous! You think this is helping, well its not.

Dina Charalambous (Clapham , 2023-11-05)

I oppose the LTN

Victor Baptista (London, 2023-11-05)

#531

I urge you to scrap the LTN road closures. It’s not helping the environment at all with all this tail backs on the high road how is it helping the environment it’s a beggars belief.
Under the current cost of living crisis our lives have been made even more difficult by your actions not supported by the constituents living in the borough.

Salim Bawa (London , 2023-11-05)

#535

Reason for me signing is because people are having to leave 30 mins earlier if not longer to arrive at work now. Side streets have been shut off for no reason at all. It can’t be because of pollution because shutting off the side streets just makes hundreds of cars sit on a main road not moving and polluting the air even more. People have had enough and it’s not fair on people taking their kids to school and people travelling to work. Roads are for driving. Not to shut off whenever you like with no valid reason at all. Pathetic.

Charlie OHalloran (London, 2023-11-06)

#536

I am signing as I believe the LTNs have caused nothing but more traffic on our roads.

Duwayne Ferguson (London, 2023-11-06)

#540

I’m signing because I think LTNs are wrong, they divide communities, and are used to raise revenue for the council, I live in the Streatham Wells LTN which has made the traffic on the surrounding roads much worse

Janet Eke (London, 2023-11-06)

#541

I am signing this petition as I agree with the statement re lambeth'S LTN.

Tracey Barrett (London , 2023-11-06)

This is unacceptable! The crazy traffic is affecting my commute every day! It takrs 50 mins to go from Streatham Common to Poynders Road!

LTN made my life difficult I suffer from knee problems I was using my car to commute to Julian’s primary school where I work now i heave no choice have to walk with my painful knee I live in Leithcote Gardens.

linda firth (London, 2023-11-06)

#550

The road closure have had a massive effect on my day to day life a 7 min journey is now 30 mins. There’s been a lot of traffic since the road closure.

Aswan Ali (London , 2023-11-06)

#551

LTN is an utter disaster. Since it has been introduced Streatham High Road at standstill.
Buses are sitting in traffic just as emergency services.
This hadn’t been thought through and sadly we are dealing with a result of poorly planned and poorly executed idea.

#560

Since LTN took place there has been far more danger on the streets for my children and other children going school and from school to home as the traffic has increased and all side roads which are blocked because of the LTN have become more insecure. Remove this immediately I’m sure you can find other ways to make money and putting children, elderly and people at risk is not the way.

Stiven Perez (London , 2023-11-08)

#561

The road closures are creating more traffic! Which is bad for the environment!! Also, how are police and ambulance drivers meant to get through to save lives during peak times?

Alex Sharpn (London, 2023-11-08)

#562

It is a nightmare getting anywhere around Brixton Hill and Streatham since these LTNs were introduced. Pollution is worse problem than ever on the main roads. The side roads are so quiet they are not safe to walk down after dark and cabs can’t drop people home! Abolish the LTNs asap!

Annette Vaudrey (London, 2023-11-08)

#564

I live on LCR. The traffic and pollution is off the scale! Impossible to get anywhere m time. It took 50min to get from
Streatham hill up to St.Julian’s farm the other day in the evening including 25 min wait for 417 that was supposed to arrive in 5 min. I was feeling unwell and couldn’t walk all the way up the hill. The LTNs don’t serve the community! Kids are late for school, people are late for work, doctor’s appointments and there is so much traffic and pollution on the boundary roads people living and working there are suffering! This is totally unacceptable and unfair!

J Nova (London , 2023-11-08)

#565

Because it has caused so much disruption travel chaos , more emissions and ambulances stuck in traffic.

These LTNS are absolutely ridiculous and are coursing so much traffic and pollution it's unreal, every single vehicle is having to sit in traffic for at least an extra 30 minutes. So much for your less pollution LAMBETH your coursing so much more stress, beening late for everything, road rage and effecting ill health people.

V G (London, 2023-11-10)

I live in Lambeth and I don’t believe the changes serve the greater good of all. I also did not agree to the changes.

Suzanne Reid (London, 2023-11-10)

#576

LTN's are not people friendly, designed to exclude and separate. Preventing any 'society'.
I am disabled, Lambeth has not even answered applications for their declared exemptions.

Mary Kirwan (London, 2023-11-11)

#577

Hello there,
We are all care about clean air and global warming ; However the action that Lambeth LTN took at the moment is really, unworkable it is mayhem you cannot move you cannot drop kids to the school for ambulance, fire brigade etc … It is blocking everything they need to rethink and open it up. It’s completely unworkable.

Bedesta DEBALKEW (London , 2023-11-11)

#580

My children shouldn't have to suffer in more polluted areas because traffic sits on our road daily and heavy. Why do we have to be in stress to work and coming home especially when we try an drop kids to school and nursery because of LTNs. Are we safer on back roads now bevaise they're very quiet all the time perfect for predators. My daughter walks sometimes too. That's worrying. Money means nothing when it comes to safety.

Nataleigh Burrell (London, 2023-11-12)

#584

It is,causing too much time traffic around Streatham Hill

Ludwin Rondal (London , 2023-11-13)

#591

Streatham high road has become paralysed with tailbacks all the way from Norbury to where it meets the south circular, it doesn't work!

Simon Cuthbert (London, 2023-11-20)

#593

LTN has caused major disruption across the whole of Lambeth Borough especially in Brixton and Streatham. It has caused nothing but isolation and stress especially to the most volunerable like myself. I pay my taxes to live here and taxes to drive on the roads, restricting my movements as a human being with rights has caused serious health problems including increased financial cost for the extra fuel and servicing on the vehicle. Not everyone is able to take the unreliable public transport and I don't personally feel safe travelling on it or walking to and from it with the amount of crime in Lambeth Borough. Get rid of these unwanted LTN, stop wasting our time and money.

Bernadette Sawney (London, 2023-11-23)

#594

Lambeth are detached from reality. The LTNs are a cash cow for them.

I am signing this because the inconveniences caused my disabled mother alongside inconvenience us going to the shops driving a normal 7 to 10 mins is costing us more money because we are driving further to go somewhere we could just cut through or driving to a shop in Peckham when we live in Stockwell travelling way out our way

R B (London , 2023-11-29)

#600

I live on Leigham Court Road which, since the introduction of the recent Streatham LTNs, has become unbearably busy and the smell of vehicle fumes have become extremely strong.

Additionally, it is pointless trying to catch a bus towards Streatham Hill station as buses crawl along at a snail pace due to the built up traffic up Leigham Court Road.
